Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I got the same setup after watching it. On my very first fill at about 3500 something blew. I was thinking "Great, the burst disk blew!". Thankfully it was just the o-ring on the extra filter had blown out, I hadn't screwed it tight enuf. I repaired the little o-ring hernia and was back in business. I ran it to 4200 without over temp at room temp. Thanks for the tips.
Well, that was one of the most helpful review/demonstrations I have seen. Caused me to order the compressor and oily water separator. They came in today and I will try them out tonight. So thanks
Excellent video. Tons of good information! I have the same unit. Mine is from Vevor. They are sold under a few different names, but they are the same thing. I added the 3 year coverage. It came out to a little over $200 on Amazon. A real bargain, I think! If you are going to buy any of these PCP compressors, always get that extra coverage! It's worth it! I agree with you. The little water/oil separator filter it comes with is really marginal. For a few bucks add that secondary water/oil separator filter. You will be glad you did. This absolutely beats handpumping your PCP any day of the week!! A great little compressor for not a lot of $!
Thanks for the very informative video. I recently bought one on your recommendation, I'm very happy with it. In my opinion it's really not that loud. Thanks again..
I saw your comment on the hand pump video and wrote you a lengthy reply. Honesty, get both. The pump is a great backup "SHTF" item to have around in case there is no power or your compressor breaks when you need it most. And the compressors are not too expensive nowadays. These little Orcair compressors are great. I also have a video on the ToAuto compressor which I have been beating THE HELL out of lately and it is an absolute workhorse for my many large (up to 1500cc) tanks. Check that video out. I also have a few videos on the Stormrider, which is just about the perfect starter PCP for anyone looking to get into the hobby. I've taken 50 yard headshots on squirrels with that thing and it loves the absolute cheapest pellets available - the Crosman 14.3 grainers. I have links that support the channel in my videos for all these products, I do not monetize my channel via youtube (no commercials for my viewers!) so those purchases really help keep things running. If my replies here are helpful, please return the favor by purchasing through those links! ;)
@Air Shootist My GX pump cs1 coped out on me wouldn't hold pressure after 100hr and a year of plinking service and its out of replacement warranty but was well worth it i definitely would get amazon insurance next time. I'm dreading hand pumps so do you know any good c02 or variable pump rifles I'm also dreading break barrels.
I have one of these for a month, my issue is it will not fill anything past 3,000 psi, one it hits 3,000 psi on a tank or air rifle it will never go higher. Any ideas?
@@airshootist exccellent news, do you have an idea of how much use it has had? Have you had to replace any parts? I want one for casual use, but where i live humidity has caused two manual pumps to rust very quickly......
How should i run this on the feild without the car? You think a power pack puts out enough watts? Maybe a cheap car battery from Wal-Mart? Let me know what you think.
I dunno man. You're still gonna need some wattage. I think you need a running vehicle. Maybe bring it into Wally World and try running it off one of their deep cell batteries! 🤣🤣🤣
Could you fill a 1.6cu ft tank with it? I have one of those Hatsan air tanks and it’s the best purchase I have made. Bought it used for 100 bucks with the everything read to go. How long and could it fill one I’d highly consider getting one of these.
You're a little over the .6L limit they state in the manual there bud, but I am sure you could. It would just take multiple cooling cycles. If you don't have a fill nipple with a check valve, you would have to let the compressor get up to pressure before slowly opening the tank valve, otherwise it would basically be the same thing as starting it up against pressure (*Mr. Mackey voice*: "That's bad, mmmkay?"). Also, join our zero-rules FB group if you haven't already. Would love to have the same level of participation you put forth on UA-cam in our FB group. Not sure I've seen you over there yet, you number 1 fan, you! ❤️ facebook.com/groups/314536087535287
Are you still using this compressor? I got 1 a few weeks ago because of your video and was wondering if you still have/use it? Thank you by the way. It’s quiet and fills quickly
@@castincatchin7400 As long as you do it in 10 minute or less stages and VENT the air before starting the compressor again, you're good to go. I fill up my 90ci Ninja tank all the time with it.
I have a hatsan blitz I got this because of your review, it’ll fill the gun but when I bleed the line it’ll bleed the whole tank, it holds air sometimes but someone at pyramid air said if it’s bled to slow the valve won’t close, have you had any problems with that? can you make the air come out faster?
That seems very odd. Sounds like a problem with the gun. That shouldn't be happening. Maybe the valve spring in the gun is too weak or not properly installed? You could try adding a slide check to your fill whip and venting both the compressor and the slide check at the same time to vent extremely fast? Not sure how to help with that, brother, but I hope you get it working properly.

Should I buy a compressor, or a hand pump? I don't have a PCP yet, but looking at fetting the bandit, and stormrider.

Once it gets to 3k, cut the motor and watch the gauge. Does it go down? If so you have a leak. Also, make sure your bleeder is screwed in tight.
That looks like a serious air rifle you got there!!!
The FX Maverick is a BEAST! I actually have 2 of them

No.

Yep! It lives in the shed now and fills guns often still
How long does it take to fill up 4500 PSI
Too many variables missing from your question to answer that. But for example it will fill my 45ci tank from 3000 to 4500 in like 7 minutes
