Actually might be one of my favourite MYOG videos; clear, concise, illustrative of principles and techniques. I was so busy watching what was going on that I didn't worry about the focus, didn't notice until you mentioned it. Thanks. YVR

I made this without the zipper using a 1" overlap on the two front panels. Works great!

Just started on mine using Dyneema Grid stop scrap pieces and some 1/8 inch spacer mesh. Nice and easy project to get warmed up for this winter's sewing projects.

Thanks for the video! I didn't end up making this bag in particular - but you helped me learn how to sew a zipper for something I was working on. I want to try one of your patterns soon!

Great to hear it was helpful. I have a lot of patterns to choose from and all are easily modified! Give it a go!

Sorry about the video quality on this one. I got complacent and didn't realize auto focus was constantly hunting. Live and learn.

I've never put in a zipper and could use a little more detail on the ends. You do make it look so easy though that I'm not afraid to give a shot. Guess I'll start with some cheap fabric.

Check out my other video specifically on inserting zippers. I go into detail on two common methods.

Please make more videos like these. You literally have the best DIY activewear/outerwear videos I’ve seen in years.
Should definitely make more. Maybe a windbreaker, more details backpack, or even some running shorts maybe?? :)

Glad you like the video. My trail running backpack video series details a full build of a very detailed pattern for an intermediate MYOG project.

Loved your tutorial and the pattern looks great. I’ll check it out for sure. I’m not familiar with those fabrics though. Hope there’s info on your site. Glad I found this!

Great tutorial. But I would insert the webbing when stitching around the front and back pieces, use them to help "birth the bag," then top stitch.

This is great, I may make one just to give away to a co-worker who is a serious runner.

Thats a great idea. Its a short little project that doesn't require much material and should make a great gift.

g8trtim It looks like you are just using 3D mesh for the back panel. Wouldn’t it make sense to put add a layer of fabric inside the 3D spacer mesh so the bag is more waterproof? I’ve never used mesh before so any advice would be great.

    • @LearnMYOG
      @LearnMYOG  4 роки тому +1

Yes, but it's s trade off. Backing the spacer mesh with coated or otherwise non breathable material will make the back panel water resistant but will also feel very hot and make you sweat more. Since majority of phones today are water-resistant, I chose breathability and comfort.

A little off topic, but what software do you use for drawing/printing your patterns. PS. Love your channel, very helpful.

    • @LearnMYOG

Thanks. I just use Inkscape which is a vector drawing program like Illustrator.
