Tim, thanls for that great Video. Helped me a lot to finish the Porterpony. Together with the pattern it was quite easy to accomplish. Very well done. Looking forward to more designs!
@@antoniofusaro2530 thanks for your feedback. Happy to hear you found the project enjoyable.
Great quick easy video
Boy, that Juki sure sounds nice!
@@muskadobbit love the machines!
Ok getting ready to start this project. I made the smaller pouch to practice the zipper curve bend. Not too bad to do. Here we go. Thanks.
@@psahadi you got this!
extremtextil carries airmesh merino. would that material work for these, or is that a bad idea?
Hey where have you been all my sewing--life :) So glad I found this very different sewingchannel. Merry christmas btw.
I watched, subscribed, liked and then came back after I searched your channel for a flat bag to sew for my son in law that studies engineering here in Italy. I'd love to get a few new ideas; (since I am not hip and young); he is serious too, like you, and need a flat/thin bag to carry pen, some tech and 2- 3 A4 note books; the laptop they have both in school and at home so he doesn't have to carry that back and forth; his back-pack is just too big for so little. (Just an idea, if you like a challenge)...I'd love to see something a bit more modern, not too sporty but more classic. But modern. HA! Didn't ask for much did I! :))) Feel zero pressure I am still a subscriber and a new fan. <3
glad UA-cam brought us together. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for another video guide, can’t overstate how helpful these are. I’ll get the pattern and get to sewing this week 😊
Glad you enjoy the videos and they help you make your own gear!
very nice presentation, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking the time to make another video Tim. It’s nice to see how this pattern comes together, and I always learn some helpful general sewing tricks watching your videos.
Love to hear it, thanks for your feedback.
I’ve already sewn my pouch, but this video would have been helpful during the process, as some moments were unclear.
Written instructions are tough and I always enjoy a sewalong video as well!. Thanks for sharing your version on Instagram. Your shoulder bag mods are great.
Amazing work as always! Some really great ideas for me to steal -er, I mean be inspired by! 😁
@@thejasonofalltrades ha one idea creates many!
Me too <3 hahaha So grateful!
This showed me my walking foot machine is not adjusted, right. Too sensitive to stich length. Keep up the great work
Im like half way sewing this, im sure this video will help me!
I look forward to hearing how it goes and seeing your Tech Pouch 👍
What is the material you’ve adhered the ripstop to? I just read the digital cutters for gear makers article on your site but couldn’t find that part in there. Cheers mate! Thanks for the inspiration!
@@rly_rly the Cricut cutting mat, the pink one is their stickiest mat for fabrics so the rotary cutter gives a clean cut. It’s a bit too tacky for lightweight fabrics tho.
Thank you so much
Please make a sew along video!
G’day Tim. Looks like another great project! I’ve printed out your instructions and A0 pattern and plan to make this tomorrow. FYI, I really like the way you’ve coloured the measuring pieces (zipper and strap lengths) in red to distinguish from the material pieces. 👍 Thank you.
@@danishskiwarehouse thanks for your feedback! Hope the pattern goes smoothly for you.
Awesome pouch! Will you have a tutorial?
So I have a bag idea/design, but how does one figure out the template? Is it just trial and error?
sir, what are the measurement used for all parts
You are supposed to buy the pattern! 😉
This is a great pattern and walkthrough to understand joining panels for pouches. When I first started (and even now) I found doing anything gusseted EXTREMELY difficult. This takes some of the complexity out of it. Ended up lining the back panel with loop velcro to put magazine/ifak inserts in as a sort of tactical fanny.
Great video. Only suggestion is I would reverse the order of the chapters. First time I did this I wished I made the side stoppers before attaching the panels
This is awesome. It would work so well as a first aid kit
@@MrPotatoPO that’s a good idea 👍
NICE! Thank you! What fabric would you recommend for a quiet experience? Something less scratchy sounding. Thank you!
Cool design. Adding it to my list.
This is a great idea and build!
👍
👍
Another nice build! Might want to bump your link tho - I had to go through another buy link to find my way to your actual shop with the pattern.
@@bryanthompson978 you’re fast! Link updated in the description, thanks for pointing that out.
Great guide. Are you using bias tape 1 fold or 2 fold too??
for the rear opening? double fold.
I made this without the zipper using a 1" overlap on the two front panels. Works great!
that sounds creative!
Great Video, Is the black fabric on the "body" side of the S-Straps the same Spandura Fabric, or is it something different?
Trying to finish an alpha raglan hoodie - no binder attachment and I am struggling with how to attach the FOE with correct tension. HELP!!
I need a paper pattern 😢
On the corners, where do you cut the relief cut? Is it 3/8 of an inch from the corner? Thx
@@RetiredAdventurers sink your needle at the pivot point. Make a small cut perpendicular the seam allowance pointed at your needle. Don’t cut into the seam line.
Exactly what I was looking while sewing a small box shaped pouch. Ty!
Great tip and explanation thanks
Awesome! Why do you double over the tabs at the ends of the zipper?
Thank you so much can for this. I learned so much.
This is amazing! Do you also supply these materials?
This is great! I made an underquilt with RSBR's kit, but the Apex insulation made it very difficult and kept getting caught on the foot. Any tips for that?
@@pkeeney ya sewing Apex is a pain and I avoided having my seams anywhere near the raw insulation. I planned for 1/2” seam allowances. I also serged the outside edges of the quilt before binding. It was pretty tough on my small serger so wouldn’t recommend it but it saved my sanity!
Great idea using the projector to draw out the pattern. What projector are you using?
@@TonyMusor a surplus epson short throw that are commonly found on eBay.
Another great product! I'm amazed at your ability to look at the world, find 'problems,' and create solutions.
Thank you for your detailed instructions!! I also appreciate all the helpful markings on the patterns and the layout of the instructions! Made it so easy to follow and not feel too daunted by the task! I just finished making mine (though my colour choices are a strong contrast lol)
so glad to hear you had a good time of it. I love seeing all the wildly different packs people make!
I've been trying to design one like the Saloman pulse ( and there are others like that). It seems to be pull on but I like the idea of having a fastener. I wonder if the straps to the fastener could be a firm elastic. Your feedback on the water bottle holder is very interesting - I had assumed I would be optimizing pulling the bottle out on the run... but that would definitely be a different design. More to think about and prototype. Thanks!
I use this belt quite often - today in fact - but also want to make a lyrca belt like the one you mentioned. I'm most concerned about not having adjustability for fit and layering. Maybe there's an idea to have a mostly lycra belt but with a cord or webbing channel around the top and bottom perimeter to add a bit of adjustment. I don't mind taking the belt off to drink but its a bit unconventional. I have not found a sleeve design for soft flasks once they are half empty. To me its much less fiddly to simply leave it in the sleeve and stop for a short break. I've seen others just toss the soft flask in the lycra belt but it needs to be quite tight fitting to prevent bounce.
I just finished making my own pair! These video was super helpful and your commentary was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your designs, I’ll be wearing these lots and I’m sure I’ll end up with many more
@@flyfishingbushcrafter9849 great to hear 👍
Best video I've found on zipper tabs where you conceal the thread.Thank you!
I'm going to make this but cut down dimensions to fit a petite woman.
I want to try making bags, so this is going to be very helpful
After watching your video👍👍, it is really attractive. I am a luggage factory from China. Is there any chance for us to cooperate?🙏🙏
