Thank you , your lesson is very helpful and informative. I find the logic of the radical in the Chinese language is very clever, and makes a,lot of sense..

Great as always. Packed with good info!
Wow. You are so good at explaining things. But the way you explain everything are going to help me retain the information and learn Chinese. So excited right now. Thank you 😊
Thanks! I guess you have quite a good level of vocabulary already?
@@QueenHanzi I “took” online HSK1 vocabulary test and I knew/ recognized about 88%. But I actually know vocabulary from HSK 2 and HSK3 because my teacher challenged me from the very first class. I had hoped that my classes would be like kids are taught (1st grade, 2nd grade, etc), but that was not the case. Many times I was frustrated, but now I have finally seen the fruits of my hard work. My goal was to learn how to speak Chinese, communicate. However, I found that as I studied, I started (slowly) learning characters. Consequently, I noticed patterns and wondered what they meant. So I was very happy to learn this radical because I have seen it but didn’t know what it meant. Now that I learned it, it will help me to learn and understand other words with this radical. Another example I can give you is 跟. The first part reminds me of an animal so I recognize it in different characters but have no idea what it means. My teacher did not explain the different parts of the character. Anyway, hope this helps and thank you for your hard work 😊
@@rsainz1296 wow! Thanks for sharing your learning journey! Radicals (components) are very hard to explain because the original intentions could be different during language evolution, and some characters have meanings that aren't so closely related to each other. I can understand why teachers skip that! I personally love the construction of characters and compound words because my interest in history (to go back and see how they were made) and my years of practicing calligraphy as a child. After so many times of writing with brushes in both traditional and simplified versions and focusing on the beauty of the art, the characters are full of stories and life and they're forever dancing in my head...
感谢谢

DELICIOUS TEACHING... 🎉🎉🎉
非常感謝❤
謝謝老師
Thank you very much!
Thank you Laoshi! Your teaching is easy to understand me.
I would also really appreciate if you could find time to explain the broader uses of 让 because it seems like a very flexible and useful verb 🙏 The examples here make perfect sense, but I've come across other sentence structures where it is a bit more difficult to understand why 让 is used - something like "这件事让他很后悔“ (I'm just making as simple as an example as I can, but here the 让 seems to mean something closer to "make/cause). Maybe topic for a short future video/something about useful, flexible words? I've had similar feelings about 当.
Hi Martin, it's always great to see your suggestions over learning difficulties which could be ideas that many might find useful. Yes I had thoughts about introducing important characters with a wide variety of meanings and applications, I tried 上下大小中边, 让 and 当 as you mentioned are absolutely important. I'm on my way😊
Very good lesson
thanks teacher for your clear lesson.😊 this is very useful.
Yay new video!!!
top lesson
谢谢

Very nice to ken differences between mandarin characters. Xie xie
Wow, thank you! This is helpful. I knew there are radicals but I don't understand them. I have tried to suss them out on my own. I thought the radical you explained today had to do with a person. Now I understand better. Just subscribed.
Hi Martha, your feedback is very helpful to me! Would you maybe tell a bit more: is the thumbnail somehow confusing (as you first thought the content is related to people)? What kind of title or cover would be more direct and clear for you? Eager to hear! 😀
Thank you for your response. I actually had this radical confused with another. I have no idea how the characters are constructed. I have just tried to guess. Some day I would
like to understand it, but I have very limited time to study each day.
I wish i would be an amazing teacher like you 😢❤
Do you teach Duaa?😀

Hello Jaiyi Teacher. 我很喜欢您的课。I understand everything you cover but one sentence pattern I can’t figure out the exact meaning of : 好吃的让着他 I need your help for this. Thank you.
There is no corresponding sentence structure in English - but it means something like "letting him (that's the 他 - in this case the little brother) eat/indulge in the nice/tasty food" and 让 carries the connotation that the older brother gives priority to the younger brother by either letting them eat first or most of it.
The first part of the sentence "哥哥总是让着弟弟“ is very broad and can also mean that the older brother is "indulging/spoiling" the younger or that he always "gives in/gives way" in arguments.
Hi, 好吃的让着他 means the older brother let the younger choose or eat first when it comes to food. Or even let him eat only if there's only enough for one person. Completely put the younger before him.
@@martinessemann3413 thank you very much for taking time to help me with the sentence. I did not imagine it would come to mean like this
@@QueenHanziI came across your channel a few weeks ago and I have been trying to follow your lessons ever since. Your contents are highly rich and very helpful. Your explanations about the situation are so exact that you end up understanding very well. And thank you very much for explaining the meaning of the sentence. I couldn’t understand it without the help.
@@martinessemann3413 Martin, your understanding is deep and thorough!
認識 rèn-shìh is correct.
Hi, you have a good point here. 言 as radical in the traditional characters you type are the original version of the speech radical in this video, with the passage of time it's simplified (in China mainland).
@@QueenHanzi 識 should be also pronounced with 去聲, so it's ㄕˋ (shìh), it was a 入聲 in Middle Chinese.
