Hope you don't mind if I pop this bit of important, but unrelated, info in. I've been trying for a while now to figure this problem out: essential medications. DEA does not allow for "hoarding" meds, it's against the law. That has to changed so that doctors are able to perscribe at least a months worth of backup meds. Doesn't matter if there's those who will abuse this, it won't change the big picture. Then we need to think of a way to safely store them so meds don't disappear during a disaster. Also, anyone taking meds needs to be familiar with them; like what to expect if it's stopped suddenly. What's being taken, how much and what it looks like. The possibility of local hospitals opening up a special locked pharmacy in case of an emergency. This is critical because some meds are life supporting. Some, if stopped suddenly, could cause that person to be unable to help themself or those around them. These are a few issues I've been worried about. DEA needs to adjust their many laws so people can survive having to take these meds. Most phone books recommend having a med backup for emergencies. I hope this fits in with what you're trying to accomplish here. Thank you so much for providing these videos, I'm sure you are saving lives.
See, I always worry about this with ours but trying to EMP proof it myself just seemed like a gamble and somewhat of a pain. Now that I'm working again, hopefully I can find a better job, and upgrade to something like this!
Glad to learn about this system. Thank you Jonathan, Kylene and Andrew for this video. I am looking forward to the perovskite solar panels, wishing they were mass produced to the extent of monochrystalline, bringing the cost down. That is when I will take the plunge. Happy trails!
It's just protected with multiple spds. 13 kw system is 16000. But I can buy the parts for $5000. A 10kw battery for $3000, a inverter for $1600, wires and spds for $400. I could buy 2 and have one off line
Crazy, if this is shared abroad that only means others out there who aren’t good people know about this too. What to stop others from stealing and coming your homes to take from us? Plus, if your single who the heck can afford this?
Their 'cheapest' configuration is way too expensive (IMO) for a starter system ... and it's only batteries! The one I had installed is a full system at around 1/2 the price. By 'full system' I mean batteries, solar panels, charger/controller/inverter (that you can use with your phone if the internet is down and switches automatically between grid and solar power/batteries), and two EMP Shields (one AC, the other DC). Full disclosure: the battery capacity is not as high, but with solar panels it doesn't need to be. To each his own, of course, but how many of your viewers can afford something like this?
Well, you could have shown the system in this video. The question is what does it look like? Physical specs and general appearance would be nice. Also, did he say Lithium Iron Phosphate battery? I would only have the iron phosphate type of Lithium battery in my house.
My opinion: you must install high-saturation ferrites where the cables from your electric meter enter the distribution panel. Failure to do so will provide incomplete home protection. We will certainly look into how and where these units were tested for their resistance to EMP pulse. I would be impressed if a product survives and functions properly after several direct hits from the pulse generator. A new home was recently built on the corner lot next door to us blocking our southern exposure. Our use of solar panels, for now, will be demonstration projects used to charge small devices such as LED headlamps, cellphones, emergency radios, and two-way comms. That will be mounted on a mobile cart and set up across the road from our home to get the solar exposure we must have. I was hoping your guest would elaborate on the use of a long-run gas or diesel generator set to charge this power bank. I am sure that is possible. Until we make our final move, a gen-set would be our method to charge the power bank in the event of a long-term grid-down situation.
Have you ever thought of having your own book or notebook of information before , during, and after a EMP or nuclear bomb , how to protect yourselves, and what other things that needs to be done ? And each section organized in your notebook , with tabs ? And sell it.
Does the Bluetooth communicating with the system need cell towers to work? I figure if the grid goes down, the cell towers will be gone too.....sorry if this is a dumb question...not techy here🤭
Bluetooth communication doesn't use internet, wifi or phone. It just communicates directly from one device to another. It requires maybe 70 feet or less distance. Bluetooth headphones or earbuds may only go 30 ft. Your car/mobile phone connection is probably on the more robust 30 to 70ft capability.
@rebeccalewis4947 thanks!!! I appreciate you responding, had no clue....that's pretty neat too! Hope you have a blessed weekend, and thanks again 😊God bless!
I'm addition to this you don't need internet for wifi to work. Wifi is the signal that your devices can find and connect to. Internet is what connects you to anything outside of your house. Say for example you have a security system that is connected to your wifi and the internet goes down. As long as your router still works you can connect you phone to your wifi network and still see all your cameras or your battery solution etc.
I suppose two good questions would be what type of PV panels do they use such as amphoric or microcrystalline, and what is the conversion rate of sunlight to energy percentage.

Looks like a Lion Sanctuary with a few surge protectors. Are you doing any high saturation ferrites like the EMP Doctor recommends? We have a 27kwh system from Lion sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. Did your install go well?
Having designed similar protection systems in the past, I see no way the EMP Shield system can work, except for low level lightning strikes. Just attaching a "protection box" to a power main cable can only provide limited over-voltage performance, assuming the frequency of the voltage spike is not too high and its duration is less than 1/1000 of a second. A lightning strike is similar to a nuclear EMP P2 pulse. The nuclear blast P1 and P3 pulses would likely bypass and fry the "protection box". Protection from a full EMP set of effects requires the protected system be mounted in a double-walled seamless metal box with a substantial filtering network used on each line that goes in or out of the box. Those solar generators being sold as "EMP Hardened" based upon their construction/design will most likely catch on fire, a fire that can't be put out since it is caused by a lithium battery.
Love your content & appreciate all you do, you're both awesome. But WOAH, we thought we went all in & were covered by buying the EMP shields from the last vid w/ Andrew but now we are second guessing ourselves. We feel like Dumb & Dumber after watching this, LoL. SO MUCH TO LEARN :)

We purchased a battery back solar system in 2019. The company didn't finish the install until late 2020. It's been a nightmare! The company went out of business. Nothing is as it was supposed to be and now we don't know who to call to get help w it! Big waste of money. Now I have a hard time believing anything about any of them
There are a lot of sketchy companies selling solar. That is one of the reasons why we haven't done it yet. After serious investigation, I am impressed with Grid Down Redoubt. Keep watching. We are installing it in a few months and we'll make videos on what we think and how it works.

I hope to get the vehicle unit for my little diesel tractor, so I can charge a battery or 2, but if Homeland Security and other government experts say that 90% of people in U.S. would die after a full-country EMP, how would I be helped with any kind of EMP protection system? No gas stations working so no gas or diesel for vehicles, roads blocked with non-running vehicles, so most vehicles would be pretty much useless. And after just a few days or weeks there would be mean, hungry refugees trying to take what I have, whether in my vehicle or my home. How could I realistically keep people from stealing supplies from my home. I hear people say, "Shoot 'em." But what about after the 18 months when the government says power will be restored--maybe? Then shooters might end up spending their lives in the slammer like what happened to participants at the January 6 insurrection. But I'm in a rural area and I have guns and am trained but I don't see how I could keep bad guys from stealing from my home or even moving in to my house with or without me living there. People wouldn't be coming to my front door in the middle of the day, holding a sign that says, "Try to shoot me." When I ask neighbors these questions, they have no answers. They never thought about them. And if 90% of the population or around 280 million are dead and for the past 18 months are dying, what will we do with that many bodies? And will all that decay cause cholera? And most people won't be able to get rid of human fecal matter causing more disease. These EMP Shield systems sound great in a utopian world, but how could hardly anyone over the age of say 50 or under the age of 10 survive? I'd sure like to know the answers to these questions so I can make a decision on what kind of system might help me. The grid going down will only bother me if I need meds, but an EMP would pretty well put this country back to the middle ages.
Microelectronics that are not completely shielded (like in a Faraday cage) will always be vulnerable to a HEMP. Putting surge suppressors on in and out lines can't help for that. He even admitted the electronics are not completely shielded but their engineering says it should be fine. Yeah, ok.
That’s not what was said. This system is 100% protected. He was stating that the metal enclosure provides extra protection. the EMP Shield devices are enough protection by themselves. EMP Shield devices have been tested to and surpassed all military EMP protection standards.
My question is what amount of money are we calling "very affordable"? I went to the Grid Down website I found no price information listed for any of the products. I understand that every home's needs to be considered and is going to be different but there should be several examples of homes with 2K sq ft and the basic appliances needed to keep lights, heat and basic appliances running. The website information/specs/tools and 90% of the technical language used in the interview is Greek to me. I would have to hire a certified, competent, affordable electrician to install, educate me and be available when the grid is gone and civil society has broken down. A map or listing of certified Grid Down installers on the website would also be useful.
I realize this is about protecting your power but I am wondering if you know any inventors who can duplicate the function of the SMR chlorine maker. I have contacted the company. They have no plans to restart production. But it is one of the biggest problems facing the emergency preparedness community. How to produce chlorine to purify water since it will not store. The problem has been solved but the product is not available.

Hard pass.. $25,000- $30,000 could get you all the off grid power you need and be more portable if ever really needed. $15,000 from ecoflow can build you a sweet system. And it can be mobile
EMP Shield has conducted military certified testing at keystone compliance. A real EMP was used. EMP Shield is also listed by the Department of Homeland Security as having passed these tests and is also partnered with the National Security Collaboration Center.
If you actually read the details of the testing you will find they never surpassed 90000 volts per meter. Depending on where you live you may require more protection than just this device.
@@dougwilson8274 - yes, I was wondering about the magnitude. I remember reading about testing of EMP effects on modern vehicles in which the cars mostly survived the EMP with a few having problems but still being useable. But the EMP they used was nowhere near the strength of what could be expected from a NEMP.
Having conducted and witnessed radiated emissions tests for 10 years, most labs were ignoring the letter of the testing specification and coming up with their own shortcuts without doing any correlation testing. So, given an EMP's super high field intensities and broad frequency range, no simple "protection box" connected to a wire can offer the required protection performance. Companies selling this "snake oil" are probably betting on the fact that the infrastructure will be so decimated after a nearby EMP, the protection failure will be overshadowed by much higher priority problems.
That doesn't mean they sold out. You are being a bit rude. No, you are way out of line here. All you needed to say was that you know of another company. Teaching people is a lot better than accusing them. Granted, I went to the website and there is no way we could afford this but that doesn't mean others can't afford it.

It's okay. You don't have to have this to be prepared. You can come stay with mama if things get really bad. Love you!
@@TheProvidentPrepper you just made me cry. You're the kindest family ever.
Didn't mean to make you cry! Love you!@@cabinfevernanna5897

Awesome content! If you're looking to explore these topics even further, we actually produced an award-winning documentary called Grid Down Power Up - Documentary, narrated by Dennis Quaid, that dives deep into these issues. It’s available for free on our channel, and you might find it really insightful. We also have some resources on our website for taking action, like contacting legislators and public utilities. Please help us spread the word
You got some mean comments below... holy smokes
Hard pass..
$25,000- $30,000 could get you all the off grid power you need and be more portable if ever really needed. $15,000 from ecoflow can build you a sweet system. And it can be mobile
Would that be able to tie into the grid to sell back power during the day though?
DT. Which system for 15k would provide you all the power you would ever need? We have reviewed their systems quite thoroughly.
I'm curious how this was tested. Surely they didn't generate an EMP to see that the system survived it...
@@dougwilson8274the military requirement is 50,000v. We exceeded that by 40,000v.
Cheaper way????
this is a complete lie this is not the First EMP hardened energy storage system so seems this channel has sold out!!!!!
That doesn't mean they sold out. You are being a bit rude. No, you are way out of line here. All you needed to say was that you know of another company. Teaching people is a lot better than accusing them. Granted, I went to the website and there is no way we could afford this but that doesn't mean others can't afford it.
Zapman, interested to know who you believe is the first?
The salesman did say that a few companies also have EMP hardened systems. Provident peppers are doing the best they can.
@@ensignj3242PP shouldn't say it's the first in their title.
