Hi RepairClinic, thanks for your nice videos! My Amana bottom freezer mount fridge is cooling the fridge, but the freezer is not cold enough, and I don't see ice buildup on the evaporator coils. Could a bad cold control thermostat be my issue? thanks.
Hi, if a thermostat clicks on (establishes contact) when the temperature dial is turned clockwise, but does not click off (disconnect) when the dial is turned counterclockwise until the dial reached the 'off' position; is that normal behavior or is the thermostat faulty ?
I have the basically same question. Except mine "clicks" at shut off both ways. (turning On and turning OFF.) But it doesn't "click" anywhere else like at a temp. point shutoff (ie 40 dgrees for example). I have a mini fridge manual defrost and it's not cooling. It could be the thermostat, compressor or the relay on the compressor. when I plug it in and put my hand on the compressor it feels like it is vibrating/hum a little. when I turn the thermostat OFF it clicks and I don't feel the little vibration. I want to replace the cheapest of the two parts to see if that is the issue.
@@patrickobrien8851 yes. It was the black wire at the thermosat It was loose and was not making good contact with the thermostat. I squished the connector a little to make it grab better with my pliars and put it back on. It's ran like a champ since then.
@@tfs4693 Very glad to hear that. Besides the cost of replacement, the thought of throwing out an otherwise good appliance because of (what turns out to be) a simple problem is something we do too often. Well spotted!
How you remove the thermostat? Thanks

You can find the genuine OEM replacement part by entering in your model number for your refrigerator at RepairClinic.com.
do they make electronic only (ntc sensor ?) fridge thermostats ? (i.e. without the capillary and bellows mechanical system)
