You can use the teardrop on right hand corner to mark perfect waypoints. 😅👍🏼

I think you need a calibrated external heading sensor for it to work. Thanks for watching my video.

Hi, I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for the great instructional videos! I am interested in updating the fishing graphs on my boat and noticed that you switched from Humminbird units to Garmin units at the console and at the bow and would love your input on the pros and cons with switching from Humminbird units to Garmin units and having them networked together? Please let me know. Thanks, Tony

Thanks for subscribing and watching my videos. Humminbird has some nice units and customer service that will actually answer the phone. Unfortunately, the employees they hire doesn't know the product very well and you have to ship everything back for any kind of complicated issue, got tied of doing that. Every generation of Solix I purchased had to go back to Humminbird at least one time for some kind of repair. Also, both generations of the 360 was shipped back for blowing fuses. All my stuff was networked together and had several glitches having to reset everything all the time. The Solix uses a lot of power and I was getting low power alarms even though my battery would show mid 12 volts. It was a nightmare every time I would update the software. I hate to talk about any manufacturers product but you asked for my opinion and this is my personal opinion. I have not had any issues whatsoever with the Garmin product and I get nothing for free or discounted. I purchased every Garmin product with my own money. I really love my Garmin product and the customer support employees know the product line very well. I hope this answers your questions and you keep watching my videos. Thanks Stan

Do you know if there is a way to add the variable speed to the pro? Don’t want to have to buy a different unit to just get variable speed

Unfortunately the Pro Model isn’t upgradable due to the motors and head size differences. Thanks for watching and commenting on my video.

How are you controlling the steering with the steering wheel if you're using your trolling motor to move the boat? Thanks

If you aim your trolling motor straight and running on a continuous speed, your motor being in the water acts like a steering wheel. It will actually steer the boat as long as your running slow and not try to turn too sharp, works great!

    Nice vid.
How often do you have to calibrate to keep the panoptix area setting working properly?
