My IFR flights NEVER go smoothly. ATC has me flying at 20000ft in approach then wants me to decend down to 1500ft when im so close to landing. Absolute joke.
Try turning off live weather, that solved my issues with ATC getting the altitudes wrong, especially they painful moments of them repeating over and over again to maintain 16000, when I am at 16000!
same here, ATC tells me ascend to 21000ft, im ascending, ATC says descend to 20000ft, i descend, ATC says 21000ft and kept repeating the cycle. 🤣🤣
That is not a bug, it is because your Barometric altimeter is off, just reset that by clicking B and you will have the true altitude.
Yes! They had me climb to 37,000 then to 4,000 right as I approached the final. Wtf? I wasted a two hour flight because ATC is so broken.
What I do is follow your waypoints altitude as a guide; as you start your top of descent. As I am on my approach from top of descent, about 20 miles before the next way point, look at the altitude it displays and start descending to that given altitude about 20 miles before that waypoint. It usually works pretty well. It helps also to use LOC and Approach mode on final approach.
Thanks for the tremendous tutorial! My mistake was failing to engage "managed flight heading mode" and the plane was not following the flight plan. Lol at that hard landing - not your fault at all! :)
glad this helped you out!
Man that was a windy landing. Awesome video man very informative. I am looking to jump back into it after buying a joystick
As someone who hasn’t played in years and finally gets to play this next week on the series X, this entire video was a godsend
Much appreciated!
How are you doing now
@@Decivye Hi how to switch on air traffic controller sound? I too can’t hear ATC all my sound settings are turned on. Please help thanks
Watched many videos but yours was simple and to the point and gave a A320 beginner like me all they needed to practice with. Thank you. Kudos. P.S. Great landing nonetheless considering you were using a keyboard only.
I appreciate the kind words! Happy flying! :)
Done my first IFR flight using this video. Really well explained, thank you so much! I’m not great at is but I can tell that I’ll get it with practice
Thank you so much for this video. I'm relatively new to flight sim and this video was perfect. I followed your same flight and instructions and everything went so smoothly, and the landing was the best I've ever done! I can transfer what I learned in this video to any other flight too!
Glad this helped you out?
@@Decivye wym ?
I use to fly the 777 In the 04 sim. It’s been so long, had to come back. Great video
Thanks for the video, now I can an aircraft.
no worries!
Even 2024 this video helps! Thank you.
Laughed my ass off when I heard and then saw the 'I won't be turning off autopilot for this landing' then promptly went onto severe many 100's of passengers spinal chords
Hey ! Very good video, but shortly, how can i navigate at the taxi ways to the runway. I have put those assistant lines on but i want to get rid of them. Any tips?
Good afternoon Commander, you can make a tutorial on the fs2020 cameras and which keys, I see that you put the camera on the wing and that it runs directly into the cockpit, I still know how to do that, being able to help would help the simulator community, thanks, and a hug from Portugal
Thank you so much man. I really enjoyed your video instruction. I also enjoyed the fact the you chose the former Clark Air Base as a destination. I graduation from high school there back in the mid '80's. Thanks again and happy flying.
I can immediately say to anyone thinking of using this tutorial use it. Clear and simple, learnt the A320 within one video.
Great video. But as I was coming into land the whole plane switched off? As a rookie I have no idea what I did wrong. Was requested to decend to 1500 ft and as I was doing it, the plane turned off. Glided to the runway but no comms to ATC and brakes didn’t work so overshot. Any ideas as to why that happened?
on the part where you start curving to approach the runway, do you just leave autopilot on, or have it on but like change heading, or take manual control?
Thank you so much. Now I can do full flights without the flight sim not responding to my keyboard. Autopilot is great lol
Glad this helped you out! :)
just started playing, i can barely understand anything taught in the tutorial. i feel like giving up cause its so frustrating
i also wanna fly a commercial plane but they dont have a tutorial for it that’s basic
I am not sure if you noticed but your ATC is off. I didn't hear you make mention of it once
really cleared things up for me great video :)
Hey man there are some downsides to this video which I wanna point out:
1. There are many procedures done wrong when setting up the aircraft on ground.
2. I would recommend teach people how to tune in frequencies via the frequency panel in the a320 and not the atc one.
3. The flight directors are extremely important if you're gonna fly without autopilot
4. I would recommend showing people how to plan a flight using the MCDU and not the world map
5. A important feature whilst on ur final approach is the approach phase in the performance page which will calculate you're speed via the weight and winds
6. Autobrakes were not set.
7. Constrants (CSTRS) are really important to show you what altitude ur supposed to be on in that waypoint
8. If you want to do an autoland (like you did here) you're supposed to have both autopilots pushed to flare the aircraft and maintain its centerline, other than that using 1 autopilot is really bad for landing.
9. Lastly, I would recommend for you to teach the viewers to not rely on the VFR map for navigation.
I appreciate your feedback but this video is not meant for that. This video are for the people that dont really care about the technical stuff and just want to get up and fly. It is not meant to go into detail with how to fly the a320 because if it was the title would state differently. If you watch my videos you would know I am not endorsed on an a320 IRL so I dont know all the technical details. Lastly, this is a video game not the real deal. This is not how to become a real a320 pilot step by step guide. I am gonna break a few rules im gonna do as I please in the game. The point of the video was to show how to setup and IFR flight for them new people who dont really give a crap about being realistic. You can see for some people it was a miss but, for majority out there they got what they wanted.
@@Decivye I do get you're point, but I've been flight simming for 5 months and have no real life experience with any plane for that matter, what personally kept me playing this game was what there was to learn because of the feeling of achievement, I don't think people will have difficulty inputting a flight plan by themselves and filling out the mcdu, I didn't take a long time to learn it. Another point is the autopilot, u still shouldn't use 1 autopilot for landing since the aircraft ain't gonna flare and is gonna cause a 800fpm landing nor will it keep centerline. In summary, I get you're point very much but there are many people here that want to play this game realistically.
@@bolt8130 and with that there are videos meant for players like that and it will show in their titles. again this video was for the people who dont care about being too technical which for the most part my viewers are not.
hey, when I was loading up my flight, near the end of the route, one of the waypoints wasn't connected to the next but the rest were, how do I fix that?
Im having the same issue
Thanks that really helped a lot I am able to do full IFR flights now!
Awesome Full IFR flight! Thank you.
You deserve more subs sir! Safe skies
Thank you I appreciate the kind words! Happy flying! :)
Great video! What exactly does LOC and approach mode do?
Thank you glad you enjoyed it! LOC makes autopilot line up with the localizer and approach mode lines up with the glide slope. If you want to know more about it watch my ILS videos :)
@@Decivye I sure will. Thanks again.
Great vid as always ,but if you realised Atc voice was not switched on , why not restart the video?
After that landing Ryanair would want to hire you
How about to setup manually inside aircraft ? can you make another video thanks
You want the half full experience i see. Using the mcdu or what it is called in this sim is not even near life. It is for obvious reasons simplified from pilot to toddler. So we gamers actually don’t learn to fly for real. Haha. It is fun to use the flight planner inside cockpit and set up nav and stuff like that.
When I mouse over ALT to engage manage mode, my cursor only shows a hand , no pointer.?
Same. Can’t find a solution
Drinking game - take a shot every time this fella says "guys"
One hell of a game there how many of you making it out alive? haha
Even if i was drinking shandy i would be on my back five minutes in
Great video! This is just what I was after to help me fly IFR. Cheers! Almost thought you were gonna loose it when you landed, great keyboard control :)
Thank you much appreciated my friend!
okay so atc isnt giving me the option to go to ground services or req pushback. This is so goddamn frustraiting because there litterally isnt an option to pushback or ground service, nothing. Please help.
beginner in flight sim here. I like your content! I would like to see RNAV landing tutorials on various planes such as the A320, CJ4, and the 787. I have noticed that on the A320 you get the glidepath but that is not the case while flying the CJ4 and the 787.
Thank you glad you enjoyed! I have done ILS landings with the 787 I have a tutorial on that as well on the channel. I have not flown the CJ4 so I dont think I will be making any tutorials on that any time soon but maybe somewhere down the line sure :)
thanks for the full explained tutorial
Wow! Thank you so much, out of all the tutorials this one made it clear and sound for me, I’ve always got confused on when to descend and how to descend and after I watched this video I now understand how you do it, you make it so simple and straightforward to understand. Thanks!
Great video in information but couldn't finish got tired of hearing the same thing over and over again not trying to judgmental just trying to put out a perspective that will better the video other than having to listen to the same thing over and over again this video was informative thanks you 👍🏻
Thanks for creating this!
Useless doesn’t work for me as i am asking for high altitude flights and i am getting 9000 feet cruises, please update this video to modern mfs.
Liked and sub! Getting a pc soon. Can't wait to play.
thanks for the support! Happy flying to you when you get your PC! :)
@@Decivye Wow! The legend responds after this long! Thanks mate.
@@fleegerfishing6694 Forever and always!
Bro auto pilot doesn’t work the auto heading thing just sends me in circles and altitude select doesn’t work
my guy pitched up like a rocket ship lol
Thank you so much, I just got into this after not playing flight sims for years. I came from fsx but even then I barely understood it. Thank you so much!
I’ve been trying to play with game with only my keyboard and mouse
Awesome video for Beginners . Thank you very much .
No worries!
Why didn’t you just turn on the atc voice for the video…clicked away because of this
Absolutely butter landing 👌🏼

Good Video for people like me who are totally new to this. Many thanks
There are many selecting where do you land exactly?
How do you know what heading to fly?
If you have the APU on you wont need external Power
When i enable ILS it never shows the diamonds does anybody know what to do?
i cant taxi cause im sqwrving all over the lines pls help I don't know how to taxi takeoff or anything
Nice video! I was a bit confused and was wondering what the difference between an ILS and a LOC?
Feet it controls to the ground
Any idea why the first engine is always shutting itself down all of a sudden? This didnt use to happen before the update... All it takes is for me to turn off master switch and APU and engine nmb 1 is off, the second keeps running normally.
Strange indeed... I wonder whats wrong
Have not encountered this post update. I did encounter some weird autothrottle issues tho. Patience maybe they will fix this.
I had the same bug. But now it's seems to be corrected with the last update
Why ATC ask different altitudes than flight plan has?
It won’t let me do a ILS approach can someone help?
Sometimes I can’t engage managed heading mode. If I touch that dial and it leaves managed heading it just won’t go back.
Did my first IFR flight, the plane kept turning off the path. Any help?
Turn off autopilot and re align yourself with the line on the map, when you are in line, turn autopilot back on
Just now got it ifr procedure 🎉thanks
Does anyone know the name of the song @18:17? Thanks for any help here.
I got you fam! MitiS & MaHi - Tribute
Thank you for this video. In trying to figure out the Garmin radios and all lll the various terms in Navigation, I'm going crazy! This simplified autopilot system will train me😮😅. What about adapting a route thru mountains? Is it still automatically preferred? Who flies without a joystick? It's essential flying fun.❤😅
i didnt know you had to enable approcch mode...
Hi, guy, liked a lot your video, explained my doubts about input FP into FMC (not needed, thanks God !), so, one tip I give you, as I don´t have joysticks, or thrust levers on my PC setup, I use only the keyboard and sometimes, the 3d buttons and levers directly on plane cockpít, and I can tell you, that, when you cross the head of the runnway, during landing, you can just turn off autothrottle, and put thrust levers into idle, and turn off autopilot, in order to do a flare and lay down gently with rear landing gears onto the runway. And that´s it. A very nice video ! Congrats !
Hey! my ifr doesnt tell me to decent, so when i arrive at the airport to land, im still at 6000ft and never get any demands to decent. You got any tips for what causes that issue?
Since only *JUST* starting playing myself on PC (Xbox for windows 10) the live weather function has ceased to work entirely… anyone else having that issue?
Video was good until that fucking music started haha
i was runway insite about 2000 alt ILS captured and then for some reason when i clicked approach the plane's speed shot up to 250 and i started climbing like crazy :(
nvm restarted my try and ir worked great i must have mis clicked auto thrust or something, thank you!
Thank you. It was fun.
glad you enjoyed!
If you are ever wondering how to start up your plane, use the check list, this will help you with whatever aircraft you are in
I flew a longer flight than this but I dont know when to turn on LS
Whenever you feel, then turn on approach mode when both pink diamonds are intercepted
I was hoping this video would show how to do a ifr flight directly in the radio in the 320. Doing it in the menu is easy and automatically feeds into any aircraft. Anyone have recommended youtube videos on how to setup ifr in the plane? I got the boeing down but the 320 is a different animal
Very informative for amateurs, the only question, the ATC last said 2600, then with auto pilot, how did u descend? To get to landing
I know a solution to using keyboard easier. If you use the software, wooting double movement, and select the movement keys in the software that you use in the game, you can rebind the keys in game to what is essentially a controller stick.
Yeah keyboard controls seem very bad. Every time I just barely touch keyboard controls my plane goes crazy out of control. In some cases even crash. Xbox controller is alright once the sensitivity is turned down.
Yeah, it's pretty bad hard to control. Looking to get my hands on a flight stick soon!
You can make your mouse to work like controller with a program. -> --ua-cam.com/video/fT4eWKYScr0-/v-deo.html-
This is more valuable than gold! I just did everything... I want to cry of happiness haha Thank you thank you thank you!
Glad this helped you out! :)
Hey man, ty so much for this video. I just started MSFS, on Xbox Series S, I’ve been flying the CJ4 for a little while having pretty good success, and recently bought the Thrustmaster HOTAS T Flight full kit, but haven’t had much time due to work to set it up. I’ve been wanting to try the A320, and I was having a lot of trouble with it, until I watched your video. Ty so much for making this video to explain it in simple terms. I’m not a pilot actually (I’m a truck driver, lol) but yeah, after applying what you said I made a very successful flight from Miami Fl, to Jacksonville Fl. Unfortunately I couldn’t get to the gate after landing because there was a graphical error on the taxiway causing the plane to get stuck, lol 😂. Anyways thx again, hope to see more beginner videos like this again sometime 👍🏻
Im really happy to hear that I have helped you out! Glad you enjoy the videos! Happy flying! :)
Do not fly the cj4 it is probably one of the worst modeled aircrafts and is the most unrealistic plane in the game, known fact. It has its nickname as gta plane amongst the forums
this is so much more helpful than the dumb training missions, thank you
This helped me SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! THANK YOU!
No Worries!
I think Manila ATC is broken, i dont have voiceover either
I don't like ILS because once you are airborne you cannot make any changes to the AP.
Why didnt you turn on the flight director? I tried to do an IFR today, the aircraft spawned ready on the runway with the FD ON. What is it for?
It gives you a visual cue on the primary flight display to indicate where the airplane wants to be. When turned on, there are magenta crosshairs displayed over the artificial horizon and they move based on the vertical and lateral courses that are set in the flight plan and/or what's programmed into the autopilot mode control panel.
You should have just restarted the sim and not go through with the ATC response.
how do you set your altitude hold to 4500ft??
i only set it in steps of thousands
If you have a Flight Plan fully setup then you can have the aircraft fly that plan perfectly -
1. set throttle to CL detent after take-off (the autothrottle then looks after everything throughout the flight).
2. Make sure Flight Director (FD) is on before you take-off then when you activate the autopilot the aircraft computers will follow the flight plan exactly - no need to input heading or course info - only altitude info needs to be adjusted by the pilot.
Is “engaged heading mode” or whatever it was called a forgot now lol the same as “track mode” now or is it different. Thanks.
Landed that hard on a VA 747-400 years ago when I saw a bottle of whisky on the flight deck. Good times!
I’m playing on cloud gaming
How did you manage to turn the ATC voice on mines still off
I had my alltitude at 6000 and heading. All it did was it went out of control, didn't follow my flight plan. then I just crashed. Can you tell me how to stop this bs?
Don’t set the runway heading. Set heading to where your first “checkpoint are”
I can’t get the plane to climb to my set altitude
you need to "lock it in", for example when you set altitude when using mouse, press scroll on altitude knob
Nice also whenever I go to get the atc menu or checklist menu I’m on a Xbox x and the ai copilot takes over and crashes the plane what can I do abt that
Turn off in assists settings
Thanks so much, just completed my first proper ifr flight
Glad I could help!
My auto pilot keeps disconnecting and sometimes the auto pilot will start turning the opposite direction of the flight path randomly. Any thoughts?
know bug for autopilot to go off track. Just click escape and go back into the game it should correct.
Ok so what would the heading be if I took off runway 10
Amazing!!
I didn't I hear "RETARD!" while landing?
Why is my a320 keep going random directions when i engage managed heading mode?
Hi, will this still work for the FBW A320, will the MCDU automatically be filled in?
I have not actually tried it out with the FBW mod but I think it should!
