Not sure what your knowledge is but id like to see and learn more about types of RNAV/ILS approaches. I see RNAV X, Y, Z, A and all types of RNAVS. Also ILS Y and ILS Z. I usually just look for an ILS without letters lol

Most helpful video i've seen about ms flight simulator. The other tutorials involve being sat typing cryptic codes into a tiny computer for half an hour, this is much better. Thankyou.

Currently doing round the world in a 747-8 began at EGLL flew to KJFK. currently on the leg between KJFK - PHNL. All using sim brief and doing it manually. Thanks to your tutorials. This is brilliant for beginners tho.

auto pilot is good for 1st 50% of most flights then fails very frustrating, never landed correctly yet

Hi James. Ok well. I never saw this video when you first made your ILS flight plan. My flight plan was to a different Helsinki airport. So that’s solves the different waypoint problem. Now I guess I’ll start over with your airport. My airport had no ILS runways. Anyway, back to the drawing board. I think it will be better now. Thanks.

Awesome tutorial series! Helped me immensely as a beginner on the Xbox. One observation I did have is that the ATC is calling out flight levels that don't match my legs flight levels. I came in way to high the first time at KSFO so the next trip I kept to a lower altitude and descended way early to be ready for approach and final. Have you noticed this? Thanks again!
I have, ATC is pretty broken and expected massively unrealistic declines, I keep it turned off and get much more enjoyment from the game

I always fly from Manchester because I know the airport very well. I have done a flight from Manchester to Jersey channel Islands.

Love your videos, I have Xbox not PC as well and would get annoyed seeing things on YT videos for PC I couldn't do on Xbox.
I usually do ILS and did figure this out on my own, but any advantage or reason you would choose a LOC approach vs an ILS? Curious if you have a video on that bg chance.

Can you upload Airlines liveries?. For Example Singapore, British Airways, Qantas etc.... or do we have to wait till its available on the Marketplace on Xbox Flight Simulator?...
Hi Marcel! Unfortunately it’s not currently possible to upload custom liveries on the Xbox version, unless Microsoft allow users to upload to the in game marketplace in the future, but there has been no word on that yet. If anything changes on this front we will be sure to let you know!
Just to add, community uploads and a freeware section on the Marketplace IS on Microsoft’s roadmap for the game, there is no set date on when this will arrive as of right now or if it will include custom liveries, but it’s promising news!

When flying is there a way to bring up the world map? I say this as I was just randomly flying and got sidetracked with something .When I went to the GPS map I was over water and only showed blue and there is limited zoom , Basically I had no idea where I was
As they have the globe when picking a departure/arrival surely it would be simple to just included that in game ?
Unfortunately not, however, if you press LS and then select the flight assistant, you can request a list of nearby cities, airports or landmarks, select one and it will give you a marker in game for that location, that way you can fly towards it and back to solid ground!

Hello. The new AAU update has made a good bit of this obsolete. For example, when you load up your "low/high altitude" plan it doesn't pop up on the FMC. Any chance we can have an updated tutorial?
Once again thank you so much for your videos. This evening I created the same flight and was able to takeoff and reach cruising altitude on my Xbox series x. I do have a couple questions. Do you have a setting guide or video of what should be on to get the ATC completely turned on. I could not hear any of the instructions. (flight tower) My sound is working though. I’m wondering if I disabled some settings. Also, once I save a flight plan and go back into it, the in flight menu no longer works. (Another words, when I push down on the left stick, the menu does not appear) Have you experienced that. Once again, thank you for your time.
same here set flight plan and then it takes no notice of it when it gets near to airport, must have a faulty game in two years never landed properly maybe game is just not for me
Thanks for the video. I had exactly followed these steps. However, my FMS isn't showing flight levels and speed to the right of each way point. Also the route with the pink line is not showing up on the screen. Is there a way to fix this?

Need help, the only plane where i can do it is the a320neo, the other planes when i make a plan as video, they wound follow the route, only plane i can fly now is the a320 neo other planes i dont have the route in display nothing but only in the a320neo it work
hello I know this video is old. just wondering if you are still flying in MSFs , I recently took interest in the 747 and trying to learn how to use the autopilot and take off. my question as of today what NVidia driver version are you using because the one I'm using is the latest 556.12 and is absolutely a mess. i want to roll back but cant remember which one is working well with the sim. thanks any info would be appreciated. i subbed to your channel. by the way i have a rtx 4090 what do you think of auto fps should i download it and use it with msfs.
Awesome videos. So i downloaded some new content specifically north american flights in the air bus. Game starts up at the hold short runway 23r departing Las Vegas to Los Angeles. How ever my throttle wont go past 14% and immediately returns to 0. Im playing on xbox series x using elite2 controller. Any ideas why my throttle wont work??

How do you keep the plane to the flight plan?, i fly from Visby to Arlanda just to learn ILS and the plane follows the plan from the beginning after turning on AP with the Heading but once it starts getting close to Arlanda it should turn but it just keeps going straight, can't figure out why.
What altitude would an A320 cruise at on a short-haul flight such as Manchester to Liverpool? I assume that it would begin to descend almost immediately.
some of the shortest recorded A320 flights (of around 15-20 minutes) have a cruise altitude of 7075ft and begin descent just 10 minutes into the flight!
Great video mate, but when I try to do the longer flights, after like 15 to 20mins it pauses my flight and throw me on the menu which is pretty irritating, any tips for that
Try a hard reset on your console, are you on series X or S?

Hello James, have you any idea why the easy flight plan for the 747 does not load any longer. I have tried it with a flight I saved when watching your video and I did a fresh identical flight plan but both do not load into the aircraft any longer. This seems to be since sim update 15.

I have a question. I do the flight planning the way it’s supposed to be but for some reason every time I look at the flight plan on the fms, the points at which altitude im supposed to be at confuse me. For example, say I have to be at 10,000 ft at a point, like e.g. DIPMO and then at the next point the fms says I have to be at 18,000 ft?? Every time I set up a flight this happens. Can you explain please?
yeah currently happening to me i’m not really sure there’s no flight plans with a consistent climb to cruising altitude they all level out at like 5,000 feet for 50 miles.

If you have the choice I would go for the X, this is the most demanding game on the console at the moment and you will certainly benefit from the X’s extra capabilities.

@@ct9037 It would, and it's a biggun! plenty of additional content to purchase too so be prepared for it to take up quite some space. The internal storage is more than enough though.
