Love our 2021 Forester! For anyone in between this and an Outback, the Forester is about a foot shorter but still has great trunk space. Shorter length is super handy if you live in a city and need to parallel park.

We used to have a 2015 Forester and it was a great vehicle. Maintenance costs are a bit high but my wife loved it. However, then she got pregnant with twins and combined with our 18 month old, that wasn’t going to work anymore. So we upgraded to an Odyssey and couldn’t be happier.

We have a 2014 Forrester and it was our largest car up until 18m ago (3 kids + 80lb dog). When we went from 2 to 3 kiddos it was MUCH cheaper to buy new car seats than to upgrade our vehicle. We drove cross country multiple times and made it work. Easy to add a car top carrier for longer trips. still drive it and love it. May replace in the next few years and hope I can replace it with another Subaru. Final note - hit a deer at 65mph with no time to slow down and the vehicle was a CHAMP. Felt extremely safe and was able to maintain control with no issue.

I love the comment, "looks like a Fisher Price phone." That describes it exactly.

    I owned a 2016 forester premium! Never a problem
I had 225k when I sold it to another Subie lover!!

Our 2023 Forester has been great for our family! It’s ideal when you want a roomier car but need something that can navigate a dense city.

I have the 2010 Forester XT version that just hit 100k with an actual 4 speed automatic transmission. So far I’m enjoying it. The only way I would upgrade is if they made it with a turbo version.

Also as someone who watches a lot of youtube car reviews, most of those are pretty long and mostly talk about the car itself. Appreciate that your videos are mostly family focused, short, and to the point!

Yeah, that multifunction panel is a deal-breaker for me. I can't believe that safety-obsessed Subaru put that attention-sucking thing in every one of their cars. Hoping the upcoming Outback redesign addresses it.

The safety assisant features in the forester beat all the competition

If it had turbo as an option (like they used to) it would be such a contender today. Unfortunately, the power is not there as it is.

In the touring mode there is no home link ( garage door opener). So if that is important to you so you don’t have the remote hanging off you sunvisor I would look at the next model down. But it has all the other bells and whistles, maybe too much!

But do we buy last generation 2024/2023? Or splurge on this new generation? My husband needs a new vehicle now and wants a forester. We are torn between generations. New has higher cost of course, and ugly bulky screen. But better interest rates for new than used car. I’m trying to talk him into a used, low mileage 2023/24 touring model. Wondering if that’s the best choice though.

Same engine, so it's up to your preference really. Some people like how 2024 looks.

Touch screens are annoying when it's -40 (well everything is when it's that cold in the morning). Also while the idea of a rearview camera is great, why couldn't it just be in that huge screen on the console? For us older people, that is where our bifocals work, not when we look up.

For the same price someone could get a RAV4 hybrid base model

I have a 2019 Forester, and I really thought I might get a newer one when they had an even better infotainment system (it seemed pretty good for 2019). I now don't think it's ever going to happen. It seems like they made the big screen worse and I can't believe how old the instrument panel looks. Why are Subaru (and everyone else) so slow to get to a really modern, digital instrument panel?

The nonadjustable headrests at a forward angle really made my neck sore while driving. I understand it was safety measures for this new generation but still. Annoying long term...

It's pretty similar to the Ford Explorer that was using the same design for years hahaha --the design is not the best but that's the only I can say, Subaru is excellent but the design is poor a bit

Please stand beside the vehicle so we can see it. I know it’s easy to forget sometimes when your job is to be a presenter, but no one is watching to see you, maybe hear your opinions, but we are here to see the vehicle. Get out of the way, please.

Amateurish review. Skimmed some of it and left. Do you really have to scream at your audience? Is your regular audience the hearing impaired?
