My favorite book of the year has been Bookshops & Bonedust because it felt so relaxing to read and it was just so heartwarming. I rarely find books that just feel relaxing and lighthearted and I love the way the author writes stories. It also made me excited for cozy fantasy to possibly become my favorite genre 😊
Love so much seeing Half a Soul! I’ve also been buying some really pretty editions recently. With Spark of the Everflame, I liked it ok but heard the 2nd and 3rd books are amazing. Great half a year 💚
Juniper Bean is so much fun! I immediately bought the second one. 💛 I’m tempted to just go ahead & buy the rest of the Everflame series, after hearing that. 😅
This is the second one of your videos I am watching, and I just have to sat how much I love the colour-coded/rainbow you've got going on with your bookshelves.
I loved Heartless Hunter & Just For the Summer soooo much! 💙 I need to read CC series and Divine Rivals soon. Love all of Ashley Poston books so super excited for A Novel Love Story. I plan on reading for the readathon this week.
My favorite fantasy so far this year is One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig. Absolutely loved it! I gave it five stars - gothic, atmospheric, magic, romance, family dynamics, a quest. It was amazing!!! I'm surprised to not see more people talk about it. I can't wait to read the sequel (once it's available at my library).
The Hobbit is one of my all time favorites!! Some great books here that I’ll definitely be adding to my TBR. I’ve also definitely been wanting to reread hunger games lately…this seems like a perfect time!
I totally feel you with like Powerless and some other romantasies that have blown up this year but I swear if we have anything in common book wise (which I really think we do lol) you will love Spark of the Everflame (and Glow and the rest of the series!!!) as much as I do!! I am obsessed. Kind of hoping you read it soon so we can gush about it 😂🙈
Ahhh well I’m happy to say, it will be on my July TBR! And I have a pretty chill month coming up, unlike the last couple weeks. 😂 So I’m confident I’ll finally get to it!
My favorite book of the year so far has been The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. I still have not watched The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because I didn't really care for the book, but I love the other Hunger Games books 😅
I was also disappointed with Funny Story. To be fair though I already went into it with low expectations and unfortunately I was proven right. Just For the Summer is one of my favorite books of the year. I haven't been doing well with my goals for the year. I'm hoping to turn that around.
I am halfway through - Just for the Summer - right now. Abby is a new author for me this year and I LOVE everything she has written. I also loved Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows, the audiobooks were absolutely amazing. I am looking forward to - The Lost Story - by Meg Shaeffer. I loved The Wishing Game because of the Foster Care portrayal. We adopted both of our littles from Foster Care, so I loved that portrayal in the story since it doesn't occur all that often in fiction. I am looking forward to - The Games gods Play. The book is absolutely beautiful, so I hope the story is good.
Awww I loved to hear that you have adoption story as well! There’s so many kids out there that need a loving home. 🥲 I’m definitely going to have to look up Games Gods Play! 👀
Not you on here looking adorable! 😊 Never tired of hearing about Miss SJM!! 👏👏Me and my daughter are itching to get to the reappearance of rachel price.
This has been such a rough year for new releases! I’ve found some excellent ones but I’ve also gone months where nothing struck me as being special. Maybe things were rushed out during lockdown and this is a market correction? Lots of my fave authors are between books this year. I think it’s fair to not want to invest your time in untested indie books! Self-published and small press books usually haven’t been edited thoroughly. Good editors don’t just catch copy errors; they adjust pacing and tell authors where to add or remove things for plot and pacing reasons. I also secretly think that if an author is good enough, she’ll eventually get picked up by a bigger publisher that will fix the issues. 🤷♀️
I just finished Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent, and I’ll agree that indie can be hit or miss, this was an incredible story about strength, overcoming fear and odds, and the sacrifices made to have a better world. Little 🌶️ but amazingly well written overall
I’m so happy that you love Frieda McFadden! Abby Jimenez has really taken over my year and I think if I did this tag that I would answer just for the summer for all of them 😂
📖 Tell me your favorite book of the year so far!
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries
Its a tie between HOFAS and A Feather so Black!
Just for the Summer
Ruthless vows, just for the summer & house in the cerulean sea!!! Sorry I couldn’t pick just one 😅

I love that so much! I still need to read that one, but cozy fantasy is the best & I need to read more too. 🥰
Love so much seeing Half a Soul! I’ve also been buying some really pretty editions recently. With Spark of the Everflame, I liked it ok but heard the 2nd and 3rd books are amazing. Great half a year 💚
And a favorite read of mine Juniper Bean Resorts to Murder

Awww thank you! It’s not always convenient but it’s so satisfying to look at. 👏🏻
I loved Heartless Hunter & Just For the Summer soooo much! 💙 I need to read CC series and Divine Rivals soon. Love all of Ashley Poston books so super excited for A Novel Love Story. I plan on reading for the readathon this week.
Ahhhh so excited you’re joining us this week! It’s going to be the best. 😍
You HAVE to read Divine Rivals soon!!!!!
Love watching this tag, too ❤ it’s great to see what books have had an impact versus the quantity of books someone has read. 2:20
Couldn’t agree more! 🙌🏻
ive watched so many mid year book tag videos, they are very enjoyable🙂

Any time is the perfect time in my book!
LIV YOU HAVE TO READ SPARK OF THE EVERFLAME!!!!! Each book just keeps getting better and better I promise it’s sooooooooooo worth it !!!!!!
That’s what everyone says! I promise I keep putting it on every monthly TBR until I read it! 😂🤭
My favorite book so far this year was Song of Silver, Flame Like Night and the sequel, Dark Star Burning, Ash Falls White. Both strict 5 stars for me!
Oh wow, I have Song of Silver but will have to bump it up on my list now! 🙌🏻

I absolutely love this tag! So happy that you uploaded one again🤩
I’ve never read The Hobbit. Will definitely listen to the audio. Enjoyed movie night.
You will LOVE it then! That was such a fun night. 🥰
Love this book tag! Thanks for posting! Just for the Summer is probably my favorite read of the year so far!
Glad you enjoyed! 🫶🏻
same here, this mid year book tag is so good 🙂

The movie for Ballad was so much better than the book for me. 🤭 I got bored with the book, so I definitely recommend giving it a go!
Heartless hunter sounds so stinking good! I need to find a copy so badly!
It’s hard to find in stores!
I was also disappointed with Funny Story. To be fair though I already went into it with low expectations and unfortunately I was proven right. Just For the Summer is one of my favorite books of the year. I haven't been doing well with my goals for the year. I'm hoping to turn that around.

Oooh that would be so fun to read together! It’s longer but so easy to fly through. The audio is a must!

This is so true!
This is my 2nd year doing this tah on my channel. Such a fun bookish traditional TAG. 📚🧋
I gave Funny Story 4,5 stars, i really enjoyed it haha
I can see why people do!
i loved funny story, i flew through it🙂
When almost all our answers are the same! This is how I know we were meant to be friends! 🤣😘💕
I literally love that & you so much! 😂🥹
I just finished Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent, and I’ll agree that indie can be hit or miss, this was an incredible story about strength, overcoming fear and odds, and the sacrifices made to have a better world. Little 🌶️ but amazingly well written overall
Carissa Broadbent is definitely a win in my book! I loved Serpent & also have this one I hope to read at some point. 🙌🏻
I have been rereading Agatha Christie books which I love! She is my all time favorite author.
I need to read more of her books!
Just for the summer was also perfection 💪🏻
I'm scared to read One Perfect Couple now 😅
Please don’t be! The vibes were great, there just was never a big twist. 😜
Your hair is adorable!!
I hope you enjoy Spark of the Everflame!! I really liked it :)
I’m so happy that you love Frieda McFadden! Abby Jimenez has really taken over my year and I think if I did this tag that I would answer just for the summer for all of them 😂
I mean, can you blame me? 🤭 So glad you understand!
I was obsessed with the hunger games when it came out 👏🏻👏🏻😍
I’m still obsessed! 😂
The Hunger Games is my Roman Empire too😂😂
THANK YOU! ♥️♥️♥️
I LOVED and highly recommend The Book of Doors by
Gareth Brown
Ooooh okay! I’ve been curious about that one but no one has said anything about it!
I’m so glad you are loving middle of the night…everyone hates on it 🙈
I love anything he writes! So you can’t trust me. 🤭
Heartless Hunter was perfection 👏🏻
Couldn’t agree more! I have an ARC of Rebel Witch & it’s taking everything in me not to start it. 🤭
51/75! Great job 🎉❤
Spark of the everflame was good.
I sure hope so! 💛
❤❤❤
Funny story I DNFed
