Haven’t heard any conversations on Weight specifically but that’s why testimonies are SO IMPORTANT for the body!!! Love what you’re doing @Lecrae , you’re giving people the space to speak their truth and heal others through their testimony 🙌🏿🔥💖
I think it is sooooo important to understand that not everything we go through needs to be prayed away. Jesus may purpose for us to walk through something for our good, and we need to not rush through it or pray it away. Trust that God has you where He has you for a reason. Walk with Him!
I really appreciate her being transparent about the not so positive things. I feel connected. And I am grateful. I guess i need therapy. My faith is very shaken right now, and i am dealing with obesity right now...and it is very frustrating! lost 12 pounds starting January 1st, and within 1 day, gained 5 pounds! extremely frustrating! Please pray for me. I want to give up. Gonna keep trying tho...
I love these conversations. These are the conversations I would have loved to hear growing up in the church. Everything seemed so polished and perfect that I felt so unworthy. Thank you both for being so honest and real in a public setting like this. May God continue to bless you both.
When I tell youuuu... i am 44yr old today, realizing that I, too, may have been dealing with same spirit of rejection as a pentecostal pastor's kid... maaan!!! 😭 it was too much to put on a Pastor and teacher's kid... the pressure to be perfect... to have it all together... to be gifted.. to crumble quietly bc no one can ever see Rev's daughter like that.. how draining it was/still is...when she said she embraced the language but didnt feel it.. hid behind the mask... maan... and now as a mother... trying to protect my sons from the same pressures... 😭🫂🙏 thank you. So much. Ty.
As a PK and plus size girlie, this was so good and healing for me. Thanks Lecrae for making space and Tasha for your transparency and telling your story.
Obesity is a touchy subject. Usually mental struggles are the root of the problem. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, but unfortunately heath doesn’t. Pray hard, hit the gym, go to therapy, and find a strong support system. I recommend everyone read a David Goggins book 😎💪 #StayHard
I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I watch this show all the time and there are so many special moments and nuggets. You've introduced me to new heroes like Johnny Chang, Dr. Sarita, Nell, but this one Crae. This one I never knew how much I needed this sisters testimony. Not only do I LOVE her music I love what God has done in and through her. She's a giant but i found myself repeatedly saying how much i want to be like her parents. Thank you Lord for the giants of the faith who think they may be doing simple things like raising great kids or leading a small church. Tasha please let your mom (and dad in heaven) know they've made an impact on me to keep going and "do it any way". I hope to get your book soon. Lots of love to both of you for sharing your hearts so deeply during this episode. ❤
Thank you for your transparency. I was there at that point where I had to decide to trust God and have faith or to trust my eyes, and be depressed. And there was nothing spiritual about this moment, meaning that I that time I felt as human as I could feel. I was weary, and with the little strength I could muster, I decided to trust God. I just said out loud, I am going to trust You. I felt a little strength, and then I went to facebook, and the first message I saw was about faith and how God surprises us the most when we feel weary and are about to quit. Thank you again Tasha and Lacrae!
I just finished watching this interview with Tasha. This blessed my heart. I lost my husband in September 2024 and when she described the reasons behind her book “Do it anyway” blessed my soul. I will be reading that soon. I just found your channel. ❤
Lacrae, I love all of your podcasts and guests. Mrs.T. Leonard, you're so anointed and I love you and the love the Lord has put inside of you. This video made me laugh until I cried...like I've done as a kid. Maybe the laughter is familiarity and the tears are truth. May God continue to Bless you both and your entire bloodline.
Woooo, shattered faith. This is where I was when I received a cancer diagnosis. I knew that God was in control, He loved me, but I so agree.. I questioned God also. How could this happen to me, etc. But I love God so much but I had to battle to keep my faith. This section of the interview was so on point for me. Thank you Tasha Cobb-Leonard. ❤
I love this so much. I can quote Tasha’s interlude on “In the Room” with MCM. Currently “Your Power” with Lacrae is on my daily playlist too. This is a powerful interview and I’m only halfway thru
This is a great podcast episode. These topics need to be shared in Black Churches in each ministry that works with EVERY Topic for each respective subject
Break Every Chain carries such an anointing on it! I remember going. through demonic attack one day and I began to sing break even chain, and it immodestly stopped. God bless Tasha Cobbs!
Hey Lecrae! Awesome episode, man 🔥I’d love to see an episode with you and Tobymac - hearing his story, especially with the loss of his son, and also the story behind your song with him on his “Eye On It” album, “Forgiveness”
I am a Bishop's daughter and I can relate. I loved God, but I went through a rebellious stage. At 18, the Lord saved me and I was on fire for Him! I think it's awesome that Tasha didn't have the rebellious phase. I don't see it as doing too much. God has use for children too!
as the church addressing health more is so good. It makes me think about how a lot of times we will see people praying against or trying to cast out disease like diabetes or high cholesterol, but not addressing the reason why we are there. I do believe there are spiritual and physical sides to all things, but it's almost like we overlook the dangers to our health with these things. If we don't address the roots then the symptoms are just going to keep growing and changing. I love this so much. It has my wheels turning too.
I kinda gotta different take on secular artists who have been in the limelight and scrutinized, alot of them battling drug addiction, self-esteem issues, even while appearing to live their best lives. I think, from my opinion, the LASt thing they need is more "show cases" another hit song collab, more public attention from their pain. What truly needs to take place is repentance, some wise counsel, some "come to Jesus", no condemnation but repent first....more songs and eyes on you is only gonna be a temporal relief, but the healing water that Christ gives.....you will never thirst again in that way for fame, temporary pleasure, and money still being your god after we have performed. Some true deliverance happening BEHIND the stage. Ya, know? Where is the changed hearts, the conviction to go and sin no more from these encounters with believers? Because a song will not prove salvation standing at the Judgement Seat of Christ. We say we don't want to "judge" but we can judge righteously. The only Star is Christ. Come to Him......come out of the world, the system that will not last.
When I first heard Royalty album- I thought Oh they just lost a baby. I had no clue why I knew that but I knew just to pray. (I was aware that much time had passed from when they recorded the album to when it was realeased but I just knew I was to pray for this). This is confirmaiton of what I heard was correct.
Happy New Season, LeCrea🕊🔥❣️❣️❣️ I would love for a talk about "Church hurt" w Tank of R&B MONEY PODCAST & others who still are suffering from it in their lives. Your honesty w Your Glorious Momma on the PODCAST needs a deeper understanding.
I am so happy Tasha talked about Fertility in the Faith community! There are very few spaces and places as a woman of color where the church talks about this topic with grace and sensitivity. This is so important and even ties into the obesity conversation b/c sometimes people link the two even when they are not directly linked. This makes me want to go even harder as a fertility coach to make sure women of faith know there is a space for them. Thank you Lecrae for this important conversation!
This was a great interview ❤ Keep up the good work. I understand Ms. Tasha Cobbs on a new level, and she made a lot of points about church and religion that I can relate to. Great questions! I felt like I was sitting in on a "Auntie and nephew" conversation 😂.
As someone who struggled with obesity I agree about addressing in a loving way. The negative comments I received made it worse. God had to separate and reset my mindset. Obesity is a mask. The underlying issues have to be addressed.
It’s a song of deliverance - Psalm 32:7. NIV You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. There’s songs like that the the Holy Spirit breathes on and for you, it’s like wow. Freedom. That’s what break every chain was
Beautiful interview, so motivational! Jesus is Alive! God Bless y’all ❤ . The music 🎶 both u guys bless us with is 🔥….Cheers 🥂 and Congratulations 🎉 on the Grammy Award
Time 27:33 Exactly it was shunned! Its a shamed that they “the Church” shamed us! We need therapy and counseling now because of this reason! Jesus Help, Lord! 🙌🏽👏🏾🙏🏾
Topics like obesity have become taboo - are taboo - in the church, especially the black church because black culture celebrates "thickness". The "YOLO" and "Do you, boo" mentality sent the message of silently accepting obesity. Who wants to be called out and/or canceled for body shaming?! So, the turnabout that the church is being lambasted for not talking about obesity is ironic. The real issue is that the church is too busy trying to appease worldly ideologies and have become impotent in wielding biblical influence.
On obesity in the church, people tend to be defensive EVEN to a loving approach. I think that since you don't know how it will be taken so, people rather not say anything. They call it body shaming, no matter what.
Also, its important to take care of your health even if your not obese. Some people who are not obese assume they are healthy. But they eat greasy food, dont exercise, drink excessively, drink pepsi and just because they dont gain weight quickly they think their all good. But it catches up with you eventually. Go get check up and blood work done at least twice a year.
Time 8:30 I’m all off topic off subject. I love them purple, nails, girl purple is my favorite color and the color of royalty, which we are we are the King’s kids and my toes are purple right now. Ok Amen🤣
Me home alone away from everybody.Fighting those right now?Why everybody sees😢😢😢😮😮😮🤯🤯🤯💯💯💯❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥💔💔💔😮💨😮💨😮💨😭😭😭🎤🎤🎤🎵🎼🎶🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Then I first heard it when my mom died
Do you think obesity is adequately talked about in church?
Never. They ignore it
No. It's a sensitive topic and some folks don't have proper knowledge of it or how to treat it.
No. And, in my experience if so, not with the best approach. 🙏🏾🕊️
Haven’t heard any conversations on Weight specifically but that’s why testimonies are SO IMPORTANT for the body!!! Love what you’re doing @Lecrae , you’re giving people the space to speak their truth and heal others through their testimony 🙌🏿🔥💖
Absolutely not.

This is so true. We do need to understand this concept. Our testimony truly comes from our test (experiences)❤
I really appreciate her being transparent about the not so positive things. I feel connected. And I am grateful. I guess i need therapy. it's only touch for lazy fat people. There are obese people I see at the gym everyday getting it in.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor I approve this message! Let's get to the root of these issues with Jesus and therapy! 🙌🏾
Thank you Lecrae and Tasha! Tasha spoke to exactly what I’m going through in my life right now and I don’t even have words. Just thank you!
