I love this! One of the things I feel like Christians struggle to articulate regarding the LGBT+ community, is the fact that God did not make you gay, just like God doesn’t make someone an alcoholic. God doesn’t assign any one of us sin at birth to struggle with. We are born in a sinful world and our flesh has to be crucified to follow Christ.
I teared up when Jackie mentioned that the church needs mother figures too. Hospitality of the moms in the church I grew up in restored me as a kid in many ways. I grew up without a mother in the home and then I got a step mom in 4th grade. She was verbally and emotionally abusive. Those mom's spoke into me and loved me unconditionally for years. When I see them today, as an adult, they are still moms to me. It's beautiful. Don't underestimate your God given gifts just because they aren't flashy. You can still have a ministry field. You are still valuable.
Amen! I received my first mother figure at school. She literally sacrificed so much to save me and my babies lives. If it wasn't for the grace and mercy of God. I'm so happy that people who have went through horrible situations didn't allow themselves to run away from God but to Him.

This conversation was very laid back and honest. I believe Lecrae is a encouraging caring friend at heart and I loved hearing how much he supports and uplifts Jackie. I never really heard him give any credit to the Holy Spirit for Jackie’s gifts as they were not produced in and of herself. I think his struggle with worldly culture and walking in biblically sound truth is because of his hindrance of not experiencing the POWER of the Spirit in his life to a greater degree. We’re all in different levels of spiritual maturation and we all fall short by God’s grace but it’s important like Jackie said that either we’re all in with God or we aren’t. The Bible says we are not to quench the Spirit from speaking and moving in our hearts. We need to be full of Spirit of grace for that reason so the Word can be loud in our hearts. I’m praying for greater desire for truth and thirst for the Lord for brother Lecrae and myself and the body of Christ. I love hearing Jackie Hill Perry because our testimonies are similar. When I first hear her explain these things I finally felt seen, heard and understood because I had been saying this in my circle for years! The burden she carries would seem heavy to someone else, here I watched Lecrae highlight how unbothered Jackie is. Jackie's explanation for being unbothered is simple and powerful. She loves God and therefore loves people through God. I'm so glad I watched.

I’m 40 minutes in and I can honestly say, I am unbelievably surprised how deep and relatable this conversation is. Especially when you both start talking about theological doctrine, I was expecting a charismatic conversation. Almost even a worldly conversation but I can clearly see you both love the Lord and you’ve opened my mind up to allow more grace to the charismatic side. I’m a presby and care deeply for theology and doctrine but I can see now that I have brothers and sisters in the other body parts of Christ. God bless you both and thank you for this revelation.

Humans are not designed to handle adoration...that's a space designed for God alone, hence most humans be destroyed by it. The best way to stay aligned, in the midst of adoration, is to tell oneself, "all this attention/criticism/adulation, is NOT about me. It's about the person tossing that out. So just do you, do what God called you to do, and walk away," God bless you both.

We are not told our true history in schools nor in the churches.

I am so glad I came across this Podcast!!! Jackie has such a forthright and simplistic way of conveying The Truth of the Gospel and such Wisdom from her view. I'm going to rewatch this and take notes!
This was a great conversation and Lecrae is a great interviewer! I love his style of following the conversation naturally to a new point, sharing his thoughts about it, then pivoting into a question. So many podcasters will mention a question then go into a monologue about it and end by restating the question 2 or 3 different ways. Even if they're the same in content, functionally the latter comes off as less confident and not willing to stand behind a clear question. It also makes the question seem like a means for the interviewer to hear themselves speak instead of having an authentic conversation. Here there were a few times Jackie would ask for clarification because Lecrae inquired like a normal person would, without a million caveats or a monologue to inform the question. It makes for a much better listening experience in my opinion. The long question format is useful for disconnected questions that may require some context, but a part from that case, I'd much rather people be okay asking an imperfect question and using feedback to amend it as needed or a follow-up.

I teared up when Jackie mentioned that the church needs mother figures too. Hospitality of the moms in the church I grew up in restored me as a kid in many ways. I grew up without a mother in the home and then I got a step mom in 4th grade. She was verbally and emotionally abusive. Those mom's spoke into me and loved me unconditionally for years. When I see them today, as an adult, they are still moms to me. It's beautiful. Don't underestimate your God given gifts just because they aren't flashy. You can still have a ministry field. You are still valuable.

I believe Lecrae is a encouraging caring friend at heart and I loved hearing how much he supports and uplifts Jackie. I never really heard him give any credit to the Holy Spirit for Jackie’s gifts as they were not produced in and of herself. I think his struggle with worldly culture and walking in biblically sound truth is because of his hindrance of not experiencing the POWER of the Spirit in his life to a greater degree. We’re all in different levels of spiritual maturation and we all fall short by God’s grace but it’s important like Jackie said that either we’re all in with God or we aren’t. The Bible says we are not to quench the Spirit from speaking and moving in our hearts. We need to be full of Spirit of grace for that reason so the Word can be loud in our hearts.
I’m praying for greater desire for truth and thirst for the Lord for brother Lecrae and myself and the body of Christ. I love hearing Jackie Hill Perry because our testimonies are similar. When I first hear her explain these things I finally felt seen, heard and understood because I had been saying this in my circle for years! The burden she carries would seem heavy to someone else, here I watched Lecrae highlight how unbothered Jackie is. Jackie's explanation for being unbothered is simple and powerful. She loves God and therefore loves people through God. I'm so glad I watched.

I’m 40 minutes in and I can honestly say, I am unbelievably surprised how deep and relatable this conversation is. Especially when you both start talking about theological doctrine, I was expecting a charismatic conversation. Almost even a worldly conversation but I can clearly see you both love the Lord and you’ve opened my mind up to allow more grace to the charismatic side. I’m a presby and care deeply for theology and doctrine but I can see now that I have brothers and sisters in the other body parts of Christ. God bless you both and thank you for this revelation.
first time seeing ur podcast. God bless you young man! My teen daughter told me recently that she believes God never intended for HUMANs to be raised up as "STARS." Humans are not designed to handle adoration...that's a space designed for God alone, hence most humans be destroyed by it. The best way to stay aligned, in the midst of adoration, is to tell oneself, "all this attention/criticism/adulation, is NOT about me. It's about the person tossing that out. So just do you, do what God called you to do, and walk away," God bless you both.

Wowwwww.... I so appreciate Jackie because of the simplicity of her works yet she's soooooo deep! She's a samurai that for me swept in with such unapologetic annihilation. Her delivery pushes... even when unfocused and in another headspace. I so appreciate her process, deliverance, and willingness to answer...to be obedient to the call of the Most High. My mind is literally like the matrix whenever she speaks... unanswered thoughts and questions revealed. Viable organic seeds planted that causes thirst in some areas and quenches in others. Her words have caused me to block out so many beliefs and thoughts as it pertains to religion and start focusing on the basics of who I really am and moving towards being purposefully driven according to who the Father above intended. I'VE GOT TO PUT IN WORK!!!... HOLY GHOST PLS.... PRAYING FOR THE COVERING OF THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND THE FIRE OF THE SWORD OVER JACKIE'S LIFE & ANYONE CONNECTED TO HER IN THE NAME OF JESUS. @@thearaward6112Most Black Americans are not of African descent. We are the Israelites and the Indigenous Black Americans. Most of us were already in the Americas. Africans were not helping to round up their own people. They were helping to round up the Israelites who had began flooding down into Africa after the Romans destroyed the 2nd Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The Portuguese began snatching Israelite children in 1492 and began shipping them to St. Thomas Island and to Angola. From 1501 to 1517, only those Israelites in Angola, but were born in Portugal were allowed in the U.S. as enslaved people. Most Israelites are still in Africa. We are not told our true history in schools nor in the churches.
I love these young people so much. I'm learning so much from them. I hear so much of what I felt as a young Believer, that it's almost healing. God bless them and may The Lord keep and continue to favor them.

Enjoyed sitting at ya’ll feet today for the truth and encouragement. Several things convicted -many things encouraged. Jackie I appreciate the reminder not to get tribal or worried about the box or label someone thinks I should be in. I needed the reminder to stay in my lane and be obedient using my gifts and personality. I loved that you both admitted struggling with “not thinking of yourselves more highly than you ought”. Wise of God to give us that word and I def can think that way too.

I love his style of following the conversation naturally to a new point, sharing his thoughts about it, then pivoting into a question.
So many podcasters will mention a question then go into a monologue about it and end by restating the question 2 or 3 different ways.
Even if they're the same in content, functionally the latter comes off as less confident and not willing to stand behind a clear question. It also makes the question seem like a means for the interviewer to hear themselves speak instead of having an authentic conversation.
Here there were a few times Jackie would ask for clarification because Lecrae inquired like a normal person would, without a million caveats or a monologue to inform the question. It makes for a much better listening experience in my opinion.
The long question format is useful for disconnected questions that may require some context, but a part from that case, I'd much rather people be okay asking an imperfect question and using feedback to amend it as needed or a follow-up.
