@@Sorastro Maybe you should go over to the video and say hello to get interested people to click on your profile and watch? It's the latest Funhaus GTA5 gameplay.
Thanks a lot Cameron! Whilst I suspect I might be able to broaden my audience if I were to cover GW stuff, as a matter of principle I only cover games that I personally feel passionate about :)
2 years later, this vid is helping me see how the painting process goes for these kinds of figures. I'm used to painting gunpla, which I can take apart and do piece by piece, but painting this as a whole unit is kinda new to me. Watching this makes it a little less intimidating, very impressive work!
It's so good every time. The amount of character you convey in your weathering really shows. There's always a moment when I'm like, I'm not sure if I like this step, and then the next step immediately makes it look good amd it all ties back in. Thanks so much.
If you never have before just go back and watch his hand position on the brush as he performs different techniques. That little thing even unspoken made me a better painter. Amazing what a little change can add to stability and control. As always thank you for sharing and please be safe!
Great weathering techniques! It's something I want to incorporate more of into my own painting, so anytime you throw it into your videos - it helps a ton! Would love to see some cloth weathering tips/tricks in the future.
PS. I label the pots the way you do when making custom mixes in empty pots. I have a series for my Idoneth army. I have wash pots labeled "Deepkin Armor" and "Deepkin Flesh" 👍
Always loved your videos. Still the best IMO. I used them for guides back in the IA days and when Legion came out but then they became more sparse and not current. This video would have been great closer to release a couple of years ago. Still great but I have to go elsewhere for guidance and inspiration these days as the new releases come out. I do miss sitting and painting to your videos as they are my favorite.
Thanks for the kind words! I do appreciate that. In my defense regarding the timeliness of the video, my videos for Legion have to go through a somewhat lengthy licensing approval process (I actually submitted this video 3 months ago!) which makes it hard to stay as "current" as I'd like. But given that the Clone Wars Core Set came out around 12 months ago, I don't think it's so bad that I've just finished the set. You might be pleased to know however that I have submitted a video for the new Anakin figure, so here's hoping that I can release it along with the release of the actual mini! 😁
Awesome speeders !!!! Been using your videos to help my own painting, been really encouraging to try new techniques and experiment with new products !!! Be cool to see your interpretation of the shore troopers
Great work as always. I really started to love highlighting miniatures thanks to you. As your content is getting better and better, I'd love to see you continue your series on Zombicide Black Plague, especially the Necromantic Dragon. Bye :)
Top quality video as always!!! Just a little ask for the future: Would you consider doing a video on Board game Piece painting vs Display/Single model/Competition theory?? It's very noticeable the difference in which you approach large army-type models like the Starwars Legion ones vs the Crisis Protocol ones where each character is unique and it's more painted to a display piece standard than a "nameless-trooper" standard... I've been painting more and more game pieces as of late and I get caught up in the details because I come from the more "display" side of the hobby, and there are times where frustration is unavoidable (e.g. I got guilted into a commission for Axies and Allies painting over 400 individual models... Finished it all in nearly 2 months... I was so burned out afterwards... The client loved the models, but I can notice the exact point where I lost interest...:)
Hi Andrew! No, I haven’t made such a video. Were you interested in how I set things up when filming or just how I might have things when I’m painting for myself (which doesn’t happen as often as I’d like!) 😄
Sorastro's Painting Thanks for the reply. Interested in how you set your self up when working for yourself. Do you have a normal height desk, what seat you use. Ergonomics etc. I bought the Massive Darkness 2 Kickstarter and am preparing for that with scythe, then SW Imperial Assault.
I managed to magnetise mine but it was really challenging, could you perhaps make a magnetising tutorial for this one cas I am sure there are others out there struggling with magnetizing the sidecar, the pilots and their weapons
Another great video, so thank you as always. If you don’t mind answering, I wanted to ask about which white primer you use, and if you use it through your airbrush. I’ve tried several different brands (Vallejo, Stynlrez or however it’s spelled, etc) and they’ve all covered poorly or been splotchy. I’d love a recommendation for when I need it. Thanks!
Thank you! I favour the Badger primers myself, although I rarely prime in white. White primers do tend to lack the opacity of black or gray primers, so you might want to prime is grey first, then hit it with the white. 🙂
I like to say less is more when it comes to weathering. A little bit goes a long way to conveying that the piece is well-worn, but too much can make it look messy and interfere with your chosen colour scheme.
Fantastic video, they look so authentic! can you break down the pva that you use? like what brand do you use, and how much to dilute it? Thanks and keep up the excellent work
