How would they perform on a Traxxas TRX-4 Defender? I would also like to see these on Sandy the tricked out Sport doing your Crawler Olympics. The scale look has really got me. The forward drive will come in handy on my hill climbs. Your tire reviews are the best on UA-cam IMO. Thanks for all your hard work. Now I've got another set of tires to buy and Amazon wheels.
Been binge watching alot of your videos lately lol. Went from G8 fan to JConcepts fan. From experience only. Where I'm from in Missouri, JConcepts green seems to dominate. Granted, everyone thinks their tires are the best when they have the set, but the facts don't lie... JC is dominant. Also we have TriggerKing out here. Solid axle monster truck racing and the original Bigfoot monster truck origins. JConcepts has worked alot with those guys as well, and makes some killer stuff. I will be getting Bossmans. Hope they do a 4.19 version too. Please test the other new JConcepts tires as well😁. They look awesome too!
Not sure but when I installed the Canyon soft in it it seemed not to fill the tire up completely, so I added another wrap. There could be a little difference in the brands of fridge foams thickness wise. Great job Mr C thx 😊
Very interested in seeing how these did after their unboxing. Forward drive is just relentless; if only they were a little better on sidehilling. Might a bespoke 3D insert help with that a bit? These really intrigue me.
I run CI dual-stage wide foams with the tuning ring in mine and have less issues side hilling, though they're not as "stable" as Tusks, which I think is lug size/spacing. But, just like Tusks, these tires respond well to being stuffed.
I was really looking forward to this video, I’d love to see a comparison between Tusks and the Bossman under the same conditions 😊 Btw. I’m always wondering, if the bump test isn’t more a test for the inserts and how much energy return they will produce🤔
On the bump, I'm more watching the attitude in the air, and the behavior of the tire when it lands; does the rear end swing on impact? does it slip backwards off throttle? how much power does it need to initiate a controllable bump? These are some of the things I'm looking at but not talking about.
JC green man. If we could only use ONE compound on all of our rigs, I dont think there is a single chance for JC to not be "The Compound". And now they started with the more scale-y side of tires... Watch out Proline, watch out... Side hill is the weak point of this tire. Probably better in a wider, lower CG rig. But this is a tire test, not a "lets put you on an overkill rig" 97.6 score, claiming 11th place. 5th best JC tire. Tied in 32nd place on the price/performance, but we all know JC isnt Injora/Fusk cheap
I noticed when dismounting the megas for these that the megas have some ribbing that I bet helps the smudge you see with the bossman, which has none. How do you think the tire would do with a more firm rear insert? Would higher overdrive/underdrive get rid of some of the push?
It’s like the RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires. Can only run them one way and their tread is so off and different from one side to the other. I run them sometimes and it just bugs the crap out of me.
I've been trying to find these for days now. Sold out everywhere. I found one set at RC Addicts but they put a $20 upcharge on them. No thanks I'll wait 😂
@CrawlerCanyon That's the first place I checked. They were sold out. I'll check again. They had the rock blocks in stock but not the boss man. Looks like a great tire!
@@CrawlerCanyon yeeees. We got a Baja Boss in green, what could go wrong? NOTHING, green never dissapoints. The scale people are going to like this one
I wonder how much predator weather helps any tire? I would like to see Tusks vs Bossmans on the twins so they have the exact same conditions at the time of testing.
I am forward drive uber alles so it looks like I'm buying another set of tires. I'd say something about unboxing but tires come in bags. Debagging maybe?
We don't do mini here. I got me them BIG hands, and even the M2 hardware on beadlocks isn't fun-- the stuff you guys have to deal with is a hard pass from me.
@@D.TH.87 Predator compound is really only suitable if you live an an area of "Scotland weather." If at any point the days routinely get above 80ºF, Predator is not a year-round compound. The Hyrax pattern has also show to not really be very good at rock crawling, so if that's what you're planning on doing, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The Trencher is a much better all-around pattern than the Hyrax. The Hyrax is pretty solid as a trail tire, but for trailing, most anything will work well enough.
I just got my first rc it’s a basecamp and your vids are hilarious. Everything brass, HW fusion, and green tires now its rtr. Thinking abt getting Losi 5t would you recommend??
Large scale is pretty ridiculous. They just need SO MUCH room. I don't even have the space to get a 10th scale up to speed, I feel like you need an abandoned airport or a full-on MX track to get a 5T wide open.
I never understand why people try to argue that certain tires are good "after they break in." Sure, there are some tires that do start to do better once they "break in." Rock Beasts in Komp are an example of that in my experience. But a Rock Beast with 10 hours on it still isn't as good as a Tusk fresh out of the package. "It just needs to break in" is the same as saying "I'm the thinnest fat person in the room." Sure you are, but you still have diabetes.
"They're better after they break in" is a popular second, but still far behind "try running them backwards." Also popular, "Try them with this insert." Or "cut this many lugs off." I don't know if it's copium or something else.
@@CrawlerCanyon giving the most benefit of doubt, I think it's often just because we all like to tinker...if we find something that sucks, we like to try and make it better, even if it's illogical to do so. And, I do think sometimes people forget that modifying a tire you already have to make it better is a lot different than buying a sub-par tire and then making it a little better. I'll use Canyon Trails as an example. Canyon Trails are decent tires. Cut Canyon Trails are pretty good tires. S1 cut Canyon Trails are really good tires. But, they're not great....not as good as Tusks, for example. A pair of S1 Canyon's are $25. A pair of Tusks are $25. If you own a set of S1 Canyon's, there's not a good reason NOT to run them. But, I think you'd agree, there are very few instances where I'd recommend buying S1 Canyon Trails over Tusks, at least in the case of a person seeking raw performance. There's a little wiggle-room in that argument for buying CT's from somewhere like Jenny's, but at the end of the day, unless you're getting a set of tires for under $20, I don't see the point in spending money on a tire that you have to modify to make it better. There are so many options that fit into that "great" category right out of the package, it's hard to justify running anything else...even if the "cope" is simply "I want to run a scale tire." All of that said..."run it backwards" deserves nothing but a HARD eyeroll.
Awesome to be able to get some honest info and opinions at the canyon!

Yeah, they're all over the place in thicknesses now. The one with the happy vegetables on the package was THE BEST, but I haven't seen it in ages.

Ahhh bueno! These look extra special to me 👌👌
I hope they come out with class 1 versions of these. That seems to be my go to size these days
I have it on good authority that they will be releasing these and the Rock Blocks in both 1.9x4.19 and 2.2x5.25.

The tread/overall tire shape remind me of a taller version of some old school 2.2 Dirt Hawgs (i believe they were), pre-crawler tire days lol

In my eyes I see this as a more aggressive krawler but in green….cant wait to try them on my class 2 if only it would stop snowing

Might be able to arrange that. Well, not today, as it's suddenly 78º, but it supposed to get "cold" next week.
Hell it’s 9 degrees here today!
Wagwan Canyoneros 👊
so... are the tires a mirror of each other from side to side? and unboxing of tires? starkey?
"Single molds" so the left and right look exactly the same viewed head-on.

11:11 BOSSMAN IS THE NEW TUSK!
So you’re saying you want some bespoke ReVolts..?
Do any of the other jconcepts compounds work for crawling?
Have you thought about testing 1.0" tires? I love listening to your videos at work, but I'm more of a mini guy 😅
We don't do mini here. I got me them BIG hands, and even the M2 hardware on beadlocks isn't fun-- the stuff you guys have to deal with is a hard pass from me.
It’s so hard to know which tire is better than the next when you talk about most JC tires in the same way…. Better than tusks? Better than ruptures?
Watch the video, he talks about it haha
I would put these somewhere in the neighborhood with Hunks, but with more forward drive. The Hunk trades some of that in for better predictability.
14:00 except hustlers,hustlers don’t get better!🤣
Ooh, I think I’ll pick up a set of these
Are these gonna be Daphne’s new tires?
Have you tried running them backwards?
I didn't say it in the opening, but the rear two mounted backwards. To get ahead of the questions.
So,are these a tire that need 3d printed inserts?
what you guys think about proline hyrax predator super soft?
The Hyrax is one of the worst PL crawling tires, to the point where I don't understand why faceless "brands" from Asia keep cloning it.
@CrawlerCanyon ok thanks
