Ningen Isu, a Japanese rock legend.
Ningen Isu are phenomenal, at least if you like old school 70s hard/prog rock à la Black Sabbath and co. They've been a band (with varying drummers) for 30 years now. Also: they aren't wearing samurai costumes. Shinji Wajima, the guitarist and main vocals, is dressed as a teacher; Ken-Ichi Suzuki, the bassist, is dressed as a buddhist monk, and Nobu Nakajima, the drummer is dressed as a yakuza.
What's kind of ironic is that, when it was released, this song was suggested by youtube's algorythm to many people who were watching Baby Metal clips and that that led Ningen Isu to become known in the West. So, basically, a song about someone asking the gods when all his years of efforts and toil will be rewarded was the song that brought them international recognition :D

Ningen Isu covered "21st century schizoid man" by king crimson.
This video seems to be about 25 years ago, and the drummer is probably an old member.

@@allantetristesse5165 The video in question has Masahiro Goto as the drummer so it's probably somewhere between 1997 to 2003. He was also the drummer in 1993 or 1994 so maybe it was shot then.

Think I first listened to Ningen a couple of years ago heartless scat must just came out this is my first introduction to Japanese metal check out a group called Trident, Voltage or Snoopy guess who the drummer is

I know I'm very late to the party, but I have to say Heartless Scat is truly inspirational. Besides killer riffs and solos, the lyrics are really deep and something most of us can relate to. I ve been listening to this song for around 20 times in the last few days.

Ningen Isu translates as "The Human Chair", which was a weird short story from Japan written in 1925. Their main influence is Black Sabbath (Shinji Wajima ("Wazzy") even plays a Gibson SG, as did Tony Iommi) but also with some additional elements of Zeppelin and Kiss. It's great to see old dudes that can rock! :) In an interview, Shinji explained that in the lyrics, he is asking for blessings from the three gods to save him from his constant failures in life, but then at the end (going in a different direction than an American or European lyricist would usually do), he realizes he should not only think about himself, but should ask for blessings for everyone. Most of their songs are either philosophical or are straight horror. @@brewtalityfilmsllc4871 I also recommend Hungry Pride. It's their latest song and arguably their best. But, they do not have a single bad song in their catalogue. I personally think they are one of the best and most important bands to come out of Japan in the last two decades.

I bought what I thought was a set of buttons with LB anime characters on them, but I got ROBBED! I did not read where they send a random button, I thought I was getting a set. I got Asami and Miyako - email me, and I’ll send you one. I didn’t actually pay for them because I had a coupon, it’s freaking expensive to order from Japan, shipping was $130. Ride for Vengeance Blu-Ray was $150 with a T shirt and handkerchief. Be prepared. 😞

That was the first song I heard from Ningen Isu too. My thought was: "Japanese Black Sabbath".

All the members of the real MTH have children and are over 40 years old. It would be interesting to compare them.
