    I been hesitant to pull the trigger on the DB because of the price but since i have a rebel myself i have to get it now. Thanks for the vid. It was much needed.

      Jonathan Spier only issue ive had is the 4 aluminum blocks it comes with to bolt it down to the bed. They are soft aluminum blocks and i never felt the tightness and kept going and ovaled the blocks. Besides that its a wonderful cover and so far its been water tight.

    I'm so glad I found this video/your channel! I had been watching LLOD, of course, and wondered if they had the Diamondback HD for the Rebel. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video. I’m getting one with ram boxes. That will work perfectly. I had three other ones previously on my other trucks. They are amazing covers. I had the HD versions with atv ramp. Amazing.

    Great video. Your rebel’s color is soooooo nice. Damn I wish they offered tan in the 2020 models. I’m looking at buying a rebel this year and diamondback is the way I’m going to go. Tell me, how bad is the leaking from that point in the end? When I’m done with my masters in a couple years I plan on being a travel nurse to see the United States and live in a travel trailer that’s built for off road usage. So I’m wondering how bad it leaks because I’ll be in snow and rain in different states and countries considering I’ll hit Canada going to Alaska. I love the extra storage capabilities that the ram box offers but if the bed is flooding then I won’t get them to have the bed completely water tight. Also thank you for your service brother. Subbed ❤️👍🏼 Blessings~

    Just a note for everyone to keep in mind: Unlike a bed rail mounted cover, the Ram Box covers are being completely supported by the aluminum track rails inside the bed. So even though the HD is rated for 1,600 lbs, the Ram Box trucks are reduced to around a 700 lbs weight capacity or a little less.

      I have a Power Wagon with Ramboxes and I'm thinking about getting a Diamondback HD cover. I looked at the installation instructions on Diamondback's site and I see what you're talking about. The installed cover is resting on top of the factory cargo rails. The Ram owners manual states that the 4 plastic cargo rail cleats can handle up to 250 lbs of tie down force no more than 45° above horizontal, but I couldn't find anything about the rails or rail fasteners. The weight capacity (vertical force) I'm interested in, is the shear force of the fasteners that attach the rails to the bed walls. I would think that is the weakest point unless the bed sidewall holes deform first. Just curious how you came up with the 700 lbs.

      @@Interesting_PlaceboI have a bad memory for the details lol. I did my research coming up on a year ago. When my brain doesn't need it anymore it just drizzles it out my ear. ☹️
      I opted for the Dethloff Contour Rack and skipped the cover because of weight concerns. I think it was the rep at Diamondback. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure they were the ones that knew the rail's limits.
      The whole reason I was doing it was an eventual rooftop tent. I was going to mount it to the cover. I decided to scrap that idea. I've seen other people do it, but they're pushing the limits of the rail imo.

    Good stuff, man. Been looking at the HD for my '19 Ram 1500 Limited. How does it ship and how difficult is the install?

    • @hunterkurdziel2843
      @hunterkurdziel2843 4 роки тому

      Jeremy Gross it ships on a pallet and it’s pretty easy to install. The biggest thing for me was getting it aligned and not having the right tools

    Great video, deffinetly pushed me over to the sold side. Had a question and was curious what you thought, before I hit order on diamondback HD for my rambox... Do you think it's possible to loosen the clamp bolts in the center, release both support arms on the front and back, strap them together straight up in the air, and slide it towards the cab (sort of like the trifold hard covers than lean on the back window of the truck when folded all the way up) for full use of the bed? Instead of removing it completely from the truck. For picking something up you didn't realize was larger than just the back pannel being folded over. Hope the question makes sense

    • @rebeloutdoors1621
      @rebeloutdoors1621  4 роки тому +1

      Yes you could do that, I see what your saying. I’ve just thrown stuff on top seeing how it can hold up to 1,600 lbs. having the AA rack helps too.

    looking to get a water proof cover for my power wagon with ram box, is this really water tight?

    • @AJdeleon05
      @AJdeleon05 4 роки тому +2

      I have this on my '19 power Wagon with Ram Boxes and it leaks a little at the front corners but nothing crazy. I had a hard time with the new c-clamps and went to and 6 hardware and got some bolts that were 4" instead of the 4.5" bolts and it made life easier. Also ditched the nylon nut for old school lock washer and nuts for easy removal later.

    • @rebeloutdoors1621
      @rebeloutdoors1621  4 роки тому +1

      The tailgate side corners have about a 1x1 hole where water does come in, I haven’t notices anything getting super wet unless I’m using a power washer right in that area

    I used to have a backflip cover on my old 2015 Ram that could handle a YETI 105 cooler because it sat too low in the bed. Do you think this cover would allow for a cooler of that size to fit under it and still close?

    • @rebeloutdoors1621

    Currently on DiamondBack’s website when selecting the HD, you have to select your truck… for the Rebel with ramboxes, would you select RAM 1500 09-23 classic 6’4” ?

    I have the SE on my Taco and was thinking about getting one for my RAM with the boxes. Is that the standard size DB for the 1500? I would have guessed it would be have been wider for those without the ram boxes. I don't see an option specifically for 1500s with the ram boxes
