Randy was first and foremost a classical guitarist
agreed. sounds like he is playing a violin
I loved his sound. If he had lived, he could have been as good anyone as he pretty much already was.
@@edkerry87 no it doesn’t
Randy Rhodes is one of the most revered guitarist in hard rock. Unfortunately he only made two albums with Ozzy before he died in a plane crash.
Bob Daisly, the bass player, wrote most or probably all of the lyrics.
Other Ozzy/Randy songs worth checking out:
Any song off the first two albums. Everyone is a classic.
did not know that - rally? does he get the writing cred?
Would really like it if someone gave "Bark at the Moon" some respect!
Especially the video. Ozzy looking like a werewolf. That was awesome.
@@lawrencesantana7253 thank you @ Lawrence Santana! I was starting to think I was the only one. I know that was Ozzy's first after Randy had passed but still one of Ozzy's best(IMO)! 🎸🔥💯🇺🇸😎
Not only do I respect it .....I freaking love it!
The guitarist on that track Randy rhoads started quiet riot, and was a rival to eddie van halen on the strip
CSUN
Randy Rhoads was an astounding guitar player. He was also a brilliant songwriter and collaborator who, as AB Sea mentioned, helped revive Ozzy's career. They made some fantastic music in the brief time that Randy was here. You have an excellent ear, young man.
Bark at the Moon Mama I'm Comin Home Mr Crowley A shot in the Dark
Revelation (Mother Earth) is a freakin must when it comes to Ozzy
Yes please
Definitely, it’s perfection!
Thanks to Randy Rhodes
i AM FOR THAT!!!
Don't forget that his wife helped him continue...
Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde...
I'm so glad to see you ventured into Ozzy's solo stuff. His first 2 solo albums are amazing. Randy Rhoads (the guitarist) tragically died way too young. His work on these 2 albums are jaw-dropping. "You Can't Kill Rock n Roll" , "Over the Mountain", "Flying High Again", "I Don't Know", "Revelation (Mother Earth)" are songs I highly recommend checking out if not both albums in their entirety. I hope you check out more. You have an incredible ear and are able to pick out things most people miss. So you will easily pick up on what Randy can do with his guitar.
Ozzy was a wreck following his dismissal from Sabbath in 1979. Sabbath had reached the end of their run by 1978, with their lackluster album (Never Say Die). Burned out, and drugged out, Ozzy was fired. Interesting to note that on that last tour, a young upstart band from LA opened for them (Van Halen), and by all counts blew the tired Sabbath off the stage. Ozzy went to LA to drown his sorrows, but started up a new band, and recruited another stellar LA guitarist (Randy Rhoads), and updated his sound for the 80's, and had huge success, with Crazy Train being his first hit with the new band. Tragically, Randy Rhoads would die in a senseless plane crash while on tour for the second Ozzy solo album, but any track off those first two albums are great.
Yes, he was only 25 when he died. It's sad to think of what could've been. He may have gone more into a classical direction, who knows? He was studying classical guitar at age 7 at his mom's school, after all.
Such a great loss, indeed.
Always liked this tune especially for the guitar work, but never knew even the name much less the back story of the player. Appreciate knowing. Makes it even more special. RIP you monster.
Could of been different if ozzy’s first choice guitarist Gary Moore had said yes
@@robertphelps1574 Yes. Gary Moore is an excellent player, but remember he quit Thin Lizzy mid-tour the year before, and had had enough of bands that partied too hard. Ozzy was not exactly a good match for him for that.
@@absea7918 I’m glad he didn’t because I saw blizzard of oz both nights at the Hammersmith odeon 1980
Rest in peace Randy Rhodes you will never be forgotten🎼🕸😎🕷☠️⚰️💀🦇🖤🎸
Ozzy Osbourne "You Can't Kill Rock And Roll" , " Over The Mountain" The Original Version's. Thank You Sir.
You can't kill rock and roll is one of Ozzy's greatest songs.
@No One Was a magical time for sure, looking back.
@No One it describes my i don't give fuck attitude about expressing my opinions.
I've seen Sabbath and Ozzy twice, with Randy and one just before he bowed out...Ozzy that is. He is without a doubt a Rock god! People who have seen him know he is so much more than he gets credit for. He gets buried by Sabbath and Randy, amazing in their own right but Ozzy is the core, the meat and potato's! His voice when he sings is known above all others except Freddy Mercury and Robert Plant. Saw Robert Plant this summer and Post Malone. Robert is a Legend above all others and Post brought music back to life for me...I'm 63! My Autistic grandson accompanied me...he loved them both!
Bro, do "Diary of a Madman". My favorite by Ozzy. Randy Rhoads is the 💩 on 🎸
No More Tears... def my favorite Ozzy track after Randy died.
Randy Rhodes 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸RIP! GREAT GUITARIST 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Rock n Roll Rebel on Bark at the Moon is criminally underrated. Just like that whole LP was...love what you do bro! God Bless!
You can't kill rock and roll, tonight and diary of a madman are amazing
Randy Rhoads is another dynamic guitar player! Some of his best playing is on Diary of a Madman!
Ladies and Gentlemen on guitar Mr. Randy Rhoads!!!
This is one time when you need to watch the video...although it's nice having the lyrics because they are just as relevant now as they were back then.
Diary of a madman or killer of giants are 2 that I've never seen anyone react to, and they go to a whole other level as far as music structure. Notes, chords, and scales that ppl WTF? to, till this day.
Possibly one of the best rock guitar solos. R.I.P. Randy Rhoads ♥️
YOU HAVE AN EAR!!! Randy Rhoads was known for his INCREDIBLE HARMONICS! Watch it live,1981 TV show with Randy! He adds little, artistic touches! My fave guitarist behind SRV.
You should check out any of Randy Rhoads' stuff, he is the best rock guitarist of all time easily for sure.* Sadly we only have 2 albums of his... I think he is the only reason we talk about Ozzy Osbourne today. If it weren't for him, he would be a short-lived foot-note in Black Sabbath history, overall...a flash in the pan.
*If he would have lived long enough to mature into his full potential. I believe he was killed due to poor management. No tour bus driver without a pilot's license should ever have been allowed to just steal someone else's airplane and take it joyriding while everyone else was asleep. Thanks a lot, Ozzy (Sharon)...you robbed the world of one of the greatest musicians the world has ever been able to enjoy.
Over the Mountain and S.A.T.O are some other killer Randy era tracks
Jake E Lee also had some killer songs with Ozzy like Bark at the Moon, Rock and Roll Rebel, Never Know Why, Secret Loser and Never
You can`t go wrong with anything of this Blizzard of Ozz album, welcome to the genius that was Guitarist Randy Rhoades Rip.
Ozzy Has a deep rabbit hole!
I've had 2 speeding tickets in 30yrs of driving. Both times I was listening to Crazy Train. No BS.
Lee Kerslake played drums on the first 2 Ozzy solo albums. He passed away in September of this year.
Randy’s mother ran a classical music studio which is why he plays with a unique style with classical guitar influence
I love how Randy Rhodes made his guitar sound just like a train derailing! He is so missed!
Every reaction video I've seen, they talk about how great the guitar is. Randy Rhodes was a guitar master, may he rest in peace
This wasn’t commercial when it first came out. lol
This is just one example of a song that sports teams will use as a soundbyte but not a halftime show
I was front stage at Randy Roades last concert in Knoxville, Tenn. It was a hell of a show, he died later that night in FL. RIP Randy 🙏
I remember the priest at church telling us young kids that if we listened to Ozzy, we would be committing an unforgiveable sin and not to ever come back to church!! We all listened to Ozzy lol!!! This guy is still a legend. Love your vision!
You should check out his song "Over The Mountain", it's a song about astral projection. His song "Mr. Crowley" is about the occultist Aleister Crowley, another Ozzy classic
Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth, And The Life! Romans 10 :9 KJV.
The opening riff came out on the movie "stomp the yard". It was part of one of the songs they stomped to.
Ozzy is a staple of my youth. Would love your reaction to “Mama I’m Coming Home”. It’s a top choice to be played at my funeral.
ah man, when these first couple of Ozzy albums came out - what a blast of fresh air - and the live shows ?!!!! 🤘😎👏
I really like your breakdowns of the Music and the Lyrics. Many "Reactors" just say if they like it or not and that's it. Thank you for your perspective. Many Rock Songs have Lyrics that have something of value to say.
You've heard this song during many a football/basketball/baseball game broadcast. Classic sports pump up the crowd tune. Especially that opening.
This song should have won a Grammy!
This is his solo work🤣🤘🏻Still JAMS😎
WAZZUP Jay Rah ??!! Randy Rhoads, December 6, 1956 - March 19, 1982, (25) was an American heavy metal guitarist who played with Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne... Guitar God that was taken too soon... R*I*P* Randy > > > Visionaries... OUT !!!
Top song, Ozzy at his best since Sabbath and Randy Rhoads owning the guitar as per usual.
The media writes the script for society and we unwittingly play our part.
With each psychological cue, every handcrafted narrative, each carefully chosen word to manifest the illusion.
They predict the future and we become the self-fulfilling prophecy...
Black sabbaths home town soccer team, aston villa, play this just before the players come out. And they play paranoid when villa score.
Iron Man with Sabbath. I loved that song so much when I was 14, my dad would give me nickels to put in the Jukebox to play it at our local Pizza Joint. He swore he didn't like the song, but he gave me an awful lot of nickels, lol. As I got older, he liked coming to the bars and taverns with live rock bands that we liked to go to.
Sadly, Ozzie was fired from Black Sabbath for substance abuse issues.
I've been jamming to Ozzy with Randy Rhoads lately I've been listening to Diary of a Madman album over and over and over lately in the car. I do like the older Randy Rhoads when he was with Quiet Riot in the mid-to-late 70s.
Suicide Solution and Mama I'm Coming Home are two of the greats from Ozzy
Hey J, glad to see your reaction to Crazy train - great song ( a little tempered I thought in your reaction) but I understand , you've only heard Ozzy when he was with Black Sabbath. Sabbath is in my top three all time. His solo work is a departure from the raw early days of Sabbath, but still great none the less. Randy Rhoads was amazing and lost so soon. "Diary of a Madman" is another great song that I have NEVER heard on the radio ( unless I just F ing missed it), cool out of step bass line, instrumentals and the lyrics and transitions. "Believer", "Over the Mountain" from the same album ............
Nice reaction. I like how you really listen to the lyrics and understand them.
Hey bro agree that was a good song i growed up in that time it was the best of times
RIP to the GREAT Randy Rhodes shredding that axe!!
I think this was 1979 or 1980 and cold war was still going on
Randy Rhoads was the other...many feel EQUAL guitar god from the 80s. Incredible talent that died tragically way to soon. Please react to Flying High Again! Incredible guitar riff and sound!!!
Live from the Tribute album is badass. Ozzy spent alot to clean up concert footage to make tjat album. R.I.P. Randy.
Thank you.
Ozzy got kicked from Black Sabbath for being a hailed out alcoholic and came up with a legendary solo career - glad I got a chance to see him reunited with Sabbath before his health issues caught up with him.
Journey to the center of eternity, diary of a madman
"All abored" Eye twitch
Found ya today. Been through your reactions. CANNOT believe you only reacted to one SRV!
Mr crowley is a must live version is dope af too
Lights out for sure🔥
I wish as a guitar player...Randy was still here.
Everyone REACTS to Sabbath, nice to see you REACT to Ozzy🤘🤪🤘
Gotta check out Over the mountain! Randy Rhoads ,one of the goats,on guitar, just slayin
I like that you pay attention to the lyrics in your reactions... Alot of the other reactions don't pay any attention to them. Keep diving into metal MORE IRON MAIDEN!!!
It’s crazy all all these old song talk about what’s going on in today’s world. Media controlling
Prophetic. No?
RANDY🤘🏻
I know you prefer the album tracks before listening to live versions, but the "mr Crowley" 81 version is great . Plus , you get to see randy Rhodes be a badass
Thanks for a good reaction!
The lyrics are gospel.
Another nice job ! Keep em coming. I really enjoy listening to your interpretation.
I wished Randy never got on that plane with that coked up pilot. There’s footage here on UA-cam about the plane crash I live about 25 miles from the crash site. He was a phenomenal guitarist.
"all abored?" hahaha
4/11/22 - Revisiting your past reactions. Hope you are well!
YEEESSSS!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Randy Rhoads was an incredibly talented guitar player. Classically trained but could shred with the best of them. Gone far too soon.
RANDY: could do in 1 Track- 1 Take, what other musicians needed at least 3 or sometimes 4 backing tracks to accomplish: R.I.P. Mr. RHOADS, YOU WERE, AND ARE STILL THE BEST!
Ok. Vibra slap. You are a band geek. Me too dude!
I just can’t let this go. Holy shit, whoever created the lyric video for this has never heard of auto correct. Actually I don’t know if auto correct would even have the capability of correcting the grammatical shitfest that this was. Otherwise, love your reactions brother! Especially dig all of the deep cuts.
Glad you decided to review my favorite rock guitarist of all time, Randy Rhaods. Interestingly the version you listened to is a re-released version where original bassist (and lyricist) Bob Daisley and original drummer, the recently deceased Lee Kerslake, were removed from the recordings in an effort to avoid paying them royalties they were due. Listen closely again to the guitar solo. Randy famously played solos three times perfectly and that’s what you hear.
Funny how these lyrics are still relevant.
yeah
I would also like to add that I very much appreciate that you pull up the lyrics to see what words are really said!
Hello my visionary Brother, It's that 60 year old white nobody that's a loyal sub, diggin' the channel Bro. Your hittin' some good cuts, my friend. I wish people could just all love and accept every one on this planet, how nice would that be. Probably not in my life time, as my day's here are numbered. I wish you a Happy Year End, all the best, and, every Happiness in '21 from Oregon, C.
Check out the title track from Diary Of A Madman, it is an absolute monster.
A shot in the dark/ Mr. Crowley/ Ordinary man/ Iron man/ War pigs
R.i.p. Randy Rhoades. And if I'm not mistaken, this version keeps Randy but drums and bass were redone so that Sharon Osbourne could fuck the original players of their royalties. Brah you should do a deep dive on Randy Rhoades. Play "dee". Gorgeous solo acoustic guitar dedicated to his beloved mother Dee (same album)
Correct !! A scandalous , but sadly Sharonesque trait. Evil woman. Daisley and Kerslake wrote most of the first two albums !! Proper talented musicians.
Try I don’t wanna stop!
Absolute guitar master Rip
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a madman PLEASE!
This was DURING THE Cold War but it fits... all of us inherit all sorts of baggage from generations of large scale societal mistakes that are difficult to unwind.
This is from 1980, world hadn’t changed
Welcome to the guitar legend Randy Rhoads!
In my opinion, Randy is just as good if not better than Eddie Van Halen! He died in 1982 at just 25 years old! Just imagine if he was alive today!!!
Leaving the best verse for last. That's S tier songwriting.
The crazy train= this thing we call life (maybe?).
Listen too the lyrics actually really deep
Randy Rhoads is the GOAT IMO!
But this isn't the original recording of Crazy Train.
The original version bass and drum tracks were replaced so that the Osbournes didn't have to pay Bob Daisley (original bassist and principle lyricist) and Lee Kerslake (original drummer) any royalties.
