    Great video. Enjoyable. I wanted to offer a bit of info.
    1. The remote is Bluetooth so you dont need to point at tv or the one connect. You can turn volume and pause shows from other rooms... it's cool. And it can control other devices connected via the HDMI connectivity. so even with a home AV system and Amazon stick.. that remote controls it all.
    2. Serial number can be gotten out of the menu, so don't worry about either box or back of tv. .... Samsung can also remote access in to your TV from their offices. they're legit in customer support as you mentioned.
    3. The One connect is able to fit inside 45mm conduit for those asking. You probably can get through your 2-3 inch, tape it carefully, don't have right angles and you can rotate it as you pull to get past bumps in flex tubing. Hope that helps.
    4. The QLED is backlight by warm and cool LED lights, or dual LED, the OLED individual pixels are lit individually. So OLED do get much blacker. My man Paul explains on his channel EASYSHOT. He has a similarly smooth delivery as do you.
    5. I didn't investigate the Apple TV yet, glad it has that. To be able to share both Android and apple is nice. See even pros learn. I imagine if it has Apple TV, you can access your photos and music directly through the Apple account and not have to share it from phone no? Not sure as I'm not an apple guy.
    Again good info and video. Hit me up on IG to collab @b_the_installer

    • @geektoolkit

      Thankyou! This is great info, and I'll get it into the video description. I should've thought to test the remote in another room to see if it was RF Based...kicking myself for that one. The serial number thing is important if the board in the panel is dead (Which mine was). That was the kicker is I couldn't get the panel to show anything, and it happened during OOBE so I didn't have it connected to my network. So I had to unmount it..and that wasn't fun.
      For the apple stuff...I have an iphone but use onedrive for storage, so my apple account doesn't have the pics/videos I'm trying to share..though you're right if I had them on that account I could certainly do that in the apple tv 'app' that comes with it.
      Thanks for the informative comment, really appreciated, i'll find you on ig

    • @speedlever
      @speedlever 4 роки тому +1

      Let me add one caveat. I received the 65 inch 2020 Frame yesterday. As I was prepping the tv for mounting, one of the four M4-L14 tiny screws that attach the mounting bracket to the rear of the tv broke an internal mount. Three of them snuggled down normally, but the lower right one broke just as it began to snug down.
      No store had this locally so I bought through Amazon (Prime too!) and got it in 2 days. The box and tv were undamaged. Unfortunately, the mount that broke is internal to the tv and needs either a tech visit or an exchange. Amazon tech support connected me to Samsung tech support who determined the tv would either need repair or replacement.
      So I await a return call from Amazon as to what they want to do to get me a good tv.
      The hazards of buying online.... but I really didn’t have much choice since they aren’t locally available. I can order one from BestBuy for a mid July delivery. Might have to end up going that route and just get a refund if Amazon can’t replace.
      Meanwhile, I’m discovering multiple options I didn’t initially consider as I watch various YT videos on the installation. And am considering running the fiber cable in wall in spite of it not being in wall rated.

    • @BTheInstaller
      @BTheInstaller 4 роки тому

      @@speedlever that screw is a non-issue. The other 3 can and will hold, end of discussion. The cord can be put in wall, NBD, i do it all the time. If something is going to damage that wire, it would damage an in wall rated wire as well... drywall screw though romex will just kill power. Its probably less than 1 of a million chance anything would happen. That is your call. But no issue with that screw. Sometimes people tighten them too much and break the bolt hole. If it were the top hole in a wider 400mm Vesa mount pattern, you would have real issue. But this is non-issue

    • @geektoolkit
      @geektoolkit  4 роки тому

      Keep in mind if you’re already going to plumb through the wall you can run it through conduit and be in code. I really feel like the big deal with the cable is that it is running a considerable amount of power and if a nail were to hit it in the future it could hurt/kill someone. If I were to do it I’d just run conduit if possible. If not I’d probably just mark behind the TV “power cable behind here” so that a future homeowner would know.

I did a search on how to hide a tv and found some companies that can make your tv look like a piece of artwork. It was all very cool but also very expensive. My cable is mounted in the wall and not in conduit, I assume if it's installed by a contractor then they will follow code as the homeowner and installer I will do whatever I want. Bottom line if you're on the fence jump over and buy this art/tv. I wasn't disappointed and I'm thinking of buying the 43inch just for art mode and ambient mode.

      Undefined name I’m about to buy the tv myself and run the cable in the wall but through a conduit. Majority of the reviews I’ve seen, people put the cable behind the wall with no conduit.
      However if the cable isn’t in wall rated more then likely it doesn’t matter what a contractor does. The kicker is, if a fire started due to the cable being in wall and you house burned down, you can kiss your check goodbye from your home or renter insurer. Very doubtful but that’s the risk I’m willing to take when I install mine.

    I’ve just brought this tv, it’s awesome 👍. The sound is pretty decent for a flat panel tv however I have used the optical out on the one connect box to go to an optical to phono dac, then to the ‘right’ connector of my subwoofer for the massive added bass 👏👏👏👍. The left input on sub of course goes to my av amp. I wish I’d known about the serial number on the back before I’d hung the panel 🤦‍♂️. The wall bracket makes the panel sit really flush with the wall which is good. Once it’s on the bracket I found it impossible to get the panel off again as I forgot to plug the data/power connector in 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Over all, I’m impressed with it, only had it for 3 days as of May 2020. I’m sure it will only get better. Some note worthy tips there in your video 👏👏

Nice and clear but didn’t like it. I have (for films) it set on movie and for normal tv viewing, it’s set on ‘normal’. Might tweak the picture settings to what I like, not looked into that yet. Overall it’s a fantastic tv which I’m sure will give me many (hopefully) years of good viewing 🤞👍.

    QLED is just a marketing term for an LCD TV with a slightly fancy backlight. It’s just intended to sound like OLED, a superior display tech that Samsung doesn’t make (at least at TV sizes).

    • @geektoolkit
      @geektoolkit  3 роки тому

      I love OLEDs contrast ratio, but for this use the screen burn in would make it unusable for this scenario. LGs OLED gallery TVs really demonstrate this when they change every five seconds. While OLED is superior on contrast, there are trade offs (color vibrancy is another area). I’m the end like most tech I think it’s all about what works for the scenario. @geektoolkit  4 роки тому +3

      You’re right it’s not an ideal height by any means, but it’s how the house was designed. It’s the only wall a TV would make sense on in our downstairs, but much better suited for a piece of art. And the max size we could get was 65” to fit in there. We decided we’d go big in our media room and get a projector eventually, and for this room the frame ended up being a great alternative to have a screen when we needed it. I do find when I’m watching standing up while doing dishes from the adjoining kitchen that it’s a nice height though :)

    • @geektoolkit
      @geektoolkit  4 роки тому +1

      I’m sure you could do a number of things there...typically your source goes into a sound bar with a pass through to the TV, and it’s likely that you could Bluetooth transmit from the TV to the sound bar. One issue with Bluetooth is that it’s going to be compressed and possibly introduce latency..and if you’re trying to up sound quality that’s the wrong direction. Doing a pass through approach is possible, and there are certainly sound bars that will sound better than built in (and you’d be able to mute the TV then and have sound) The trick would be to add a sound bar and not ruin the “frame” effect. I mean if you don’t care about it looking like a picture frame there are so many better TVs for the money. Just a matter of what you prefer.

      Do you mean using voice? I haven’t had great luck with the voice...we had to turn it off. It would start listening and triggering in the middle of conversations, and didn’t have great recognition.

      GeekToolkit I meant is there a way to do search without the voice and with the app in the phone by typing?

      Thankyou!! And greetings from Washington USA :) I got to visit the Netherlands once, and it was insanely beautiful and friendly. The museums of Amsterdam are amazing, and the Tulips...Washington is known for it's tulips, but the tulip market in Amsterdam was amazing :) Hope you enjoy the TV!

    Now, if I can just decide between The Frame and the Q90T. The Q90T specs blow The Frame out of the water, but I'm not sure if it can do as good of a job as appearing as artwork. In theory, it should because it has ambient mode as well, and is even thinner than the frame. I wish I could talk to somebody who owned both and used it for that purpose. I'm not sure if there are small differences in his that works between them. I think the subscription service is only available to The Frame, but I'm not as worried about that. I can always upload my own artwork and not pay for their service.

      Your welcome!!! Yeah that blew me away!!! And then the controller “just worked” and I was floored. Really good performance too! Thank you for the kind comment!

      @@geektoolkit funny you say that because I plugged in a PS3 controller with no expectation and was equally blown away when it actually worked!!
      You deserve it - I had no idea the tech was in my living room! Thanks again
