Hey all. Q70D and Q80D do appear to be 120Hz native with VRR, but Samsung’s use of the Motion Xcelerator badge can be misleading since most use of that kind of verbiage in the past has indicated a lower native refresh rate with motion enhancement to “fake” a higher refresh rate. I’m still not entirely convinced that is not the case, and have a question in to Samsung to see if they will clarify. That said, the spec sheet does list a 120Hz refresh rate deep down in the listing, but not as “native”.
For the q70c q80c, q70d, and q80d are all 120hz which is clarified on their website
The Q80 definitely has all the gaming features of the high end TV’s. 120hz VRR and all the best gaming features plus has fald. It’s been that way since Q80B at least I know I own an 85 in. The Q80 series is an excellent tv that gets overlooked to often and can hang with the high end TV’s just fine. It’s definitely not fake 120hz it’s ledgit 120hz
What happened with the Hisense U8N review? 🤔 BTW some are saying the LG G4 is gon be tv of 2024
@@FenixPajarito not sure what you mean. Did you expect it to be the next video? I can understand that, I guess. But I definitely spend more than 4 days on a review. Then it gets shot. Then edited. Then uploaded and scheduled.
@@FenixPajarito it well could be
Thank for breaking down the model numbers - extremely helpful👍🏾
Love the breakdown on the product line up. Thanks Caleb!😊
Definitely appreciate these types of concise & focused vids. Keep em coming.
extremely helpfull video.i didnt understand where the crystal uhd models fitted until today.thanks for this video.
Thanks! Yes this video was helpful. Please do more videos like this for other brands.
Very informative video! Love that you have a segment for each model and explain. Would love some more info if the tvs are good for gaming (input lag) and watching sports
Love this video format!! We need videos like this every year for each big brand (Sony, Samsung, LG) IMO. The basics of the lineup to decide where to start. Thanks Caleb!!
Love your videos,Keep them going because they are relaxing and informative at the same time,Super well done Caleb!
Thanks, Caleb and digital trends, your videos have really helped me understand different TV techs and made my buying choice better
I found this very interesting please continue this series
Agree. Keep up the good work. I would be interested in seeing the same done for other manufacturers. I'm in the UK and we will have models you guys in the US don't and vice versa.
Yes
It is nice to have someone explain things, marketing makes it so hard to decide which one is best for you
Thanks
One of the best videos explaining types of TVs ever, will share this to the sales representatives from one of my stores
TOSSA!!!
Thoroughly useful and enjoyable guide. Absolutely would like the same for 2024 sony, lg etc.
Thanks Caleb!! Now I am clear about Samsung's line of TVs. It would be great to have videos for Sony, LG, Hisense and TCL, with a summary table at the end... if that's not too much to ask!
Sony did not announce their lineup yet.
@@ivankostka9075 They are about to, the best is always worth waiting for.
Thank You! I hope you do all the major TV brands
Defintely liked this style of video! And I just bought an S90C heavily discounted! Couldn't be happier.
S95D also heavily discounted...at least for another day. I received $2300 (Canadian) off the retail price. $2000 discount and even though I didn't trade a TV in, I still received another $300 discount. Getting a $6000 TV for less than $4000 feels like theft lol.
Samsung is going a bit crazy with their Discounts. I wonder why they don't just make the TVs a bit cheaper from the start...🫣
Very helpful Caleb. You cut through the complexity so well. Other manufacturer comparisons and a ‘once a year’ entire cross manufacturer comparison would be great if it’s not too complicated.
Yup--both helpful and interesting. Thanks, Caleb!
Great content!
Need your opinion ... QN90d or QN800c?
Thank you very informative and useful segment.
Would love to see more, liked how you quashed the misinformation about matte on s95D, I was worried about that until you told us about it!
I just brought my s90d and was wondering are you going to put out a video of your calibration for this specific tv or is it room specific?you made yours look amazing
btw love the way you do your reviews !
Thank you so much for the information. I went to Best Buy yesterday trying to figure out what the model numbers meant. I hope you do the same type of video for the other tv brands out there.
I really appreciated this video!
I would love to see one about LG, TCL, Sony, and Hisense - in this order.
Cheers!
found this interesting and helpful. more please
I liked this breakdown and would like to see breakdowns of other brands.
You have explained this beautifully
Please keep these videos coming breaking down TV brand lineups!
It was definitely helpful Caleb, thanks.
This video was very helpful! I would like a video going over Vizio and Hisense TV’s
Thank you for the samsung breakdown. Love samsung products, have a 2010 7000 series tv and s23 ultra, galaxy watch 6 classic, ect. Thank you again for this episode.
Love your content as always!!! Keep up the awesomeness you’ve been providing. I’d love to see the same content you’ve provided in this educational video for the 2024 line up for the T.C.L. , Hisense, and especially the Sony line up. This is the year for me to move up to the Sony mini LED. Thanks again for all the insight you’ve been providing. 👍🇨🇦
This was definitely a great video and helpful to know what the TV lineup means for Samsung.
I just got the QN85D. I don’t know if I’m missing much from the QN90D, but honestly, I’m pretty happy with it.
Still absolutely love my C2 that you suggested Caleb, it has been fantastic! Looking for a last year model from 2024 for my next TV! Appreciate you and the team!
Great video. Very helpful.
Grate video. Defo need more content like this.
Great videos!!! Keep them coming. Love your contents. I have a question regarding Wi-Fi connectivity for these TVs. Which brand TV has the fastest Wi-Fi chip/connection. I have a 3+ yr old TV from Samsung and I notice the Wi-Fi connection isn't consistently fast enough for streaming content nowadays. I have 600mbps network at home so I'm assuming the available speed isn't the problem.? Anyhow, greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks for the rundown, all the models are so confusing.
I need a new 55” TV soon, I keep my TVs forever the current one is 10 years old. I mostly watch TV shows, Movies and sports. It needs to be is a room with lots of windows and reflection is a real problem. Is the anti-glare only a S95 feature or does the S90 have it as well? It sounds like it works well.
Very informative would definitely like to see a break down with other brands.
Always great content and very informative. The only thing I was missing was more of when these TV releases? That would help inform of how long the 2023 year models are going to be discounted, and maybe even get a bigger discount close to 2024 year models release.
This video was helpful. I would like to see summaries for the other major manufacturers as well.
That is a great and helpfull video. Please more of that.
We definitely need a Hisense explained video! Excellent job Caleb
Very helpful thanks
great video Caleb, appreciate it !
Great video, It would be nice to have the infographic show TV sizes for each model and panel.
When able, want to see a comparison between QN900D and top QD OLEDS.
Great video...would love to see you do the same type of video for Sonys. Thanks!
Please do more of these line-up articles! I purchased a QN90A 3 years ago, and it's a great tv but I'm starting to notice some panel imperfections.
Yes this is quite helpful 😁
I've been waiting for videos like this. I hope you do other brands as well.
This was awesome. Would like to see for Hisense and TCL
This is a great video - clears the samsung sky. You should do the same for Sony, LG, tcl etc.
Great video. Still cannot get over the purple hue to the QD Oleds..
I just purchased the 77" S95D and it arrives in 3 weeks. This is a long overdue (and huge) upgrade from my current 2008 50" Samsung HP-T5054 plasma which could only do 720p HD...not even full 1080p HD. I am excited making the jump from 720 (skipping 1080) to 4K. At the time that is what I could afford, 1080P were still expensive and 720 was common. Was still leaps and bounds better than the SD rear projector I had. Regardless of only doing 720p, its motion processing and black levels were leaps and bounds better than 2008 LCD's. When viewing the S95D on the showroom floor, I can assure videophiles when the TV is on it looks glossy and dripping wet. I was debating about going with the 85" Neo QLED QN92D just for bit of extra size, but with $2300 (Canadian) off the S95D it was a no brainer. Neo QELD's can do amazing things but as a former plasma owner, I wanted something comparable and that is OLED. Also FYI, my 2008 Samsung HP-T5054 plasma is still running solid! No burn in, no dead pixels, a testament to Samsung engineering.
Great info video, thanks!
The video was a nice summary of Samsung's 2024 TV lineup. I'd definitely like to see more videos like this for other brands' TV lineups like Sony, LG, and Hisense, for example.
I've always wondered, when you found something or someone that is great, why can't you simply relish it thoroughly as one unique gift. Why do you still hanker for and look forward to more copies of the same? Your endless demand for more and better, always keep unsatisfied with what gem you already got. You get easily bored with what you already got and cast your eye on the future that isn't real. Enjoy the present moment.
As someone who doesn’t plan on getting but the best of the best, I really liked seeing all the other options.
Keep these kinds of videos coming please. I want to know what the 2024 lineup is going to be for Hisense and TCL as well.
Whoa! So awesome! More brands next!
Hi. As an alternative to the neo QN90D (2024) to save $$, would you get the neo QN85D or the neo QN90C (2023)? Or others? Thanks.
Would it be worth switching from Lg 65c2 to Samsung s95d 77 inch, on black friday? Or keep the lg C2 a couple of more years, for even better picture Quality/technology?
Thanks a lot for the video, it was very helpful and clear.
It would be amazing if you could do the same for the other such as LG, Hisense, TCL, Sony and Panasonic
Keep doing this amazing content👌
well explain, pls do this more often
Thanks for the work. Can you do the same with LG?
Do you know anything about the QN92D Neo Qled? Nothing was mentioned in your list of TVs? Difference between the QN90D? I just ordered the QN92D 55 inch. Wanted to know if it was a good buy compared to the QN90D
Do you thinks a good deal on a repaired qn90b with two years of warranty is worth it still? Alternatives for that price would be something like the tcl c805 in europe
This is great, need this for all brands.
How is my q95t holding to this? Is it still decent in tech and picture quality when compared
It is helpful, and do it for other brands - lg, Sony, tcl, Hisense, etc.
Only a panel switch to VA for the QN90D was mentioned. Do we know what is happening for QN85D?
Hey Caleb, I wanted to ask if there's a big difference between CU8000 and Q60C in terms of picture quality?
Because in my country the price difference is quite steep
well thanks to you now i know the last letter means the year of manufacture, good to know thank you.
Great video! I find it strange no 77 inch S90 in 2024. I just purchased a S90C 77 inch a month ago, supposedly with the Gen 2 panel. I wonder why they didn't carry the 77 into 2024? hopefully it is not related to potential problems with the 77 panel. It wasn't available in 2022 either. So, the 77 was a one year pony?? Am I lucky or....unlucky or... don't worry about it??
Great video Caleb, please do more like this in the future. Especially for Sony when they finally release their lineup in the near future.
Quick question, I’ve always known the Q70 and Q80 to have 120hz, did they change it this year?
I found this to be extremely helpful...if time permits, I would like to see it done for LG and Sony as well.
Watching more tech buying guide videos like this is very helpful in selecting the right product. 😅
Very helpful. Stores like their special model numbers because it keeps them from having to price match because they can say they are different. I believe that is part of the reason this started.
I'm looking at purchasing a Samsung in the near future. The room that it will go in has A LOT of natural lighting. I was pretty convinced the S95D would be the only model to avoid the glare. But after watching this video idk. Would any of the Neo QLED models prevent glare?
I need a tv with a very good picture.. which one do you recommend.. qn90 or s90 ?.. thanks
Love the run down!
Please do this on Sony TV’s.
Love to know what I’m talking about
Your videos are always helpful and informative, and I for one thank you for them. Great work!
Thank you Caleb. Does it mean that the Serif series is not confirmed in 2024? I saw Samsung showing a new ivy green colour for it at CES 2024. Do you know more? BTW I love the serif, I bought it for the kitchen and I can say its colour volume is mesmerising.
Wow Caleb, this video is exactly PERFECT at explaining EVERYTHING that the average person needs to know about Samsung's TV lineup... Perfect, perfect, PERFECT! More of this, please! ...P.S. Retailers are often selling last year's model AND this year's model alongside each other, so I am often trying to find information on the difference between last year's model vs. this year's model (i.e., ADS Pro display in the previous model, vs. VA display in the new model, etc.), so videos which include that kind of information (like this one) are very helpful.
Can you explain the difference in improvements from last year? I'm considering the Q70C, but the newer Q70D has just been released. I see the newer version going on sale next week for only $100 more, but has it seen any improvements from last year's model? The specs look identical.
No cap, stupid helpful!! ❤❤❤
Very helpful and concise summary. One question: Does the S90D have the same anti-glare treatment as the S95D? (setting aside any differences in screen sizes, panel types and audio)
S90D has a glossy screen and does not have a matte screen like S95D.
No, the anti- glare is exclusive for the s95D models only
@@Sabs-ds2ky 👍
You commented on this video that the new QN90D is the more or less the same as last year's QN90C with a recommendation for picking up the outgoing model at a discount. However, in your review for the QN90D, you mentioned that the new model rectified the delay in dimming processing. I returned my QN90C because of this delay and other distracting side effects of the local dimming system. I'm now considering getting the QN90D, but this video contradicts your other video. Which is it?
Thank you, Caleb. I did not fully understand the following, though: if someone buys a 55" or 65" (or possibly 77") S90D, are they guaranteed a QD-OLED panel, or is it a gamble at those sizes between QD- and W-OLED?
The problem is Samsung does not use the word “QD” anywhere on their website, so unless they differentiate the two it’s a panel lottery for the consumer. I think Samsung knows what they’re doing and it’s disingenuous.
I do like the TV line up breakdown for each brand
Yes, please continue these types of videos! For me (I'm thinking I'm not alone), specifically Sony and LG.
Still rocking my old 1080p tvs with no plans on upgrading for so many reasons but this is good to know. I just want to know which type of screen by which manufacturer lasts the longest. I bought a stupid expensive tv because it was supposedly the best 3d tv when they came out and it lasted 4 years and it did not have a better picture than a non 3d tv which is still going strong. Most people just want to know how long a product lasts.
excellent presenter. great editing. who writes the script?
Is there a panel lottery for the s90d 55inch and 65inch as well? Have read reports that there is no guarantee of getting a QD-OLED screen with these TV’s
We thinking the S89D will be a thing at BestBuy in the US?
I thought enthusiasts like VA better than ADS.. ADS has bad contrast and more blooming..most people watch TV straight on
Agreed. Why this shit about bad colour on sideways viewing? Why? I have a Pana gx800. VA panel was a must!
Some of the recent miniLED ADS pro panels had contrast and blooming control matching VA panels
@@allargonlol no they don't.
This this
VA panels smear blacks in gaming, so it is not optimal for gaming.
Yes, we likey. Hopefully a similar video on Sony's 2024 line-up will be a possibility as well
