    He seems like a knowledgeable tennis coach, I am a tennis coach myself. The one thing that strikes me is your wrist position on the takeback. You would never be able to create an effortless snap on the ball with your wrist in that position. It is really that snap that gives the acceleration, power and spin.

    I switched to the box forehand after watching a few WTA and ATP pros and one other thing that I found was to keep the racquet on the same side of the body. That is the racquet head doesn't go behind you, it stays on the forehand side as opposed to the takeback that goes behind your body.
    Harry has lead from 8 to 4 - that's a lot of lead.

    I think the instructor is recommending you should lead with elbow with racquet head following (lagging ) behind. Sequence at 11:56 looks like a pro ! 👍

    As great as this lesson is, the one exercise that will benefit you the most are squats. You can turn all you want but if you have no flexibility and load from your lower body, your shots will be inconsistent every time since you are using small muscles are of the arm. Once I started squatting 50 times a day, my tennis game changed dramatically.

    Hi Harry Coach Pablo is fantastic! Can you do a video for your One handed backhand aswell!

  • @PaulWolfe1
    @PaulWolfe1 Рік тому

    It's part of establishing the kinetic chain. I mentally always think about my shoulder in back, for both my forehand and my 2HBH. I'm driving each shot with the shoulder -- right shoulder on forehands, left shoulder on 2HBHs (I'm right-handed). It has helped immensely, in addition to the tip here to have the left hand on the racquet for forehands. But that doesn't work for the 2HBH so you have to think about that back shoulder driving the shot. The hips will follow so you don't need to think about them.

    Somebody has to pull Harry's racquet from behind. It looks like he's hitting a wall half way not being able to have a full swing. It's more like a return of serve. This guy Coach Pablo is the most knowledgeable among all you have in your videos. I saw him once before, and now on this video. He’s very straight forward in conveying and dissecting all the components of the stroke in a very simple way.

    Thanks for the awesome content. One question about contact point: I always thought that the best is at hip level, but my son's coach (he is 10, plays in junior tournaments) advices him to hit the ball at shoulder lever. Any thoughts?

    I have a question for Coach Pablo: there are Coaches who say to finish the swing at shoulder level and that way get top spin. This is wrong Coach Pablo, what is your opinion ?
