Something to think about along with what this video explains is rallying vs game is different. When it comes to rallying, I love using the prostaff. If im in a high intensity game with difficult balls the prostaff really holds me back and the extra weight feels it slows me down so much. My advice is to take the heavier racquet to a competitive match before you decide to make it your main racquet.

I really like the green and red and the all-black RF97s. Kimiko Date has short strokes and uses a very heavy racquet. She is good at blocking and redirecting shots. I am not an expert using lighter racquets as my standard spec is 13.25 ounces static weight. The reason I go with heavier racquets is an old arm injury. Heavier racquets with good twistweight and that are moderately flexible are good for my arm

Recently I switched a previous heavy racket (340 g unstrung) for a lighter one (300 g unstrung), and my game has improved a lot.

Why would you compare two different racquets AND different stringing (gut, poly hybrid vs nxt, for crying out loud) to evaluate effects of mass?

Основная проблема тяжелой ракетки - это то, что она очень требовательна к физической силе и выносливости, особенно после полутора-двух часов игры. Это особенно заметно при подаче. Игрокам ниже 4.5 не нужна тяжелая ракетка.

Ive been doing the same test this past month. I own pure aeros. One is the team version 285gr, the other is a 300gr with added weight on the handle. With strings, overgrips, etc the team is a 324gr 2 point HL and the other with added weight, strings, etc is a 346gr 7 point HL racket. Since i wanted to compare the difference with different mass, the strings, tensions, overgrips, etc were the same.
Boy, I immediately felt the lack of power on the team version. Even though it is a heavier head it was frustrating hitting the ball to the fence but only reaching the service line. When i took the heavier head lighter racket, everything changed. On a full controlled swing, balls were landing deeper with much more pace. I mean, it was cristal clear the diffence. Even my oponent asked me what changed because this was a totally different match.
1st set was 2.6 with the team version. The second set was 6.2 with the added weight racket.
After this match I added lead tape at 3 and 9 for a total of 4 grs and the racket felt better. Swingspeed feels about the same between the rackets. The heavier feels more stable and powerful.
I'm keeping the team version for matches against opponents with lower ratings (softer, less pace balls) and the weighted racket for opponents with higher ranking.

These days, you don't need a super heavy racquet to get lots of power. If you want to keep your swings short and slow, a power frame like a Pure Drive may be the way to go. These aren't too heavy and provide a ton of free power. Can be difficult to tame if you want to hit with full swings though.

a short swing with the heavy racket won't help with: 1. the fact that you must hold that heavier racket in your hand a whole match 2. getting golfer elbow from serving with it.

I've been playing for three years now. I started with a Pro Staff V13L. I started adding weight to it and once V14 came out I bouight it. Every time I try some of my buddy's racket I miss the weight immediately. I hope there's another Pro Staff RF comming out cuz I'd love to try an even heavier racket.

The Fed autograph is 9 points head light, not heavier in the head.

even thought the ps rf97 is a head light racket, it still has more mass than the regular pro staff.

He pointed out that it is Fed’s specs which includes lead tape beneath the bumper strip. Fed was not playing a stock RF
