Is a cowl lacing kit required? We just inherited a 69 Bronco with this same hood. We had it checked out by a local mechanic, and we were told it needed the cowl lacing.

Hey guy's, Just inherited someone else's project, I do not have the old hood to line up the hinges, would you suggest to just center them in the relief areas of your fiberglass hood?

I would install your hinges onto your cowl then place the hood in the general area that it will sit. Make sure the hood is decently lined up and you can then use a marker to mark where the hinge makes contact with your hood. Remove the hood and hold the hinges up as shown in the video and mark your holes. From there the video(even though its an old one haha) should be able to walk you through the rest of the install.

Is the fiberglass any lighter than the original hood?

Absolutely! Not sure by how much but you'll definitely notice the difference when you don't have to lift your stock steel hood anymore.
