Seasonal number 2 is OUT! I hope you enjoy this animation of the scarily insane 2023 Pacific Hurricane Season! The Western Pacific will come out very soon as well! See you soon
Genuinely impressed by how far you've grown as an animator in such a short period of time. You've outdone yourself with this and I, along with many others, look up to you as an animator. Keep up the good work, you'll reach 2k before you know it
@@nxthanj Indeed, it's honestly sort of sad that most meteorologists are still focused on the Atlantic basin. Yes, it was active, but it was really just Idalia and that's it. This year sort of brought the attention to the EPAC basin though
Great Animation! Amazing Quality! This season was quite Rare! Otis Making landfall in Mexico as a C5 And Hilary moving through California. and Super long lived Dora.
The retirement names for the 2023 Pacific Hurricane Season are here. The names Dora and Otis will be retired and will be replaced with Debora and Otilio for the 2029 Pacific Hurricane Season.
its in the atcf file, labelled as a genesis number (likely something to do with tracked aois but still yet to find the true definition). thought id include it in epac and natl animations to gather everyones opinion abt it lol
Ok this animation really took off and it's really good, the effects are 10/10 and the music is great. However why the hell did we need to include Pilar's annoying slow life and why does Ramon exist agai- But anyways another spectacular animation following 2023 NATL, can't wait for 2023 WPAC and NIO (well not NIO cause Biparjoy was something) also why was Ramon a thing-
The Atlantic was for sure something unexpected; especially considering the El Nino. 20 storms forming with some of if not the hottest SST’s on record was also insane and likely played a contributing role to the formation of alot of them. Next year may be even worse with likely hot SST’s again and a transition to La Nina later in the year. The pacific however is one I still question. Hurricane Otis is purely something out of the blue and I am still gobsmacked by how badly models predicted it. Likely the models didn’t pick up on a specific aspect or simply analysed the environment poorly. Either way, it’s a big call out that models do need some work. I am not so sure if the pacific may correlate to anything regarding the times we live in, but record high SST’s in the Atlantic is a large concern. A VERY large concern
@nxthanj I think an active Atlantic hurricane season during an El Nino with a major hurricane making landfall in the United States is definitely concerning. This upcoming hurricane season during 2024 is definitely going to keep us all up at night if it's a bonafide neutral phase.
I discovered that 148 knots is equal to 170 miles per hour, so this should be added to the storms that are able to rapidly intensify to category 5 status.
Even before Otis this season was already wild, Calvin being so close to Hawaii, Dora helping increase the intensity of the wildfires in Maui, Dora coming from an invest in the NATL and ending up crossing towards the WPAC, Hilary causing Califronia's first tropical storm watch in a long time, Jova's rapid intensification, Lidia's sharp turn while intensifying into a category 4 and slamming Mexico. It may be less active than NATL but it still won the year.
@@nxthanj yea, WPAC flopped, NATL, while active, had only like 5-6 storms with 2 sentences of description (01L, Don, Franklin, Idalia, Lee, and I guess Tammy), NIO had Mocha only,

6:24 I have to admit I didn't expect that and got scared a bit ahahaha. Nice sync and effect with Otis. Amazing work! New sub
Otis has to be one of the biggest forecasting disasters in history. Literally no one saw it explode in intensification. Truly devastating.
What a great animation for a historic season
12/10
thank you!! cooking will continue
@nxthanj do you not think Eugene was a cat 1 hurricane

Loved the animation nxthan! This season was truly unique and different to track. People are still recovering from Otis and other storms...
thank you so much! this season really is one to remember for all its destruction and activity, i hope all recover well

haha thank you!!! yeah i want to interact with the people here a bit more just to know their words are heard and considered
@nxthanj I think Hawaii was also under the gun during this season with Calvin approaching it as a tropical storm.
it did have a close approach yeah, not exactly sure what the impacts from calvin were like though
@nxthanj TS Calvin brought rainfall to the Big Island and Maui Island.
@nxthanj Do you think that the 2023 Atlantic and Pacific seasons were signs of the times we're in? I wanted to hear your thoughts.
Amazing!
thank u!!
How do you get the hurricane satillite imagery for the outro (for example Hilary or Dora)
i download it off a youtube video containing it by itself. however the clips within them are public domain so it is fine to use
