For those of you having trouble bold canceling the trick is to do buffer Stinger (thanks input latiency)and bold cancel before the stinger animation comes out giving you some time to input the next move, if that's still to hard you can plink it, it's kinda difficult to do this on pad but on a stick it's fairly easy, all you gotta do is after the stinger input the move and drum S into the atk button don't press it at the same time and to bold cancel into his teleport is just down down atk button
The -->H, bold cancel, reverb shock that you repeated a few times helped me figure out the timing for bold cancel attacks in general. So yeah, thanks for a decent video man.
outside of combos, bold cancelling is very important. whiff a normal, opponent counters with a super, bold cancel that normal before the hyper goes off... dante ends up being safe. I've saved myself tons of times from up close bionic arms even. :3 bold cancelling's really important. It adds to pressure (i.e normal move gets blocked, get advancing guarded, react asap bold cancel and air dash into j. H
@BigSmooth77 to teleport cancel u have to wait for the sword spinning animation to almost finish then input teleport(down down S) then hit up. then devil rain is fireball motion with a light attack but hit the button twice. i have found out a lot more combos for marvel Sf and soul calibur over vacation so expect more vids
@BigSmooth77 i use the B button layout but i use an arcade stick. im not that knowledgable on pads but just pick what suits u best. i play many games but for FGs i play Street fighter 3 and 4, u. marvel vs capcom 3, mortal kombat, and soul calibur 5
i'm having some issues, first, after you stinger them so they bounce off the wall across the screen, i like can't air trick, i try to bold cancel but no matter how fast i go i end up just jump into the air lookin' like a fool. i do cold shower pop shredder j.hammer cold shower stinger Bc Air trick, but i never teleport : ( helps?
also stinger -> bold cancel -> DT leads to some of dante's biggest damaging combos, if you can punish with a stinger bc volcano instead of stinger -> mash H-> whatever, you can usually end up killing characters with 900k or so health.
that jump your seeing is just a naked bold cancel. to make a move come out u need to input the move directly after the bold cancel so my advice is just practice getting used to that. for the cold shower teleport its the same thing as the first thing, practice bold cancels, u cold shower stinger bold cancel then IMMEDIATLY do the down down motion
its kinda a tiger knee(look up tiger knee if u dont know what it is) u jump then press 2 atk buttons then left or right for the dash(almost immediatly) u then cancel the dash into a attack (preferably M or H cause the both cross up) thnx for commenting and there will be much more SF and MVC stuff to come!!!
true but without Bc's its soooo hard 2 confirm now that stand H has more knockback. u dont need it 2 do combos but there is NO reason not 2 do it cause it only helps if ur having trouble with it just keep practicing :D
That's actually wrong, bold canceling isn't needed to be good with Dante, any combo you do with him involving BC, you can do slightly different and do equal damage. You do need to know the teleport cancels but BC into a volcano isn't a must to be good with him. Many people like using it because the combo can be tweeked to be used on any character unlike his non BC BNB's.
To any who has uses dante and vergil I have a lil combo starter that makes dante's life easier with midscreen combos and corner combos so you guys can check it out on my vids hope it helps. You just need to know how to bold cancel really well

Bold cancel works off any of the attack buttons plus S. Ive gotten used to L and Special to bold cancel out.

After you use air play, wait a second, hit H right before hitting the ground, then H and S once you land.
