I never thought it would end up this way. When I hear people say “the new tarkov killer” I feel so proud about my fave game. But now, dammit!
The thing is, it is more than $250 due to tax. It is more like $300. I did buy the EOD Edition back in 2016, but the conversion rate bugged (it showed the £ being worth way more than it actually was) and I got it for $63. I have something like 3,000 hours on EFT, so I got my $60 worth, but I never did get my in-game alpha armband despite playing the alpha a whole year before the game went into closed beta. I tried contacting support about it, but they told me to stop wasting their time. If you didn't get the alpha armband, it means you didn't buy the game by 2017. I sent them a screenshot of my receipt for the game that says I purchased it on June 1st, 2016. They immediately closed my ticket and blacklisted my email 😂🤣💀

Cash grabbing in my Unreleased Beta game btw. Game began to die when their response to hatchet runners was to have the AI run across the map just to mow them down. Their decisions have always been unreasonable and never worked in the long run.
Them removing the verbiage that EOD would receive future DLC is criminal and they should be prosecuted for it.
You know what's crazy? They could've just took that co-op version with saved progression, slapped a $45 price tag on it, add some bonuses to bump it up for $60 and people would've ate it up.
They could've done *anything else* and it would've been better.

When Tarkov was in its beginning stages i was laughed at, flamed, yelled at and banned from multiple forums for saying the game is a cash grab that won't last long and the system of how it works is based on making money and not having the game stable. I told everyone about cheaters and i was shut down YEARS AGO for saying there even are cheaters. I was laughed at and told to "git gud". NO ONE was hearing me when i said it will only get worse and there will only be more cheaters and i was told i'm delusional and it's "not that bad". Now i have the final laugh. But no one knows me. I'm still the crazy delusional guy who speaks nonsense even though i was right about everything and predicted the entire thing IN DETAIL, YEARS before it happened.

So everyone says that it's $250, when it's actually more like $300-350 after taxes, depending on your region. Same for the upgrade from Edge of Darkness edition, it's not just $100 but more like $125-150.

As someone that purchased Edge of Darkness back in 2017, i have long since given up on Tarkov. The game was stuck in an infinite loop of being milked by its devs and will never be what it was once hoped to be
I don’t understand how anyone could actually play it. My friend group also played early on and we were constantly killed by hackers. Speed hackers and a couple of times a guy that was flying just launching grenades. Bout time people woke up.

Slight correction, the SPT ( Single Plater Tarkov ) mod is single player only, there is no coop. You connect to a virtual server on your own machine that you have to start first in order to be able to play. You are risking nothing with it, ( Klean literally plays it on twitch lol ) its in a whole separate folder and you must have the original game for it to work. It needs an installed LIVE version but it copies it over to a different folder ( drive if you want ) therefore does not modify anything in your live forlder.
once again, a comment that mentions the truth about SPT gets very few responses. the hype kids these days seem to enjoy the blankets over their eyes.
everyone has always been allowed to play or stream SPT, they just can't promote the way to get it up and running to avoid a strike.

It's their loss mate, I enjoy SPT a lot. It's extremely customizable, some of the AI mod is really fun to play around with, you can add and remove stuff at your pleasure, mods like the realism mod makes it a lot more punishing than Live ever been and it fixes a lot of neglected issues with the game. Let them kids play with the cheaters frothing from the mouth I really coudlnt care less lol
Also with the installer its not tat difficult to make it work even they could do it lol. Just drop the .exe into the folder you want to install SPT to and press enter, wait 5 mins then play.
looks like a class action lawsuit is in BSGs future. You cant say you get access to all future dlc after paying $150 and then make a new edition just to not give away that DLC to people that paid that much money.

*quickly making it after they got competition in that area and selling it for more than 10x the price a certain early access game that released earlier this month costs

@@anonimus370 Incursion Red River, which was previously in development under the name Project Quarantine as a standalone tarkov coop experience for 2 years or so (and then got rebuilt from the ground up in the past months - one of the first announced titles). BSG only saw that it sells and decided to quickly put together a coop mode as well and sell it absolutely overpriced - sole reason IRR exists is because they went from "we'll make a coop mode later for everyone" to "we won't make a coop mode", Incursion released for 13$ and is now like 16.50 without the release sale in pre-alpha, absolutely solid title for coop even tho still missing a lot given it's state obviously.
Also the IRR team supports modding, which already is a huge step up, a few smaller mods already released, not sure if anything big will release before the actual medic system (or an early adaptation for it) is going to get an official release tho.
Don't forget Tax. 250 = 300 dollars or more depending on your area
I am so glad you made this video. Literally just yesterday I was thinking about Tarkov. I stopped playing a few years back. Right before Lighthouse came out. I think a big part of it was that I started playing with some friends, and they were taking it really seriously. We started building the bases and going for high ticket items and missions. But I kind of just liked having fun with the game. Before I got them into it, I wasn't rich, but I was loving it. Then streamers were beating the entire thing in a weak, so they started raising the requirements for everything, and I felt like I was no longer making progress. And they kept talking about the new map, but weren't releasing it because we needed vest #294. And just a whole list of things I was getting tired of
But I thought maybe I could have some fun with it again. See what's up... Now I've lost interest.
Meanwhile, I've played quite a bit of Arena Breakout on my phone. It did feel like just the mobile Tarkov. So if they can make a good PC version, I'm down for supporting them.
SPT has been a great time. There’s some talented people over there just… making things. As an EOD owner who hasn’t played LIVE seriously in a while it still feels like a slap in the face & I am glad to have been playing SPT for so long & enjoying a different experience.

Correct. Nikita said in the 2nd "apology" post that the reason it was behind the pay wall was because the "offline" coop was played through BSG's internal servers which didn't have much space. Which is bullshit lmao

Single player/Coop PVE should be a basic feature for everyone, not a DLC or a feature for an incredibly expensive edition. This is so asinine and greedy on Battlestate behalf to lock such a simple thing behind a huge paywall.

How to kill a company 101, Unheard edition
I find it very strange that an offline PVE mode is not just part of the main base game. You should not have to spend 150 (or 250!) dollars to be able to get a coop/offline PVE mode in this Beta. Doesn't make any sense.

Grayzone and arena breakout have a chance to have a big hit but they have to watch out on free to play, pay to win, pay for convenience, etc.
Arena Breakout on mobile is not pay to Win, the only problem is the shit skins they add like Bruce lee. So i doubt the game Will be pay to Win in PC

As one of the people who participated in ABM's (Arena Breakout Mobile) closed beta test, I honestly love the game (other than some performance issues that are still there, but at this point I'm blaming my phone, lol). I'm glad it's coming to Steam.

Just to clarify something from the beginning, the SPT mod never had co-op. It was singleplayer only, no ability to play with friends.

What makes his statement moronic is that it's not even a unique feature. They added training/offline coop raids around 2 years ago IIRC, but with no progression. They literally added couple of lines of code here to add progression to an already existing few years old mode.
Considering this company supports and possibly funds the war, it wouldnt surprise me at all if they took notes. Their game is also chock full of anti Ukraine propaganda.

I almost bought that with a friend yesterday for 10€ thinking it was the coop mode because we didn't keep up with the game, I honestly feel sorry for anyone that didn't double check and bought it expecting that it's the new coop mode...
Technically speaking it is a special military operation because there is no formal declaration of war for either side and the scope of objectives was quite limited.

One small addition. It wasn't just arena, but the Raid miniseries and Chronicles of ryzhy miniseries that probably lost them some major cash as well. I can't imagine that those were cheap to make. And it was a problem I noticed with BSG back when they added in arm stamina 3-4 back. They're sinking money in to things that isn't the development of tarkov proper. and recently before this fumble, They dropped the open world aspect that they'd been promising for years. Wasn't news to me but I know some people were caught of guard with that one.
Quick correction, SPT does not allow you to play with friends, only by yourself. It's other mods that bring that functionality

Screw them. I lost access to my email a couple of years ago after spending over $100 for Tarkov. I tried to reach out to their support for several months, no less than 40 or 50 attempt, and nobody would ever respond to me to assist.
They basically just stole my cash and ran.

When I purchased eod about 3 years ago, tarkov was already around for a while. Yes the future dlcs were one of the selling points among with the rest of it. I've gotten my money's worth out of a 150, for 3 years. Since they've expanded their studio, hired more people and have rolled out some quality updates since then, I can understand this extra 100 for me to upgrade and I would pay it since there isn't anything like tarkov on the market at the moment. They have their own expenses and they must try and survive in the market to keep developing. No indie company would be able to hire a bunch of people to work towards their goals and hope to fun this without some ways to bring in some more money.
There are people that see problems in opportunitites and people who see opportunitites in problems.
I'd say there's a bunch of potential customers now looking for a new extraction shooter.

@@Adam14319 it has a few small issues out of the box, but with a couple mods (sain+donuts, looting bots and a few others) it offers a good experience. I use a customized version of the docker image they have on github hosted on a truenas box in my house that friends and I have played on for a few months when we got tired of hackers & those with more time to play on tarkov live and its been as good if not a better experience than live.
I always find it funny how some companies try to recover from a bad financial situation. It's very simple, either do a "Fire sale" on all bundles like 60%-70%. (This would for sure piss some people off but it's still better than scamming people) or sell the offline mode for 20 bucks and if you want to play online you can buy an online access upgrade for 30 bucks. For sure they wouldn't make the same amount of money per product but they'd probably make more money in the end since they would attract players like me who have been scared away by the high price of the game.
I know I'm a couple days late to this video but the release of Gray Zone Warfare released this morning for yesterday morning and I am having so much fun with that game I haven't even touched Tarkov in about a month
Always wanted to try Escape From Tarkov, but it's price tag is very high for me, and now watching this situation, it's clearly not gonna go for it.
