Jin trying to kill himself after beating Kazuya would be an interesting twist(Jun could stop him right before it happens and purge him of the devil gene. And then we finally get a happy ending)
Jin actually losing a fight to Kazuya is a pretty jarring sight. Really building up Kazuya as a true threat here.
Heihachi was powerful in Tekken 2, after Kazuya won him, and took MZ for himself. Heihachi survived, and he decided to training, and destroyed Kazuya in Tournament by throwing him into volcano. he really died BTW. In Tekken 4, G Corp. found his body, and revived him thanks to their own technology, that helped at least placed pieces together. And the only thing that revived Kaz, was his devil genes. Devil genes helped Kazuya regenerate his body. However, devil genes weakened after that. Jin defeated him and Heihachi quite easy, thanks to his own recentley awakened devil's blood. However, during Tekken 4 canon ending. Heihachi canonically defeats Kaz, and Kazuya decided in Honmaru temple to fuse together with his own devil, and became one in the process. Both personalities became one, and surely, it wasn't same Kazuya anymore. In Tekken 6, we didn't saw him fighting Kazuya, and can't say which is could be canon, for him fighting Kazuya. You could say, even if they fought, Kazuya was able to gain some his powers back. Somewhat. Both Kazuya and Jin was even. After Kazuya fought Heihachi in Tekken 7, Kazuya was able to gain his whole devil's powers back. So, it was actually very clear, he won Jin by gaining his devil's powers back. He could speed up proccess, if he killed his son, and gained his powers, but unable to. Since he lost. The time was an enemy, and ally to Kazuya. Until his powers would get back by usual way, just waiting.

I like how Kazuya correctly calls Jin out for being a monster who started WW3, but then follows that up with, "anyway, now that you've got the ball rolling I will personally ensure that the killing *never* stops for as long as I live."

In actuality, Jin only "started WW3" in an effort to draw out Azazel, the giant, mystical, mythical beast from Tekken 6/Tekken 6: BR, because Jin believed that if he destroyed/killed Azazel, then he'd finally be ridden of the "Devil's Curse/Blood" forever. So technically speaking, that doesn't really make Jin a "monster" necessarily, it just makes him a guy with good intentions who probably went about attempting to accomplish a certain goal in the wrong way.

I've been playing since Tekken 2 back in the 90's. This really does feel like the equivalent of End Game for the Tekken universe. They pulled all the stops out for this one.
You only hype for a weak ass story mode.....you not gonna compete and the game's mechanics is hot garbage

Yeah and he wasn't even fighting at full power and it wasn't until at the end he went Devil and destroyed Jin. Although Jin wasn't at full strength, Kazuya proved himself as a very dangerous adversary worse than Heihachi.

Man Kazuya is more of a bastard than Vegeta. At least Vegeta eventually came to care about his family and even Future Trunks when Black was ruining his world. Trunks is more fortunate than Jin.

I really love the part where Kazuya announces the tournament, and the camera pans over to the other characters, Paul, Steve and even Lili, For me this is probably the story point where they would try to involve the other characters into the story and perhaps turn the comedy characters like Paul and Lili into serious ones since well Kazuya is rampaging and causing a world war 3 and the tournament is basically whoever wins can probably fight and stop Kazuya

I think the rules are if your countries fighter falls the country itself is destroyed which is... holy shit Hardcore as fuck and actually uses all the nationalities represented in a different way
Also interesting to see those particular fighters actually fight for something beyond themselves.
Paul finally getting a redemption arc and possibly his own showdown with his old rival Kaz sounds pretty good.
They're super confident in the game letting people have such access before the main launch in January. Plus an actual traditional demo having Singleplayer. Almost unheard of nowadays.

The chapter 1's AMAZING
For the first time, we've seen Kazuya win against Jin. And the differences between their levels.
While Jin partially controls the Devil Gene, Kazuya always has full control and was cooler and calm in the entire fight, letting Jin beat him up just to give him expectations.
And also, Kazuya played a insane psychological game with Jin, mentioning the war started by him in T6
And finally, it seems that other characters are gonna get some space in the story, and that's nice, if this happens.
I just want that they explain what was Jun doing this entire time, leaving Jin alone.
I'm buying if all the cut scenes look like this. We used to only get tekken intros that look like this. The story was always my biggest interest in Tekken
I hope they won't forget Kazuya's true devil form.

I had a feeling Kazuya was going to defeat Jin in the first battle. Kind of like an event for Jin to realize he needs to tap into his full potential if he wants to defeat Kazuya once and for all. Also, Kazuya is really proving to be more of a bad ass with every second he's on screen. However, I can't help but feel sympathy for him. That speech he delivered was rooted from all the trauma he endured throughout his life. Now wanting humanity to pay for what the world has done to him. Hearing all that honestly just makes me root for him all the more

There's nothing "badass" about wanting to punish the entire humanity for what one person(his father) did to him. This is more of an incel behavior than anything else.
The rest of humanity did nothing to him. It was hiehachi. Kazuya knows heihachi had ruined the lives of many people just like his. He's not the only one who has suffered because of heihachi. At this point I don't feel sorry for kazuya. He was about to devil beam a bunch civilians. Children being among them.
As a lifelong Kazuya main I can safely say this was awesome did you see his face when he said “unleash the dogs of war” Christ he looked so menacing 😈
4:16 ..Love the way he says "Sama no Makeda" ... If he didn't already, dude definitely has main character energy in this game..unlike in Tekken 7 where he took a nap for the whole story.

This is the second time Tekken's story has borrowed something from the live-action movie. First instance was making Heihachi into a misunderstood "good" guy in Tekken 7, and now we have Kazuya making all the tournament fights be to the death. Intentional or not, it's amusing to me.
Tekken 7 never depicted Heihachi as a "misunderstood good guy." It only showed his descent into becoming a paranoiac asshole but never did it justify all the decisions he did (him saying to the journalist that he should've killed kid Kazuya does not count) Plus, everybody predicted that Kazuya would eventually dispose of Heihachi during the announcement of Tekken 7, (makes perfect sense since for him to be Tekken's big baddie since he is arguably more ruthless than Heihachi) so to say that these were all borrowed from that (garbage) film is quite a stretch.

It could still happen. This is only Chapter 1. And even if it doesn’t happen, maybe it will in Tekken 9. It’s hard to believe there wouldn’t be one, especially if this game is successful (which it seems to be setting up to be)
If Tekken 8 isn't the Final Chapter, then Tekken 9 will be the Final Chapter, and don't expect me to be that patient.

@@NoelJohnCarlo I doubt it, as there's still the Hachijo family which are demons if I'm not wrong that's where Kazumi came from to destroy the Mishima family from within, which created this whole Tekken story line starting 7.
The problem with Tekken is that the story must always continue and they can't easily get rid of the main characters

If you seen the leaks there was Azazel's animation hidden in the files and Tekken 7's Zafina lore did stated that he will ressurect when 2 evil stars facing each other on top of that don't forget about The Hachijos the main big baddies of Tekken.
The glyph actually kinda explain everything. The Mishima clan are supposedly to fight alongside the humanity against the devil, and after they succeeded, the devil wanted to exact revenge against the humanity especially Mishima clan and somehow made a pact with Hachijo clan and later send Kazumi to Kill Heihachi and corrupted the Mishima clan centuries later. Despite Kazumi's death, the plan did work and when Jin declared World War 3, Azazel, the devil's progenitor was able to ressurected.
I dont think they made a pat of any kind I think kazumi's family are literally just evolved versions of the devils.
Also from the looks of it seems like the original Mishima line. That is all of them from jinpachi going back seems to he more heroic and nobler.

It's absolutely insane that the first 13 minutes of the Tekken 8 story already has better feats than the entirety of Tekken 7's story!
If the "Into the Stratosphere" stage is any indication then it looks like Jin and Kazuya's fight might even extend to outer space in the latter parts of the story mode!

Now we see, that Heihachi was a lesser evil, while Kazuya showing no mercy, and announcing his own world domination quest. A greater evil, who knows he's became too powerful. And accepted himself to be a true devil, for who he is now.
Jin's own struggle with him denying his devil's blood, and not knowing it's true nature, was his mistake. Devil Jin, is Jin himself, and devil genes, is just a blood with devil's powers. In other words, he said "I am not like him". But he was actually saying it to himself, without realizing it. After all, he was trying to save himself. The other self, can be considered as subconscious and unconscious inner mind of Jin. It's just a personal analysis, can't say i know how to say it perfectly, cuz Tekken 8 story will go for more global way, and i want to know, how it works fully out in the end.

1:41 Kazuya is so freaking badass, he has always been my favorite tekken character and it hasn't changed. Even though for the last two games both heihachi and jin gained my love and respect 100 percent more than before
My theory is this Jin in Tekken 8 will be similar to Ryu's with his devil gene as the satsui no Hadou which in my case would be a two separate story ending with Bad being him consumed by hatred and does become the main antagonist in the series ending the world but in true ending with the help of his mother Jun will be able to calm down his genes and accept what he is which is similar to Ryu's power of nothingness. I came up to this one since in Tekken 3 and so on Jin's past is miserable being believed that his mother died, kazuya believed to be dead, Heihachi betrays him which stock up his hatred so in most Tekken games he always says "chikara koso subete da" "力こそ全てだ" translates to "power is everything" but now in this Tekken 8 Trailer he said "力こそ全てじゃない。" Chikara koso subete janai" says "power isn't everything " so I think there will be choices in this story mode where Jin's power depends on you as a player.
So in conclusion the bad ending would be Jin corrupted by his Devil Genes become Devil Jin and kills Kazuya to steal his Devil Genes to enhance his powers even more. And in true ending Jin will just fight Kazuya but without the intention of killing him and let Kazuya live and avoid bloodshed or something like that.
Calling it now Ogre is gonna be a dlc character in season 3
Last time in Tag 2 he had some of Marduk and Miguel moves, in this Tekken he would have more if included
I don’t think the fight is gonna end with them killing each other and Harada-san did stated that there big twist that’s gonna happen and it can go anywhere. He also hinted what will happen since Jun is present this time.
Finally Kazuya whooped Jin's ass after all those years....off course Jin will win in the end but at least Kazuya has 1 legit win over him...

Tbf kazuya in TK4 could've killed Jin but didn't transform instead play out the scenarios on fighting Jin because you realize in TK4 and 5 happened in the same night.. kazuya in his prolonged immediately transformed instantly meaning he decided he held back against Jin

Kazuya and Jin cannot be allowed to perish. Jin should also finally accept his devil form already. It's been helping him this whole time, even now reaching out to help him survive. Hope he finally realizes that in this story mode. Can't wait to see where this leads

This is insane. I'm so excited for this. The way Kazuya is presented as a major threat to the world too. I can't see him being redeemed whatsoever. Jin is surely winning the decisive battle and closing the Mishima storyline that has been going on for many years. I know Jun is going to be involved, but I'm still curious as to who that figure at the end was? It might be someone else.
I hope this much of the story mode being revealed so soon before the official release is a sign that its gonna be a really long one

He did the genocide of millions to protect billions. In his twisted way he was trying to save the world by destroying azazel and erase the devil gene along with himself and everyone associated with it. It of course didn't work out like that.

From how I see it, Tekken 8 is a story of Jin learning to embrace his Mishima and Kazama values. I noticed that ever since Tekken 4, Jin wanted to sever both his Mishima and Kazama ties on his quest to end his bloodline. He wanted to reject his Mishima lineage, while departing from the Kazama values on using his powers to save everyone. His mother proved this as she mentioned that a Kazama’s powers cleanse evil and foster life, which is opposite of Jin’s desire to use his powers to destroy evil. I’m not surprised if Jin manages to control his devil form in the end thanks to his mother’s teachings he once forgotten, and it is this very thing that allows him to defeat Kazuya and redeem him.

The minute i heard they were showing a chapter one i had to click really fast. They are doing well keeping us tekken fans hyped to play the story mode for tekken i cant wait to play this game all the trailers i have watched and all the wait for 2024 of January to come well be worth it. they truly have made us proud and to all the workers that helped make tekken and the creator himself well done this is a masterpiece.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Theres a line Kazuya said that really struck me.

I might be nuts, but I think that's Devil/Azrael/the true evil entity speaking and not Kazuya. I think the real overarching threat, is hidden in these scenes with Kazuya egging on Jin and the world to take him down. To me, at least, it seems they're going to bring back the T4 plot thread that half of Devil is in Kazuya and the other in Jin, and if one dies Devil will take full manifestation of whoever is left.
Again, i could be 100 percent wrong, but it would seem that all the exorcism elements being introduced as well as the return of Jun suggest the real conflict is how to get rid of devils influence rather than killing kazuya. Which will set up a helluva kaz redemption arc in 9, or if he dies doing the right thing so to speak in 8. But thats just wishful thinking.

finnaly i was so angry that my boy kazuya lost in tekken 4 now hes back he killed heihachi and now beat jins ass my boy is back in the spot light
