Yep, Devil Jin's words "Never shall i deny you" is a complete summary of his character. Whether Jin loves himself or hates himself, Devil Jin will support it.
@@fe6587 yes and it causes Jin to be filled with hatred against the Mishimas for Heihachi's betrayal, becoming emo, and the Devil Gene formed after Heihachi shot him.
More likely Devil Jin was only "evil" to protect Jin's psyche. Jin needed to project all of his negativity regarding his heritage onto an image to prevent being consumed by despair and self-loathing, so DVJ became that image. Basically Jin needed the Devil Gene to be evil so it became evil. But Jin's image of his bloodline changed because of his uncles being decent people so he was no longer drowning in negativity so he couldn't access his devil form anymore which is what led to this journey of self-discovery so Jin could realize what truly drives him isn't hatred or a lust for power like Kazuya but a desire to protect his loved ones even at the cost of himself.
We've had Devil Jin and Devil Kazuya for the longest time and always wondered why Kazuya so easily controls his Devil form while Jin is always consumed whenever he transforms. So the reveal that Devil Jin was only an evil rampaging monster because that's how Jin saw it was a really nice way to answer that. To Kazuya, his devil form was just a means to an end so he never struggled with control, but for Jin, his transformation was always a reminder of his connection to the bloodline he hated and as such it was a monster he in no way wanted to have any association with. So when he finally accepted Devil Jin for what it really was; just a part of him he needed to accept, it stopped being a monster. Wish they had implemented that in the playable Devil Jin too for his intros and victory animations where his voice and lines change depending on where you are in the story, sounding evil if you haven't finished and sound normal if you've finished the story.
Kazuya also saw his Devil form as evil which is why he gets pissed at Jin using it for good because it shows that Kazuya being evil wasn't "destiny" and he didn't have to let his hatred and lust for power consume him.
First battle: Devil Jin points out Jin's lack of power and his inability to protect the things he love (mainly his mother) Second battle: Devil Jin points out Jin's hatred for his family and his self loathing. At the end you can see a single white feather, because all this hatred comes from a sense of justice. Jin knows that his actions in Tekken 6 caused much pain and destruction, and his hatred of Kazuya is because he believes Kazuya is pure evil. Third fight: Jin accepts his failures and mistakes. However, there's still a hatred for himself that lingers and impairs him (the chains). Because Devil Jin is Jin's desires manifested, it is Devil Jin's turn to break the chains of hatred. His eyes are now golden, and in his rage art the energy is golden. After fully becoming one with his devil part, Devil Jin has golden eyes and a white wing. However, the reason why he still has horns and a black wing is because Jin still doesn't care about his own safety and believes the only reason he should be alive is to stop Kazuya.
@Xinricause the devil genes are affected by the host. Think of it as an amplification of emotions and power. Kazuya fell completely cause the only person he had to count on was Jun and she was gone, all the others tried to take him out and Heihachi played a huge part in this. Jin however had people to sympathise and support him, Howrang, Xiao, Lee, Paul in the past, Lars, Alisa, Claudio and the list goes on till the game. In fact the line of Kazuya and Jin is proof of that Kazuya "fighting is about who's left standing" That's not how Jin view that in the end. The only issue with Jin is that he was going the wrong way about it, he was paying too much attention on myths and prophecies that he made them self fulfilling in the end... except during the end of Tekken 8, he broke the cycle. I could be wrong but I believe that what Harada also aimed at the end, showing the difference when you vilify someone who suffered and when you understand someone who suffered and the end result of the these two. How the saying goes? A kid that was shunned and didn't receive a warmth will burn the village to feel warm or something like that?
That hatred is what corrupts Jin into a warmonger. Hatred and revenge aren't justice. Jin is just obsessed to eliminate the Mishimas/Devil due to hatred for them. It's just similar to Kazuya being obsessed to spite Heihachi due to hatred for him. As Devil Jin said, Jin's path makes him no different to Kazuya, including starting war. At the end of the game, Jin no longer hates Kazuya too, he uses Mishima style again, he fights Kazuya to stop him from harming not out of hatred. You don't need hatred to oppose evil.
