T Lucas - "Any back alley street is where we'll probably meet". It's a first person perspective of a serial killer. Everything anyone needs to know about the talent of Judas Priest is found in that two minute fifty second song. If you haven't seen the Old Grey Whistle stuff from 1975, I put a link below. There playing live without an audience. Very interesting. I like their older material. Judas Priest 25 04 1975 Old Grey Whistle Test ua-cam.com/video/BO9T5pQ6IeI/v-deo.html
The song is basically saying that they are going to make it to the top. It's an inspirational song. "Out there is a fortune to be had. If you think I'm gonna let it go you've got another thing coming" And they proved they had the mentality, as they made it to the top! They made it to the top and earned their fortune. All power to them, as one of the most influentual bands of all time! And bringers of the best music!
There's also another dimension to the phrase "You've Got Another Thing Coming"..., which is "You've Got Another THINK coming". In this case, rather humorously as pointed by the 502 guys, this new "think" by the guy on the bridge ended up literally blowing up his head! 😂
Oh man, riding to school Freshman year of high school... Screaming is such a fantastic record, start to finish... that opener with The Hellion and Electric Eye.... yes please... Tipton and Downing killing those dual guitars...
Man you guys have only scratched the surface! You should give Beyond the realms of death & Victim of changes , much older Priest hits that are completely different than this but is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Sentinel is another great one, Hellbent for Leather and Breaking the Law, Deliver the Goods, Metal Gods Live Insurrection and the list goes on... There are just so many.
It's funny that you said "It's definitely one of the best VIDEO moments that we had on the show... cause it was so unexpected..." Pretty much was to the guys and the crew on the day of the shoot for this video too ! I saw an interview with Rob Halford on Canada's MuchMusic video channel back in the day and Rob related, in his charming cheeky way, that the pyro guys packed a little extra explosive in the head and at first the director thought the shot was ruined and they'd have to reset to do again, but the band and everybody thought it was too funny and decided to keep it in ! Another amazing unbelievable band story was at a concert of Judas Priest's in Toronto where during the intro to "Hell Bent For Leather" when Rob traditionally rides out on their signature Harley, there was a ramp that was lifted from an area backstage that was full of dry ice smoke that Rob would burst through on the Harley, but the ramp got stuck halfway, Rob of course with all the dry ice couldn't see shit so he rode through and clipped his head on the bottom of the ramp breaking his nose and knocking him out and the Harley goes crashing and they were all playing like nothing happened but for some reason Rob missed his cue and there was all this dry ice on stage at that point that Glenn almost tripped thinking "somebody left some shit on stage", but it was Rob passed out ! Since that accident any Harley's used for this part of the concert had the transmission dismantled and Rob just coasts the bike out with revving Harley engine sound effects played through the sound system. Look it up it's on UA-cam and the interview with Glenn about the incident is on their "Metalworks" documentary video.
Painkiller and that sound/style was adapted by Priest with the induction of Thrash Metal. THIS is the real Judas Priest at their best. This whole album, Screaming For Vengeance, is killer, every single song on it is a true banger.
Still to this day If I happen to be listening to the radio which is rare and they happen to play this song I crank it to 11 , it’s just cool in my opinion, thanks again!
Right On! No doubt about it my friend, great times, great music & great fun in the sun with weekend parties in the park, then rocking into the night to house parties chaos! "If U Don't Know, U Don't Know, U Just Had 2 Be There." +++++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+++++
I really appreciate that you mentioned the tone and how good the guitar solo is. Glenn Tipton is the real deal and by that I mean he participated in shaping the way the guitar sounds changed in metal. Your description of how it demonstrates technical ability but is still listenable is why he one of the best that ever was. It's literally his trademark; tasteful, melodic solos that are memorable and remarkable.
This was the album that made Judas Priest the huge headline band they are today. I saw this tour and a few others after. The last time in 2008. Unbelievably better live. The concerts were just a badass event. Much better than anything today. Yes, we are the Golden Age of music.
I love love love Rob Halford. He has pipes and knows how to use them. He's mind blowing. Pain Killer was brutally high pitched but the man can hold a note out until next week at the same time. That is why he is amazing. Electric Eye is great.
IDK about all that, I mean there's no question that the "Screaming For Vengeance" LP was Judas Priest biggest selling album, no doubt. But, Priest were already big in the U.S. they broke out with their "British Steel" LP, & talk about non-stop radio play. I don't even wanna hear some of the tunes on their "British Steel" LP anymore they were so played out on radio & on the jukebox at lunch in HS. "Living After Midnight, United, & Breaking the Law" nah I'm good, & I love Priest, but can't stand those 3 songs anymore. Just keeping it a buck brother! +++++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+++++
I knew this song right away... It is good! This was another song played on our jukebox in the cafeteria in high school. (Over and over) Never saw the video. It took a dramatic turn @ 9:25. Holy Smokes... 😂
Next JP video when you get to it - “Freewheel Burning”…….awesome riff with frenetic guitar solo that segues into another solo with double guitar harmonies & Rob Halford is absolutely spitting bars !
"Freewheel Burning" is a killer tune, no doubt! However, Rob Halford "spitting bars" really, you sure about that, I mean you're absolutely sure? Or did you mean to say you once saw Halford spitting Absolut Vodka in bars where you're from? Blah, haha!!! C'mon man, Rob Halford is the "Metal God" who's always been "Screaming For Vengeance" Most likely Rob's spitting into the mic by screaming every night with it. However, I am ABSOLUTELY sure Rob's not spitting bars, when he be on the mic, that's Rakim, not Rob in that rap game, pal. If anything you'd be the one "spitting bars" of soap, out of your mouth from Rob washing your mouth out, if you ever said something like that to him in conversation. +++++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul, Fitz+++++
What’s funny too is I always have a hard time understanding words to songs I’m mostly into the music but I always forget all the lyrics to this song and have to look em up , thanks again
Still have this on original vinyl! Judas Priest top five "metal" bands of all time. Y'all need to react to any and all songs off off the album "Defenders of the Faith", which is my absolute fave and could listen to it all day!
"You've got another thing coming... Sharp Dressed Man!" 😹 ZZ Priest combined with Top Judas guitar riff like they used to do back in the days.... N.W.O.B.H.M. = British Steel
It's good album, but not very metal. The standouts to me have always been Solar Angels & Desert Plains - great atmospheric hard rock / heavy metal. They somehow remind me of The Rage, easily my favourite from British Steel. Nice vocal melodies, beautifully sung, powerful, catchy riffs.
Awesome reaction guys know this that priest has been around since early 70s check out HELL BENT FOR LEATHER, RAPID FIRE, THE RIPPER, BEYOND THE REALMS OF DEATH, METAL GODS, TURBO LOVER, just awesome METAL at it's finest 🤟
Great reaction guys! Now for the third completely different sound of Judas Priest, please react to the album version of VICTIM OF CHANGES circa 1976. Blow your minds!
This song flows perfectly with the sing before it on the album. If you get the chance. Listen to Screamin For Vengeance and the this song right after. It's perfect. At least in my eyes it is
If you gentlemen would like to hear a heavier side of Judas Priest you have to check out "Victim Of Changes" from their 1976 album Sad Wings of Destiny.
The heavy songs on this record are rockers and what Priest is about! Try the title track, it'll let you know what's up lol Bloodstone Fever Devil's child Screaming for vengeance And all the rest of this album.
I’m telling you! Off the same album is Riding On The Wind! It’s one of their best songs! I’m no ordinary fan. I’ve seen them live 18 times from decades ago! I know this shit! Do this song. Fuck views, fuck likes, most of those stats are from newbies and people who weren’t THERE like I WAS 40 years ago when all this started! I KNOW this music and this song is a Badass Classic and really one of the most High Power, High Energy, Classic Hard Rock Bangers you Will EVER hear! I guarantee this! I saw this original tour too. That was 1983 boys. I am the Old School! Listen to your Rock and Roll Elders. I don’t miss with this music. EVER.
Great reaction guys! Such a classic song. This is the track that made them huge. To really see what they can do, please check out "Victim Of Changes" , either live Memphis 1982 or live US Festival 1983.
Try Dreamer/Deceiver for an example of Rob's remarkable voice. Throughout his career he has always pushed the limits of his voice in experimental ways.
Priest have a few other "radio-friendly" tracks. Living After Midnight Heading Out To The Highway Breaking The Law The Green Manilishi (with the two pronged crown) (Live) And the deep metal cuts are obviously better. Along with Black Sabbath, their very stage performance, studded leather, riding a motorcycle on stage for encores (Hell Bent For Leather) defined metal.
The twin guitar attack is best. Dubbing the solos of a single guitarist in the studio is OK. A different story during a live performance. Tipton was smooth and fluid. Downing was like an uncaged animal. A cool combo till their egos got in the way. The bass player uses a pick. Love that extra thump and clarity. Drummer is an awesome timekeeper. And Halford the unwavering metal god.
Another song same album Some Heads Are Gonna Roll seems appropriate with the head blowing up! Check out Heading Out to the Hoghway for another catchy, memorable one to sing along to.
Judas Priest is SO METAL a guy taking a reading EXPLODED!
I wish people would bring up “The Ripper”, it’s such a unique Priest track, and Robs vocals on point. It defines Priest for me.
T Lucas - "Any back alley street is where we'll probably meet". It's a first person perspective of a serial killer. "BOOM! Pants down!" - Ty. Made me laugh out loud.
Such song should be watched and listened live, from the stage.
Oh man, riding to school Freshman year of high school... Screaming is such a fantastic record, start to finish... that opener with The Hellion and Electric Eye.... yes please... Tipton and Downing killing those dual guitars...
Best Metal Bands coming from Europa ..
This song is great…good dance song too!
Other great Judas Priest songs: The Hellion/Electric Eye, Delivering The Goods, Exciter, & I agree with The Ripper. So many great tracks!
Man you guys have only scratched the surface! You should give Beyond the realms of death & Victim of changes , much older Priest hits that are completely different than this but is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

love this signature Song Judas Priest are the Metal God's and Rob is one of the best voice Of Metal of all times🤘🤘🤘🤘

Early 80s we had bush parties almost every Friday and Saturday night. THIS was one of many anthems we played. Miss those days! Great music, great fun!

I saw them in concert last night and they still rock! The band was tight. Rob came out on the motorcycle too! Painkiller is a beast.
I saw them in concert for the Screaming for Vengeance tour. He commands the stage. It was a great show.
I've seen a lot of reaction videos but this is the funniest by far!

You know you're good when you sound better than the original studio recording.
Crank it up.
This one was a pretty popular song back then. I remember hearing it all the time. Great reaction guys! Happy Friday!!
And in 2022 they still sound just as great as they did in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s
The Masters Of Metal
I heard this song in the 80's and I really liked it then and anytime I can hear it again I still really like it
My favorite song by them… Living after midnight and Turbo lover are close behind! I rock to this song often, although I’m a 80’s girl 😂
Congrats Judas Priest in making the Rock and Roll HOF!
Back when there were Rock clubs, this was a mainstay at the bar, early 80's.
This is when they broke huge in the US. The song was played by rock radio stations non stop. Kicked arse live in concert on this one.

Rob Halford no longer needs the weirding module.
Nice reaction guys
That awesome solo was by Glenn Tipton….he and K.K. tore it up back then…
Need to react to Dissident Aggressor by Judas Priest 1977.

Judas Priest variety of styles can be confusing to people. The song that best represents Judas Priest's overall sound is "Victim of Changes"
My favorite version is from the US Festival 1983
Back then noone thought for a second Rob was gay, most people had no idea what leather men where, and everyone just thought.. Metal!
