The entire river plate concert is probably one of the most well known AC/DC concerts of all time primarily because of how insane the crowd was. They know their shit and they know good music.

Angus is an icon, no doubt. His solos and riffs are instantly recognizable - one of my favorites is the lick he repeats during the verse in 'Back in Black' and the solo to 'Shook Me All night Long' was the first solo I learned - still one of my favorites all time. ANGUS!

To be honest...AC/DC may very well be the best live act in the history of music. They play absolutely flawlessly, and Brian's vocals are always on point. Angus Young....what can we say about him. Incredible guitar player and probably the best performing lead guitar of all time. They are the standard that all musical performances should be held to...and to be honest, nobody, and I mean NOBODY today comes even remotely close.

    • @diegrinder6851

Malcom Young though, he's always been the real artistic genius and he's the dynamo in the back driving the entire sound. Everyone kinda forgets because Brian and Angus are up front doing their jobs to draw all the attention; but Malcom is the little guy in the back often overshadowed by his own guitar, that is the true driving force behind every song. Malcom is laying down the rhythm that controls it all, that the others (including the massive audience) is all feeding off of. Every single song that AC/DC ever wrote, recorded or performed was being controlled by little head banging Malcom in the back, his tempo, his energy and his direction on every single song. The little beating heart of a giant beast.

The sign of musical greatness lies in longevity. The fact that third and fourth gen listeners of AC/DC, and other great rock bands, are still falling in love with and rocking out to these classics is amazing and a true testament to the existence of Rock and Roll. Styles come and go but the spirit of Rock, having been released 70 years ago, can never be sealed away again. Even if the Earth is doomed tomorrow, there's still that copy of Chuck Berry's 'Johnny B Goode' on the voyager probes for someone to find. Something will find it and Rock will rise once again.

Beautiful voices singing masterfully crafted songs are wonderful to watch, but there is nothing like some hard driving rock and roll with a live audience that's into it. Can you imagine the rush being there?. This was "pretty".awesome. Also one of your best reactions because of the obvious excitement you had.

I saw on CNN once that if album charts were based on sales and nothing else then AC/DC would have had the number one album since the early 90s with Back in Black. It sells that many copies every week.

When a reporter once said to Angus Young that he was probably one of the best lead guitar players of all time. Angus laughed and said that he's not even the best guitar playing in the band.

That "gentleman" there is Angus Young. He's by far the most famous of the group, for two reasons:
    1. He's been there from the beginning. When Bon Scott (lead singer from 1974-80) died, Angus was the one who remembered a conversation he had with Bon about Brian Johnson. Bon had heard Johnson at a bar in Liverpool a few years earlier, and told Angus during an Australia trip that he loved Brian's voice so much - Brian's performance style reminded him of Little Richard, Bon's big hero - that, if he ever died or couldn't sing anymore, THAT was the guy he wanted to take over, he fits AC/DC perfectly. Angus remembered this conversation in March 1980, a month after Bon's death - when the band wasn't even sure if they were going to keep playing together or disband - and convinced the band to find him and get him to audition. They loved him so much, they wanted him on the spot. They announced him taking over as vocalist on April 1, and Brian flew out to the Bahamas to meet the band to finish recording Back in Black, the album they'd been working on with Bon before he died. Brian's been there ever since, over 40 years now.
    |
    2. "The Energetic Schoolboy." Angus adopted the persona early on, ALWAYS performing in a school uniform. He's arguably the most famous guitarist in the world, not because he's necessarily the "best guitarist" on the planet (though he IS one of the best), but because of his legendary energy. This guy will rock out on his guitar in his schoolboy outfit for 3+ hours STRAIGHT, no breaks. Just non-stop dancing and strutting, and rapid-fire guitar playing. You know someone is a legend when all the OTHER famous guitarists from around the world name them as by far their favorite, the one they love the most to watch play.

This concert is next level, and the best part to me is on the wide camera shots, when not only is the audience swaying and bouncing in unison, but they're shaking the stadium, so the camera itself is bouncing. It just makes the audience look that much more alive, as if the crowd is pulsating.
