  • The endgame of this one was certainly not as strong as its early game. There is almost certainly a lot of stuff left undiscovered but the creation of this video has sucked out any passion I have for this mod, so I'll move on and maybe come back to look at it again a bit later down the line to see what we can find.
    Music:

    There is some strange artefacting at 10:30, didn’t show up in the Davinci Resolve preview so I assume it’s the result of it rendering an empty clip rather than what I should have done which was put a black background in between the clips.
    I know it’s there, it’s not worth going back to rerender and repost the video, but I’ll keep that in mind for next time so it doesn’t happen again. Hope you guys enjoy!

    When you started playing the 1812 Overture while clearing out nests, I thought "Where's the artillery? This needs artillery." A minute later, "Ah, _there's_ the artillery!", and perfectly synchronised to the music, too!

    Thankyou for cluing me in to this mod, had a real blast both playing it and watching you go through it. :D I got a good hundred or so extra hours of Factorio out of it, and thoroughly enjoyed building a buffer-based spaghetti factory instead of the usual throughput-based main bus one. Honestly probably my favourite factory out of the nearly 1000 hours of playing the game so far, definitely the one I've spent the most time with.

    The final mod is kind of weird. We had to build a gigafactory, research a bunch of technologies and extract millions of resources - for what? To get a portal to the starting world? Hey, I can go there anyway by selecting it as the platform's warp target. And I will find myself at home not a poor man, but with all the acquired property, with strong defenses and a ready-made missile silo.
    Good walkthrough. See, the mod isn't that scary, and hand-feeding furnaces is just a nasty and brief step :-]

    Imo you stopped too early. I put 150hrs in this mod and I am far from "finished"
    Honestly it only starts AFTER starting your first nuke.
    But it needs some mod support mostly by bobs stuff but then building a super efficient and small footprint factory is like a puzzle game. I love it
    Also warping for a specific planets like super rich ones and make it ur home, biter attacks will get massive and challenging again because of the exponential pollution

    Have you ever used nukes in factorio? From mods that add custom nukes, I learned that they are weak so I never used them, then during a recent vanilla playthrough I said fuck it, and build alot.... They are seriously powerful. With a spidertron they just delete biter bases.

    • @ripecontext
      @ripecontext  Рік тому +1

      I’ve used nukes a bit, but I’ve found that by the time you get them artillery has already made base clearing a breeze. Plus, I have bad experiences with nukes in spidertrons… dozens of them destroyed by auto firing nukes, but that’s probably my fault for letting them autofire.

    • @Enourmousletters
      @Enourmousletters Рік тому +1

      @@ripecontext I think if you ever find yourself saying " I have bad experiences with nukes" and "letting them autofire" in the same sentence then you need to reassess your life choices :P

    • @runelt99
      @runelt99 Рік тому

      @@ripecontext My issue is keeping nukes inside spidertron and then accidentally clicking C or spacebar and then nuking myself. Cannot imagine using autofire with them in spidertron, oof.
      Imo benefit of nukes is that you don't need to setup artillery or make big bertha type of train to clear out area. Just go in, throw nukes, done. Easy expansion.

    for clearing nest with power Armor i usually take also a flamethrower, you just need to run, burn behind you and the laser will only focus on clearing nest insted of the billion bitters who want you ass

      Definitely me overcompensating for how boring the footage was. The endgame of this mod is very weak, that being why 40% of this video is classical music synced up to biter destruction, but i can see i maybe went a bit overboard.

    • @Susul-lj2wm
