    I Started watching your tutorials! Video No. 3 is more interesting

    & I'll possibly paint my Carrera Hairpin Turn like yours just for a GOOD
    or BETTER corning GRIP to keep the cars on the track & Not FLYING

    The cobblestone is beautiful. I've been thinking for a while about doing it on some Ninco straights... with a broken soldering iron tip (sand it down until it's fine). But I think that with some type of putty like fiberglass, epoxy or stucco it would be more beautiful, easy to do and just by sanding, you lose the grip, that in a cobbled curve would be OMG

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  Рік тому

      Thank you 😊, it’s a fun project to do. Takes a bit of time 😂.. an epoxy would be a good idea for a mortar effect. I wouldn’t use stucco, I don’t believe it would last very well

    • @ThordoGames
      @ThordoGames Рік тому +1

      @@BoonesSlotCarGarage The stucco lasts, 10 years ago I made a super sliding lake effect curve with stucco and blue and white pigment, I have no data, other videos... but I did it and it turned out to be a movie, like the ones from scalextric that are sold in Spain

    Great work. Like that red brick section most !👍🏻
    When doin that, how much time did u spent in real time? (Or are u sleepless since starting ur project ? 😉
    Would luv to see you blending the painted sections to the unpainted ones, to look smoother. What you think about that?

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Torsten … in real time it took about 6 hours to complete the cobblestone area. The red brick is just as time consuming. ….. but the cracks go very fast…. 😂… the blending is a good idea… I’ll do this on the next painting video for sure. Thank you for the suggestion..

    Thank you Boone. I’m about done prepping my raceway surface for paint. I’m using AFX track and have smoothed out the joints with plastic putty and have completely sanded my entire layout to intentionally make it as slick as possible.
    I wasn’t even aware of the releasing agent before watching your videos, so I obviously have no idea how deep it penetrates. I was planning to use alcohol to clean my track before painting it, but do you recommend still using the lacquer thinner and scotch-brite steps to prep my track?

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  Рік тому +1

      If you are using alcohol that will be a good thing. But I do recommend scuffing the surface of the track to promote adhesion

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  8 місяців тому

      I know of a few people that used the technique on Carrera track. Yes it works, and it does have a higher melting point. The nice part is that with the higher melting point you get a little bit longer to create your effect , and with something that you really only get 1 shot at , it’s a good thing… 😂… And Thank You for watching my channel. Glad you are enjoying it.

    Hey mr Boone, reviewed tge whole series, you're a wizzard, the track pimping makes the slots kinda dissapear... you answered me before so would it be possible to construct a 360°turn returning to the same track and this done twice now having a ralleye track, saving space.(there is a scalexric "chrono ralleye" but isn't made anymore). Greetz mate.

    Hey booneman how long did the cobble stone take its awesome

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  2 роки тому

      😂 thanks Cal… the cobblestone took me around 6 hours total… now granted I did do some filming as well.. but it is labor intensive to do. “But” if you were to do the stone style cobblestone, instead of the brick style… it would take considerable less time to complete. And what I mean by the stone style is the type that I did on the polystyrene video… much easier to do…..

    What is scotchbrite? Is it a pan cleaner of sorts?

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  2 роки тому

      It’s a abrasive pad that is made by 3M … they have different colors for the different grits… the grey is a mild grit , so it won’t scar the plastic to the point that it creates deep cuts, but it creates a scuff that will improve the mechanical adhesion for the paint that is applied
