Thank you so much for making this hobby approachable for those of us on a budget. When I first saw custom keyboards, I thought people were crazy spending all that cash. You have proven this doesn’t have to be the case. Everyone who slaves away at the keys all day should have a board that brings them joy. Thanks for showing me how to do this!

Happy to see you review this! I got a barebones, non-RGB version on sale, and paired it with akko cream blue pro switches and mintcaps PBT keycaps. Adding a forcebreak mod (yes the screws were terrible and I won't be taking it apart again) left me with a great, creamy, marbley sound that I love gaming with

The PET sheet between the foam and the PCB, sometimes people spill stuff on their keyboard, they unplug it and let it dry for a night or a day, but encased foam is pretty horrible to dry out, so there's still likely to be moisture in there. The PET sheet is just another barrier that makes it less likely to short that way.

Found it on Amazon for $59 and couldn't resist due to all the praise. Got a black one, added Leobog Reapers and some DCX WoB and it indeed sounds amazing with a nice little pop on bottom out. The knob with black then WoB actually looks pretty nice! Glad I was able to come back to your review before hitting purchase last night! While it's nice, I wouldn't say it's as nice as a GMMK Pro with flex kit, definitely close though, when you consider the price for the GMMK with a flex kit, it would make no sense to spend that much $$$ when you can get this that is so close right out of the box for literally about 1/4th of the price. Especially considering neither of them are VIA/QMK.

You have pulled me into the depths of the hobby with this video. Haven’t looked into the custom keyboard scene for a few years. After I saw the beautiful color of this board, that it was better than the GMMK Pro, and the price I was instantly sold. Unfortunately the Blueberry Party prebuilt variant with the blue base was out of stock so I had to spend a little more to build it myself. Snagged a white replacement knob button because the red one was cringe.
Coming from a corsair K95 with rattly stabilizers and MX Browns it was a huge difference in quality (and I thought my previous upgrade from membrane to the k95 was large).
I have since also ordered an ND75 by chillkey and some silent Honey Peach linears to try out.
Next I am planing to try out 4 different Tactile switches at different weights to see if I prefer tactiles to linears and how heavy I line my switches.

you can replace the knob with replacement parts specficially made for the hi75 online but the knob is painful to remove

I think the hi75 works best when you take the foam out do a 1 - 2 layer tape mod so that way you can keep the flex but get some of the fullness of how it sounds with the foam

Hi everone! Since I have seen the rainy75 i fell in love with it, but it is out of stock. Now I watched this video so I was wondering what do you think i should do. Wait for rainy75 to be on stock again, or buy this one? Which one you think is better? Rainy is more expensive btw

I just bought this keyboard on a whim after seeing this video (I bought the full prebuilt) and it's probably my favorite keyboard I've ever had. I loved it as it came but then after debating for a few hours I removed the foam on the bottom as recommended and then did a tempest mod and a force break mod (not sure if that did anything or not) and it not only sounds nearly perfect but it's a lot bouncier giving me an opportunity to tell my girlfriend about it. She loves it when I talk nerdy to her.

Can you try the Xingmeng A66? It is a budget keyboard with almost everything that a higher end custom keyboard has, the prebuilt is also really good.

It sounds a million times better with all the foam 😅

I removed the pe foam (leaving the pet film + plate foam and case foam) and tape mod it, put a creamy switch like a BSUN Sunset Yellow. Used DCX ABS keycaps... it sounds almost too creamy and has such a low pitched pop it's ridiculous. That pp plate makes it super creamy. You can get knob replacements for cheap. I got an opaque white for my blue board, looks perfect for just $2 shipped.

Oh, I got a gmk87 with Leobogs greywood v4, they come prelubed and they are super good. I actually paid a grand total of 10 euro for 90 on aliexpress! I am flirting with the idea of a Hi75 myself, I'm kind of having a good fun with Aliexpress stuff. Ciy models are particularly cheap barbones if you just want to do some tinkering just to bring one at work or something

@Hipyo Tech - Here’s a video idea, man: hot-swap sockets are usually rated by the manufacturer for a number of switch swaps before they start degrading - at least if you don’t support the PCB from the back. Usually in the range of 100 swaps or so. How about a comparison video where you take a stock hot-swap board, and one you build yourself from the PCB up: change a couple of switches a couple of hundred times from the top of the plate in the stock keeb vs. supporting the PCB from the back in the custom build one. See how long it actually takes to start getting malfunctions or degradation.
    Top-tier keyboard investigation stuff.🙂

Hippyo I'm surprised you haven't looked at the epomaker aula f75. It's cheaper fully built with the same amount of foam and feature set, except it supports bluetooth and 2.4 GHz. Only "drawback" is that it is a plastic case.

Hipyo, I've been in search for a keyboard with very specific conditions, do you happen to know one?
    - XT on left
    - has programmable knob
    - No RGB
    - has F row keys
    - Can be full size or TKL, but ideally arrow keys are separate from normal keyboard layout
    - QIA/VMK support
