Bro.....hahaha I can see it in your face. God, that has to feel good to play that shit man. Well done. Watching you is a joy. Not many can follow Haake. Subscribed.
I shat out a snare head 🥁 and then my eyes made sticks from hearing the sound of those drums 🎉🎉 Edit: Thanks for the love! ❤️ sick drumset and cover broski! 🤘🏼
Fantastic work man. The sound of your drums, first off, on point. Deep, bassy, and very fitting and accurate to the song. Then, your playing. As far as I could tell, it was pretty much flawless. I don't know how much practice it took, but you really seemed to have no trouble keeping up with the off-beat rhythms and didn't seem to slip up at all. Whether it took you one take, or a thousand takes, I'm impressed either way. Cool, collected, professional, yet also clearly feeling it, I can tell you love the music and you do your best to do it justice. Also, dig the choice of song. Great one to do a cover on. Last thing I want to mention, you have a monster kit. That thing is imposing. I like it.
I must admit that it was when ramdom liveclips came out I finally figured out what is actually going on with the toms and kick. And btw your drums sounds great! 1:57 =goosebumps
Perfect cover man. Drum sound is on point, thick sounding snare and very punchy, low tuned toms just like on the record. Simply spot on dude, well done!
This is one of those tracks that I thought was pretty cool the first few times i heard it, but then it reeally grew on me. Best track on the album for sure. Nicely done cover.
damn, the first riff of this song, that doesn't fill a full bar and is being repeated over in over not from the first beat of the bar, always blows my mind, i don't know how you people are counting or remembering that stuff, well done
I had to transcribe the drums to understand that change because that riff as you said does blow your mind, that band is full of geniuses!! I Love Meshuggah
@@chuchoromus I know I already commented before, but every time I get impressed by your cover. I understand how much time and effort it takes to play Meshuggah. So I wish you luck in everything you are doing)
I await your Clockworks cover. 😈 Kidding 😂 This was as pleasurable to listen to as it was to watch. Your passion was utterly palpable and contagious. And your sound recordings are absolutely *diamond crisp* in quality! ❤🤌

Awesome stuff! Love your vids, dude! Have you listened to any Between the Buried and Me or Native Construct? There aren't enough covers of them, on UA-cam for me. 🙂
I can't get over how good this is. Did you memorize the tom/snare pattern? Or did you feel out the snare placement, just knowing where you were in the measure and were able to split your brain and keep that tom pattern going? Hope that make sense. 😆 Really good, man!
Thank you very much dude. And yes, in my experience playing meshuggah covers it's necessary to memorize the rhythmic patterns to understand how each of the notes is played, in this case how the notes alternate between the toms and the bass drum
Thanks dude, yes I’m pretty sure, it is characteristic of him that type of patterns and that’s how it sounds. Another example is Pravus, the bass drum never sounds at the same time as the snare even though it seems that it does
He has stated in interviews that he rarely hits the snare / toms at the same time as the kick. He does in those impactful hits near the end, but not during these linear patterns. The toms are very deep and clicky, hard to tell apart from kicks sometimes, but its a linear pattern with no kicks under the toms. Confirmed by live video of Tomas playing this song from behind the kit. Somebody actually transcribed this whole song and wrote an article about it, but they transcribed it wrong with kicks underneath everything.. i tried to tell them lol.
@@meters_and_madness which live video are you referring to? I checked some out myself and it seriously sounds like he's hitting the kick along with the toms
@@deathonion404 I tried to find it, I think it was removed. It was cell phone video behind the kit for the first 4 songs of the set. It was posted in the Meshuggah facebook group, but I can't find it anywhere. I'll post it if it pops up.

Nothing more satisfying than watching a drummer do challenging shit with seemingly no effort
3:03 is honestly one of the best riffs i've ever heard in my life, there's a reason they make you wait nearly 3 minutes for it.
My personal favorite is the riff during the build up. Not sure how best to describe it, the creepy dissonant one that first plays 35 seconds in.
That snare sound deserves an award and a girlfriend.
That tone... IMMACULATE ❤
Thanks Thomas!!
Such a cool song. Dark, atomspheric, and hypnotic, even for Meshuggah.

Solid! It helped me listen to the song from a different rhythmic perspective
