There's nothing like watching a guy in full command of his instrument play a song he knows and loves to the core. I don't know how many dozens of times I've come back to watch this - the song is great, but there's just something about watching you play it that just brings out the raw power of the rhythms and cranks it up a notch for me. Your kit sounds amazing, btw, your snare in particular - just cuts through everything like butter. But for me, the clincher was your cymbal hits, clean and articulated. Beautiful piece of work, man. Cheers from Montreal.
This song for me is the most badass shit ever done, especially the bridge and the GREAT final part. Being able to play this song, no matter the instrument, must be so satisfying. Thank you and congratulations for your outstanding work Chucho!!!
The way you kept the snare on 3 during the triplet subdivisions by the end was absolutely astonishing. The only times I drop a like before a video ends is while watching excellent drum covers of Meshuggah's songs.
Nice job, I just recently started transcribing this song with my music software so I could learn how to play it as well. Broken Cog and Ligature Marks are probably the only two tracks off their latest album that I have put the time in to learn how to play so far. This song is a bit intimidating at first, but it's definitely doable once you start to write it out and understand the rhythm structure. Meshuggah's latest Immutable album has some very wild and bizarre rhythms even for Meshuggah, so it's been a lot of fun learning them.
You killed that, man! I would've liked to see a couple more flams, where they are in the original, but that's nothing, you absolutely nailed that. What you've changed a bit (maybe to suit your playing more) worked nicely, the sticking on the part, that ends with the words "I am that thirst", was really helpful to see after imagining many times, how I would've played it, and that part also is the main highlight of the video for me, nice job! I definitely will be jamming to this video many times.
You did it in a masterful way. The only detail that differs from the original is hitting both the kick and the snare at the same time. Same with Broken Cog. But besides that one minor detail - as if I were listening and seeing Tomas.
this is worth the internet bill
Thanks dude!!!
the ghost notes❤
The dynamics.
The attention to detail.
This shit is top tier!
Thank you dude!!!!
A year later and i still cannot get enough of this rendition
This is air tight dawg
So tight--this song is so much fun to listen to.
Fucking love this! Doesn't seem forced at all and man it sounds incredible!
Thank you much dude
I've never heard of Bosphorus cymbals, but they sound incredible. Great cover.

Thank you very much dude, I really appreciate your comment, and yes, a slight difference but it's good to know that you still enjoyed it
One of the best drum covers I've ever seen. You nailed everything. How long did it take to learn the song?
thank you so much dude, it took me about two weeks to learn it detail by detail
Anyone know the time signature?
Time signature is 4/4, but the phrase itself is not, meaning it "resets" in an odd places (not the 1 of each bar) which gives it the odd-time feeling
In addition to what the other guy was saying, the snare is almost always on the 3 and one of the cymbals is usually keeping straight 4/4
what drums are you using. I can't tell from the camera angles. PDP?
It’s a Pearl reference
Snare and cymbals sound great, everything else is clicky.. idk 🤷🏻♂️wish one day i can play like you though!
