    What many don't get: It would've changed nothing. I'm a German myself. Hitler was only one of many. If he wouldn't have been there, somebody else would've done what he did. Maybe not exactly the same but fairly similarly. The Versailles Treaty did all this damage, changing it would've changed so much. But even if I had a time machine, I wouldn't change anything. Changing things may change everything. And if WW2 didn't happen, many Germans wouldn't exist, including me. My Grandma had fled from Berlin to the Southwest of Germany, if she didn't, I wouldn't exist. It is what it is and we have to accept it but also remember what happened.

      1) I don't want to be a baby murderer no matter who it is.
      2) Knowing what's potentially coming does not necessarily justify a crime
      3) Said it before but you would alter the course of history in a way I believe you could not possibly predict.

      As a side note, there is no proof that suffering makes us smarter or learn faster, its the opposite. There has been more scientific discoveries in the past fifty years than the entirety of every era of strife'war combined. Necessity is the mother of invention, conflict is merely a convenient excuse.

      How how would that be possible? Let's just assume that time travel is possible in the first place. You can use time, to go back to the past or into the future. But you can't change the fundamentals of time, because with out time, there wouldn't be a space(reality). It can be manipulated(meaning go back and forth), but it can't be changed. The way paradox works is that it's changing the reality of it by time, it doesn't changes time it self. It certainly changes history, not time. So how would a paradox machine be build, to change reality? Can you even change reality? Isn't reality just a perception we perceived? If then, wouldn't you just changed the way our brain perceive reality? Some sort of drug to (trick) us see the world differently, the live in a different historical world? ( eg. Inception).
      So in the end, a paradox-machine is just something to trick our mind into believing a different reality.

    • @cawareyoudoin7379
      @cawareyoudoin7379 6 років тому +115

      Any time travel (to the past) at all would have to assume the multiple universes theory to be right, and at play. Only then it could work, like this: You go back in time, change whatever it is you wanted to change, and you come back to your time period, but not to the same universe. The moment you changed the timeline, your universe split into two, and your original one doesn't change at all; you come back to the universe that you created by making a change. It would be kind of like overwriting your save file in a game, but the old one doesn't get deleted: you just can't access it. So even if you killed yourself as a baby, you would still come back and live normally, because you were not that baby, but the baby from the previous universe.
      Makes sense?

    If I had the power to go back in time, instead of killing baby Hitler I would go back in time to 1914 to prevent the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand because his death sparked WW1 and without WW1 there wouldn't be a WW2.
    But then of course all of the important events from the 20th century would have never happened and my great grand parents most likely wouldn't have even been born creating a paradox and the this time line would be ruined.

    • @SkyAce200
      @SkyAce200 5 років тому +755

      It's historically known that the death of Franz Ferdinand was just a catalyst, a mere excuse for WW1. World leaders at that time were already growing massive armies and testing new technologies brought by the industrial revolution to make better and bigger weapons, many years before the WW1 started. It's like they were all begging for a war to test all of this.
      So, if Franz Ferdinand hadn't been killed, they'd just had to look for another excuse.

      Yeah I dont believe in that. Time travel is impossible.. You can only travel between different universes. You'd have to find a universe that was identical to ours, find one thats in the year 1945, hope that universe even has a Hitler, THEN kill him. But since you are in a different universe you will only change that universes timeline. When you return to your original universe nothing would be different. Paradoxes solved.

      many "Hitlers" are probably being assassinated by misguided time travelers on a regular basis and the Hitler that we know and hate is just the current version. or maybe there are only a few "Hitlers" and every time a time traveler succeeds in assassinating "Hitler" he changes his own perception of history, thereby causing him to assassinate his version of "Hitler" instead and leaving whatever "Hitler" we are aware of to rise to power. even if the same time traveler realizes the futility of it and gives up while the universe is on a different "Hitler", another time traveler will inevitably come along to assassinate "their Hitler", and "our Hitler" will be back in play. its an endless oscillation that is always it's own cause for undoing itself.

      Being accepted in the art uni would not change a thing. Hitler did not fail, he was not accepted because the examiner saw his talent and interest in architecture, not in drawing. To apply to architecture school he needed a certificate about finishing Realschule, which he did not. Mainly because he hated it and had excuse not to attend from doctor because of lungs related illness.
      Despite any of that, his mother would still die, making him to move to Vienna to live a life of poverty. The only thing which would change is what instead of dreaming of being an architect, he'd be working towards more artistic ways of expressing himself.
      Art school wasn't the turning point. The German humiliation after the war with France and division of german nation was. Hitler was involved in politics from age of 8. So was the whole german nation.
