I'm Vietnamese and I sometimes have it for my breakfast. I can easily get it because it is popularly sold on sidewalks and I also don't have time to cook it but i still watch your video. It is a good choice for breakfast in Vietnam because it's yummy, quite cheap and full
I don't even like pork, but when I was in Hanoi I did a cooking class and we tried a very similar pork on the street before making it ourselves. Oh. My. God. It was incredible. The saltiness of the fish sauce and soy sauce. The sweetness of the green onions. The char from the grill. So good!
Love your weeknight cooking series! I come home from work around 6pm, so it's nice to see an easy recipe that I can prep the night before and just throw together in an hour. Thank you!
hooray!! i'm so happy to hear. i know the feeling - coming home from a long day of work, dinner must come together in less than an hour ... or bust. lol! more to come!! xo
I loveeee com tam! I’ve moved out of my hometown and I miss all the Asian food! Thank you for making this video! You should make a com tam series and make the steamed egg and the shrimp 🤤🤤🤤
I’ll be honest I have never been interested in cooking Asian cuisine until I found your channel. It has always seemed too intimidating and overly complicated when I’ve looked at recipes in cookbooks. Even the ingredients seemed too confusing and obscure. But somehow you make it so doable. Not sure if I’m going to invest in thick soy sauce yet but definitely going to get some lemongrass on my next trip for groceries ☺️
I'm so happy to hear!! I try to find ingredients that are accessible for all! For the thick soy sauce, try just mixing molasses with soy sauce and salt. It should be somewhat smoky / sweet. Good luck!! :)
I've just tried this for dinner, and my family loves this so much! So Yummy!! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Ps. I marinated for six hours. The meat was so tender, juicy and savory.
Hi! Just checking in to leave you a big big thank you~ I've learned so much fast, convenient, and most importantly delicious recipes from your channel~ Your channel really changed my attitude of cooking at home, I've really come to realize how empowering it is to prepare some nice food and truly enjoy the moment when I can taste my own effort and it's such a pleasure. Also love your positivity you spread with your videos, there have been days when I just feel too tired to move but somehow you are able to get me motivated and get up and cook some food, and I would feel so much better afterwards. Love your personality. Of course you must have your down moments, but isn't it what a community is about? To cheer each other up when we need the energy~ Many very genuine thanks. And please keep up all this good work and wish you all the best~~
Yeaayyy honeysuckle ❤️ It’s 00.15 in Jakarta, Indonesia and watching world cup..so lucky I noticed the notification .. Uuhh love vietnames pork riceee🤤🤤 I usually dip it with the vietnamese sweet and sour chilly
it turned out OK, but i had to sub some ingredients. i couldn't get any lemongrass so i used a mixture of lemon and lime juices, and the soy sauce i had to sub out plain soy with some dark brown sugar. next time i make it, i'll have the lemongrass (i live in Santa Monica, so i can get it, but the store i went to was sold out) and i'll be using Healthy Boy black soy sauce. plus next time i'll grill it properly rather than pan frying it. but this one's going to be in heavy rotation in our house from now on! :) thank you so much for posting the video!
I noticed you make a lot of grilled food and just wanted to let you know that the george foreman indoor grill cuts the cooking time in half and cooks evenly from both sides. My meats and veggies usually cook up in 5-10 mins.
Omg this was my favorite meal as a kid. I had grilled pork with broken rice instead of regular white rice, but I’m sure grilled meat can pair with anything and still tastes good. It’s a little crazy now to think that I had this dish for breakfast as a kid 😂
absolutely!! breakfast growing up was always some kind of leftover vietnamese dish from the night before. I didn't have sweet things - my parents were against buying cereal for us. lol!! pho for breakfast was my favorite!!! :D
Do you know how to make eggplant tofu like Panda Express??????I love love love eggplant tofu,it's too oily in Panda Express, but the taste is amazing, very close to my hometown dishes.....if you know, please please please make it .......thank you so much
I love tikka. My dad use to always cook it for me when I was little. I love Vietnamese food, even though I'm Vietnamese, I love most of the dish. Not all Vietnamese people like ti eat Vietnamese food.
Thick soy sauce? Is it kecap manis, Dzung? And this recipe looks awesome and the pork looks juicy, ahhh I wanna try it soon! We always marinate ours with soy sauce with calamansi (Philippine lime, looks like little keylimes I guess) or lemon or keylime, garlic, brown sugar, a little bit of salt, pepper, some ketchup and fish sauce...well actually, we just thow in what's available, really. Sometimes there is honey or mustard, green onion ir other things. 🤔
That looks beautiful and delicious! Just needs a fried egg on top. And blasphemous that you did not have a bowl of fish sauce on the side. I douse my plate with that stuff because I'm a heathen like that. :)
Rose Taylor Judging by the ingredients she used as long as you don’t put the raw meat into the marinade yet you should be able to taste and make your own adjustments if necessary.
Hm, did you and Seonkyoung Longest just make almost the same recipe, with the same sponsor and everything? Something smells fishy (and not porky), haha. Anyways, it sounds so delicious, I wanna give it a try!
Thumbs up for Vietnamese Food!
Honeysuckle so yummy!!! Love that pan!! Where did you get it? :).

that sounds delicious and i love the idea of using what you have to create something wonderful! i'll have to try key lime next time. :D
Honeysuckle Yes, we had a lot of jackpots when doing this! 😋 And it helps when we want to finish some ingredient. 👌
too sweet but a nice dish mixture
Great looking chop! Weird how Seonkyoung Longest had the same video today, same recipe, same sponsor. 🤔 great video though !
Mariel Paez I went to the video and the ingredients aren’t the same.
That looks beautiful and delicious! Just needs a fried egg on top. And blasphemous that you did not have a bowl of fish sauce on the side. I douse my plate with that stuff because I'm a heathen like that. :)
I'm glad she's happily married. But I'm soooooo in love with her.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
She's sexy....
Is there any other meat you could substitute?
this would work on chicken or beef too!
Drool.......
Can marinade be tasted before using it or do you need to cook it first?
Rose Taylor Judging by the ingredients she used as long as you don’t put the raw meat into the marinade yet you should be able to taste and make your own adjustments if necessary.
It can be tasted before you add the meat - once you add the meat, I recommend cooking and using as a glaze after!
Thankyou
Are you Vietnamese?🇻🇳
Where did you get your oil dispenser?
sur la table or target!
I'm form VietNammes
Hm, did you and Seonkyoung Longest just make almost the same recipe, with the same sponsor and everything? Something smells fishy (and not porky), haha. Anyways, it sounds so delicious, I wanna give it a try!
Hmm yes, same sponsor but I had no idea she would make this too! I'll have to watch :)
I was thinking the same!!
Those are the basic and must have the ingredients for the pork chops. So I think it's just the coincidence they make close to the same time.
❤️❤️❤️
what rice cooker do you use?
the mealthy for brown rice and for white rice - i just do stove top.
Thanks so much! Hope everything is going well with your husband and child : )
yess we are all for less dishes to wash!!
I have all the ingredients for this I need to try this!!!
yay!! let me know what you think!
B-but _the meat juices_ ;~;
Literally my mouth is watering🤤
Not funny!
The white processed sugar lost me right off the bat. Let’s just make this unhealthy from the start.
It balances out the flavor. Viet food is different than American food in that way, everything has sugar in it but we also use less salt.
Though Del has a soda with his meal. Lol
