Van Dale Silo Unloader at Work/Cows Out For A Run
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 тра 2024
- The colder temps have given way to a warm-up on our Minnesota Dairy Farm. Alan feeds sorghum from the silo, giving an up-close look at how our Van Dale Silo Unloader works. The dry cows and heifers are enjoying the fermented feed. The Dairy Cows finally get to get outside and stretch their legs after being kept safe and warm in the barn the last few days. The cows go for a good run before finally deciding to settle in and eat some hay outside. Alan also makes a couple of quick fence repairs before it's time for him to head back to work driving bus.

Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Dairy Farming in Minnesota can be challenging, but it's a lifestyle we really enjoy. Subscribe today to watch our small family dairy farm and family grow while continuing to thank our Lord for the blessings we've been given.
Small farms/farmers are the life blood of America thanks for bringing us along, I realize its a ton of work to video the daily life of a farmer but without people like you taking the time it will be lost to the ages.
Thank you for a little bit of sanity in today’s world . God Bless you and your family . Thank you again .
I appreciate how clean your cows are. That takes effort when they are inside a lot over the winter . It is a great look for the industry. 👍
I'll pass your compliment along, Jen thought they looked dirty still when she was editing the video. She has high standards for how the cows look! Thanks!
Got to love how the cows turn into little kids running around when you first turn them out or for us switch pastures
Happy cows always enjoy the good times
Some happy pals. They are having fun. You sure do have a lot on your plate every day. God bless your family and farm.
Great to see the ladies out and enjoying themselves. God bless.
Love small farmers
I know it’s definitely not the easiest life sometimes but you and your family are living an extremely blessed life!
Always fun to see happy animals. Thanks for sharing, D
Often when I see an electric fence I remember when we were kids and I was visiting a friend who had a farm. We were walking around looking for trouble and my friend, who had a younger brother, said to him, "Hey, Tommy. Why don't you take a pee on that wire and see what happens.". Well, Tommy did and started hollering and ran all the way back to the house.
The girls sure looked happy to be out.
Only a true Minnesotan would think 23 degrees is warm. 😂
Happy cows. Glad to get some exercise.
So happy to find your channel and since then, I've been watching every video that I can find. It's so relaxing and rewarding to see the fruits of your labors. I ran my first plow just before I turned 6. My Uncle Mac had to run to the barn for something and I kept that Ford 8N straight to the end of the row. It took both feet to push in the clutch, but I got it done. God Bless!
I remember how hard it was to push in the clutch, when my grandfather was teaching me to drive the Ferguson I had tennis shoes and it hurt my foot a bit to hold it down
Silo unloaders are great and like lots of things on the farm. When they work they are awesome, when they break they are like so many other things on a dairy, THEY NEVER BREAK DOWN when your NOT using them AKA manure spreaders, milking machines, skid loaders etc etc. lol Kevin.
Thanks for sharing like watching the cows be turned out
Another great video from Trinity Dairy. It always makes my day when I see the farm and how you and family take care of it. Can't wait for next one and God Bless!!!
The girls were happy to outside. God bless
The cows look so Happy to be outside ❤
Nice job o keeping your cows clean🙂
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. God Bless
Great video as always!
After u let the cows out after a few days of being inside looks like they r so happy God bless
You must have your chipping wheels set up perfectly. The walls look great!
The cows seem happy
Another very interesting video Thank you
Cows getting frisky 🐄
We have the same problem with birch trees falling on our fence too 😂
😅😅
Farm life just don't ran out of work
thanks for showing silo unloader always wondered how they worked neighbour had harvestore drag chain would break perioditly what a mess that silaage in bottom was so hard packed you could not dig by hand used chain saw i worked at mf dealer for while boss traded 630 case in one time i went through that thing new every thing even pump/ injectors never would start when it got cold finally sold it to a guy that had one he lived on a hill he said his never started good ince new rolled it to strart
Thanks for showing us the PTO AIR COMPRESSOR !!! Ford probably made it !!! John Deere also Made them for the A-Bs
Found one on ebay, vintage willard anderson company B-29 PTO tire pump
Looks like those cows are exhibiting joy.
Good day folks, why not put a couple sheets of tin, plywood, plastic on the sides of the unloading auger out of The silo to help contain the chaf blowing
Your cow are looking good for the cold winter
Great video
I like that particular type insulator, enjoyed the visit
GODS COUNTRY YOU ARE BLESSED 👍
Nice video, herd looking great! 🐮🐮🐮🐄
Thanks for sharing. Cows enjoy being out. Running around like spring calfs. Lol. The kettle river looked so pretty. Always kinda happens. Huh? When a branch breaks off. Could have 40 acres to fall in but it finds the fence. Every time.
Happy cows! 👍👏🐄
I always wondered about the silo unloader system thanks!
Very nice job on all of the videos and God bless y'all
Like kids at recess when they were let out.
Yes it’s beautiful warm out here to in the 709 in Canada 🇨🇦. Old part look 👀 like it’s off an international call I can tell you , I grew up 🔝 around the old stuff . Great little video take care . 😊
Long time since I seen an unloaded in action, thank you for doing the video. We have no snow down here in Isanti County
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Alan and Jennifer
Have you ever thought of doing a video of the plant that your milk goes to or a video of what it takes to get a heater or a calf ready for 4H?
We aren't allowed in our plants for food safety reasons, but I wish we could. We could definitely follow along with the kids more closely with their fair heifers.
I would guess that a lot of your viewers would find it interesting. I can't remember from when I did 4H but, do people show bulls in a class or no?
Cows sure looked happy to get outside.
If you don't get an answer on that part, maybe take it to an auction you go to and see if someone there may know something about it.
Your air pump looks the color of Farmall or McCormack. I have a John Deere and these things work great. Just always remember to chain them fast to the drawbar. 😅
In the wintertime, the silence would freeze to the walls. And we had farmers that were going there and start chipping at frost off the walls. And then the whole works would come down and Can get covered up when that would all let loose in. Sometimes they didn't make it because then they couldn't breathe because of being covered up. So we lost a lot of farmers that way
We had a john deere air compressor boy I forgot about it till I saw the red one
Happy cow more milk
Just a really neat video, Alan. The amount of work that has to be done in a winter sometimes gets overwhelming especially when freezing occurs. And it seems you guys out in Minnesota have some real nasty winters, some deep snow.. Here in Western Pennsylvania it's not too deep, maybe except for once every two years a big one shows up. We are experiencing nasty winds. I will ask some friends about your item. You have a good day, Skip
Cows need exercise too!
Enjoy the different topics of your videos. Looks like the cattle enjoyed getting out for a romp. The silo unloader makes the job easier than the "armstrong unloader"...been there done that in a 10x40 stave silo.
I've pitched out our 12×50 a couple times, and that was enough for me.
Enjoyed the video. Don't know why, but watching cattle kick up their heels is very enjoyable, because they are so gracefully ungraceful, for want of a better expression. They looked happy. I wish my screen was larger so I could have watched the grouse better, but I did see and hear something movement. We used to have bobwhites and pheasants when I was young, but not anymore.
Thanks for taking us along.
I doubt you would have the time, but there is a youtube channel called 'Just a Few Acres Farm' and besides farming Pete works on restoring old Farmalls. He is working on one right now that really reminds me of the one you had warming up. He explains everything he does and I enjoy it even though I couldn't possibly do it myself. At the moment he has the front separated from the back of the tractor. Not trying to hawk his channel, mind you, just an idea. (Yeah, with all of your spare time---which I know you don't have.) Take Care and God Bless you all.
Oh, the boys love to watch Just a Few Acres Farm! They are keeping up with his current tractor restoration.
Thanks for the video
Dzięki 👍
Nice feed, to bad the silo isn't fuller.
They look awesome !
Heat wave 😂 🐂🐃🐄
Didn’t like walking the fences in the woods during my younger days. Alway seem to find the breaks the farthest away from the toolboxes on the tractor wagon or mule slide. Of course this was about 50 years ago too so there was no such thing as a 4 wheeler or side by side then.
looks like it goes to a Internatioal or Farmall
Thanks for sharing, I never saw a silo unloader working. I was the silo unloader with a silage fork. As far as that part you have, I don’t know, maybe some kind of shock absorber?
The famous "Twin Arm, Surface Drive" Unloaders! Usually stocked by the local Co-op, and seldom failed to start with regular updates (new handles!)😂
fun video, thanks. I don't know the answer on the compressor, but the number starting with 8n seems like a strong clue that it would be made by ford. A lot of the ford part numbers start with 8n or 9n.
With them drive wheels like that. It was always fun to start a new silo. Because if you fed it very hard, they would Bury themselves. And then you'd have to climb the silo. Dig out the wheels, start up the unloader again. was always a lot of fun an work
You have a strange idea of fun! I found it to just be work, and always when I was in a hurry. 😂
At least van dale were easy to un bury patz were pain to un bury
Never seen on before but typically ford used the model number in the part number. So I would believe it's a ford 8n accessory
Looks like part of a 3 point to a ford 8n
Here in Vermont its 20° above normal 😢 sucks for snowmobiling and ice fishing.
Looks like Dearborn red to me
Think it may be a international harvester.
I believe that's a international built air compressor you got
Dual all loader parts
I think that is for a IH I seem one of them
I have the same PTO air pump but I'm also not sure if it's a Ford or IH
I've never seen a compressor like that. There's one on eBay identical to that one but the seller description says that they do not know who manufactured it either
No idea on that part but I'm curious as well. Indeed it has gotten warmer and a very welcome change. I'll say this: a good working silo unloader beats pitching by hand. I don't know much about Van Dale but it looks like a nice unit. Did Pa bring the horses to help with hauling wood? I do enjoy watching those videos too.
No horses this time.
IH pto air tire pump.
Your cows are so clean, what's the trick?
Brushing them everyday?
Partially, yes. But the trainers above the cows help the most.
You don't have net gas?
Massy Ferguson I would guess
What model Case combine is that in the background and does it still work?
It's a 660, but the engine is stuck.
U had a JI Case 730 (I think) in the shop that U were working on little by little. What happened with that?
I'm still messing with it, I'm having a hard time getting the heads to come off.
Why are your plants birch trees dying??
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
Comment
What state are you from?
Minnesota
wow how old is that unloader? you ever have a cow get out how far did they get? had a whiteface get out and dissapear for weeks people were seeing her on game cameras but no one saw her just appeared back in pasture one day just like nothing to i
I'm not sure how old it is, but it hasn't been used much, the people I bought it from, purchased it new, and emptied a 40ft silo 3 times. We've had cattle get out, but I think the farthest they have gone, was about a quarter mile down the road. Years ago my grandpa had some beef steers get out, they crossed the river
and we never did find them.
Hi how could I get some things from you
From our merch store?
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
