In my opinion 343 should have created an "anniversary" multiplayer like H2A which is made with H4 graphic engine. H1A mp would be great with Reach engine and other little improvements
@Thomas Houghton H2A multiplayer has new graphics and new mechanics like shield in zenith, emp turret in bloodline ecc. and it's made with H4 engine. HCE is remaked with Reach engine ok, but still have old graphics and gameplay, so i think H1A should have new contents like H2A but with Reach graphics and mechanics (and maybe new weapons considering that H2A brought cut weapons like assault rifle or suppressed smg)

HCEA could have gotten a similar treatment where it could have had a unique multiplayer experience built in Reach's engine without just using Reach with CE maps as the multiplayer.

And as far as I can tell, the s3dpak files for multiplayer maps only have data in them for the HUD and UI so if you brought over the s3dpak for an MP map, my guess is that you would see absolutely nothing besides maybe placeholder cubes for all objects on the map.

Idk if you did this already but i had a great idea when playing invasion. There is a fully functioning pelican and phantom on spire when you play invasion . Now what thought of was , if they were piloted by an AI or they were acting as AI themselves.
Although the maps are really differently oriented, that was still cool to see! I wonder if theres an easy way to copy and paste some elements of the original map so there could be a tiny bit more of seamless movement when moving in anniversary graphics. (Kind of like forge mode but moving structures to where the visual structures show up in anniversary graphics so they are alligned: obviously this wouldnt be perfect but it would feel satisfying to play on I think.)

A strange suggestion I have based on experience with modding in a different game. I know I said I mod a different game, but it may work. Making sub folders. In the game I mod, when we want to load assets from Campaign to Multiplayer, we rename the campaign file to the multiplayer, place it in a subfolder, and play that way. The game I mod prioritizes loading subfolders, and loads cp assets, followed by multiplayer assets. I dont think it can work with Halo as it did for me, because I know they dont run on the same game engine. I'm just giving you an idea as to fix some things
The way it works in layman's is that In Halo CEs engine a map will only generate files and assets that it can recognize. Because this mod is very crude and only "swaps" assets for ones used in the remaster there are numerous things that don't get properly generated when the game loads. Namely terrain which cannot be swapped. And assets like tanks or vehicles that the game has no reference file for on those maps. Because the silent cartographer map did not have a Scorpion tank and that is where the files are being ported to the multiplayer map there is no updated texture for the game to reference and their might not even be a remastered asset for the MP scorpion tank. I'm hoping that clever modders out there might be able to use assets from the entire game to generate better "multiplayer maps later" but it looks like all the terrain and collisions will need to be redone. So it would likely be a very time consuming project.

Its possible it could be done it would most likely just be a nightmare to pull off and would have been easiest with a map like the silent cartographer. But you could easily recreate locations like the pillar of autumns engine room, part of the library, the snowy area outside the control room, or maybe the areas of the mission halo where you rescue the marines, or the elevator to the truth and reconciliation. I honestly thought about that as a kid lol.
How are you supposed to be able to play coop in campaign? I'm trying to play through halo 2 and 3 with my friend so he can have a guide while he discovers the story but I keep having problems
In Anniversary graphics probably not. But in general? Seems like they can. Inferno Plus had that Desert Bus 2.0 mod with all the modded Warthogs and he has separate downloads for MCC PC and Custom Edition.
So it looks like what they did for all of the anniversary graphics they just remade models and replaced them over the collisions and when you hit the button to switch it just hides the classic and shows the Anniversary.

There was alot of serious criticism that although the remasters were done well to bring the games graphics up to modern standards they completely butchered the games sound design and overall tone. I enjoy it for what it is but I actually find the original game to be vastly superior when it comes to how the story is delivered. The Halo 2 anniversary I have 0 complaints and they did a incredible job.

Halo Anniversary is based upon the Halo PC port, which was of course derived from the Xbox version. It shouldn't change anything.
