Used Quest 2's are still the best way to get into VR relatively cheaply, I got mine for $240 and it works great, and that was before the Quest 3 came out so I'm sure they're even cheaper now. Quest 3's also really aren't that expensive new if you can spend a little extra to get better resolution, more power under the hood, etc, but the Quest 2 is still a pretty solid headset for entry level.
Quest headsets have made VR significantly more accessible. You can buy a used Quest 2 or even a Quest 3s for pretty cheap. Hell, I even think Quest 3 is worth the price in terms of the difference in quality. I'd argue you're getting much better visuals than some $1000+ setups.

Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland will NEVER be done because the lead developer (who was also the most productive on it) was hired by Bethesda to work on supporting Fallout 76. And like a disloyal little dog he ran toward the money and abandoned his so-called "passion project." Blame the mod author for abandoning it.

One time I had a dream that I got to hold a Magnum and some ODSTs showed me how it worked, how the smart-scope works, etc and it was almost exactly like that. I was so excited to show my buddies (who were massive Halo fans) the next day... Imagine my disappointment when I woke up and couldn't show them.

I'd personally disagree with the first person cutscenes xD If you remember correctly, the characters' position jump around often and that mixed up with the camera flowing around would make you puke

Thing about VR is it is missing the game to really pull in masses, I always felt Halo has the potential to push VR forward much like it did for the Xbox.
I mean there's Half-Life: Alyx, Bonelabs/Boneworks and a few other big games I can't remember the names of atm, but yeah there really aren't a ton of really big name VR games to pull a ton of people in. I love VR, it really is amazing feeling like you're actually in the game yourself, but besides those games the biggest reason for me to get into VR is still mods for games like Half-Life 1/2, Doom 3, Quake 4, Prey 2006, Resident Evil 4, Garry's Mod, Portal 1/2, and now Halo CE, among many others. There's so many games that work insanely well in VR and if you don't mind using a controller or mouse/keyboard then you can technically run just about any game in VR.
Super cool! HUD should be fixed IMO since it would be fixed in the Chiefs helmet. This is so cool though it has me considering picking up a VR headset just to try it.
I'm pretty sure the last update to Halo CE for PC from bungie changed the activation code so it would accept any CD key and you can play online with duplicates now. At least I remember reading that somewhere, that's the same update that changed the servers from Gamespy to something else and added 1080p support to the game.
I like the mod but have some issues with it. 1. Weapon manipulation: you dont get to actually change mags and operate slides, charging handles and pumps. Its just a button press for reloads. 2. Grenades: it throws grenades for you with a button press. You dont get to throw them yourselves. 3. Weapon switching is done with just pressing the grip button no back or hip holsters. 4. Wish the scopeing worked differently, i want it to feel more like a eye piece and not so floaty. 5. The hud is also floaty and is off in the distance from you id prefer it feel like it is attached to your helmet. 6. The third person vehicle's. Other than that the mod is perfect and i have no issues.
I really want to see a more polished VR compatibility for MCC. I always wondered how the HUD aiming reticle looks when you hold the weapons in a different way (ie holding it any way other than how the 1st person model holds it). Is it like having a massive red dot/holographic sight, where the reticle moves based on your POV as well? In the lore (or irl if these weapons *were* real) it would have to be as good as aiming with a holographic/dot sight since it's the main form of aiming, especially for SPARTANs and ODSTs since they have helmets and can't get a proper cheek-weld, which is necessary for aiming accurately with a rifle.

Is the mod exclusive to classic Halo PC or is it a Halo Custom Edition mod. cause if it's Custom Edition, i could see someone fixing the cutscenes and the vehicles camera view to fit better in VR
I'm sorry, but people usually write scripts or at the very least plan what they're going to say and talk about in advance for a reason. A very very good reason, and this video shows the result of when doing this is neglected.. 5 minutes in and you've been repeating the same things over and over and doing nothing but going in circles and add nothing of value. Heck in those 5 minutes you say exactly one thing about how the game feels to play in vr (aka the reason why everyone clicked on the video in the first place): falling off a cliff is pretty weird especially if you're afraid of heights.

No, it has to be PC (Combat Evolved). Custom Edition shows up as a different file, and it won't accept it
