Yes to some degree but he took Barnabas away from the dark vampire to endless avenues of emotions for the viewers the fans and a new generation of fans .

Mind boggling the low class slasher crap one to many children have been exposed to. Barnabus diddnt haunt a child or give nightmares or scarred for life by some very determined seemingly to destroy innocence special effects.
