    Hello ASL Heroes!!!
Hey, I could really use your help.
If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you.
A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com.
Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!”

    Thanks!

p.s. Want to have your very own USB drive with four semesters worth of ASL instruction (that’s the equivalent of two years of colleges classes) for just $79.95? See "SuperUSB" in the ASLUniversity bookstore at:

Take care and love to you all.

Thank you Dr. Bill, for all that you do. As someone who struggles reading finger spelling, would you say that a best practice is to sound out the word as it is being spelled or spell it out first in your head as it’s being spelled then sound it out? Hope that question makes sense. Thank u

Some of the spellings is not correlating with the alphabet I know. Am sure I'm getting something wrong 😢

Consider watching this video regarding coarticulation:
      ua-cam.com/video/SATsyIl_C_Q/v-deo.html
Then watch this video to see how coarticulation impacts the letter "E":
      ua-cam.com/video/OtKvmEYb97Y/v-deo.html
Next try re-watching the Fingerspelling (advanced receptive practice) video -- keeping in mind that you may see coarticulation effects being applied fingerspelling to make it more realistic to what you will see on the hands of fluent spellers.
I've got hundreds (thousands actually when you include the @aslu channel) of videos. I don't have the content of every video memorized and can't state from memory for sure if I've used a lot of coarticulation blending or morphs in this particular video.
However you might wish to view the video on a desktop computer using a keyboard and then press the space bar (to pause) and use your comma and period keys to advance through some of the spelling frame by frame to analyze what is going on.
Then if you have questions try applying to join the LIfeprint.ASLU FB group -- the people there are quite helpful at providing feedback.

    Not so fast plz

    • @sign-language

Hello. This particular video is "advanced receptive practice." If I do it "not so fast" -- then it becomes beginner or mid-level receptive practice and becomes boring for those who are advanced.
An approach is to watch the video on a full-size browser (like on a desktop computer or a laptop) and then use the configuration settings to slow the speed of the video down to as little as 25%.
Another idea is to check out the Fingerspelling playlist at ua-cam.com/video/va1aAXpVr2w/v-deo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB and see if any of those videos might better meet your needs.

It feels fast to me also but I am going to watch it over and over I think this will help us to advance faster.❤
