That guitar riff on The Metal is one of the best riffs ever in my opinion
I met him and talked to him. I'm a huge Dream theater fan but this guy is on another level in his head when it comes to music even from Dream Theater. His thinking and talent is unmatched. He is the best in the world all around and can play anything in every way as displayed here. He hears tones and patterns as you and i can speak. The best decision DT ever made was to make him a DT member.

Oh man, that was back in their Mr show days. Those would have been old demo versions of the album that would be released in 2001.

@lilkujo he means that around 2:39 he plays something very similar to what the main riff is
The guitar was cut out of the listen-through but the bass wasn't, so he was able to get a feel for the rhythm key. It's not a very complex riff!

Jordan is listening to the key of a random Song Pianote assigns to him, and his playing the same licks i hear him playing since 40 years now over the key of the song. It would be more interesting removing the keys of the assigned songs and let Jordan (rerecord) the song without knowing the original.

The fact that Jordan goes 'I figured there's a guitar riff in there that probably sounds something like-' and then HUMS THE ACTUAL RIFF... The man knows his music theory. I legit thought this was staged until he missed a couple of the cues while playing along.
And then he says 'I could play a lot less on this, but I was having too much fun.' I think if JB heard those words, he'd be very proud.
