I've been low key stalking Angel's tutorials for a while, but never got around to apply his advice. I've always been drawing, but I haven't actually developed in YEARS (especially speed) because I'm self taught and haven't bothered actually learning anything new. Now I want to develop, so I tried this out, and I am shook how f-ing fast this method is. I am CRYING from happiness. I've churned out three drawings in the same timespan I'd normally spent struggling with ONE proportionate face, haha. It's kind of sad.... but amazing. Thanks for verbally abusing me into stepping up my game. :D

yesss asaro head is literally the most important part of learning portrait painting imo. Don't worry about boring people on YT. You could make 10 different videos drawing asaro head planes & we would watch them all bc it's always great to review. I start every day drawing asaro heads tbh. I put it under different lights and at different angles

Actually this is one of the most helpful things I've learned from the the whole freaking internet drawing the portraits! You kno there are always some old dudes with white hair in long beard talking about all hard stuff to undertand, and in the middle of the vid you screw urself for even giving the guy 1 more view 😅 but you just jumped on easy easy sentences and gave the best advices and the vid is small and soon to be done! Never boring! & pls give some advices for getting better known🤦🏻♀️😅 long cm u gonna hate

Thanks as always for another informative video! Planes of the head have always been pretty intimidating, but you breaking it down like this makes it much easier to understand; I've seen my work already start to improve from this series, as I was studying this as it is and have been pushed further even more.
You really are doing a lot though, man--remember to take breaks and get some rest when you need to so you don't burn yourself out!

What's sad is that my Highschool art teacher had us draw our classmates without looking at our papers.
Four fucking years later here I am only now realizing how wrong it was and why my art looked like shit.
I don’t think that is a totally invalid exercise. As beginners we tend to get caught up in details and looking at the paper, that exercise forces you to LOOK the entire time, which drawing should be like 80% looking and 20% drawing.
I think the problem with a lot of art instruction is they don’t tell you WHY you’re doing the exercise, nor do they ever describe a set path for you

okay this is not only useful for portraits but it's critical for doing any 3D works as well fuck I cannot believe I didn't learn about this before I was doing 3D modelling. To be honest it would have helped a lot with the face and body 3D topology of the characters cause all the planes look almost exactly like the asaro head.

Overall great lesson. I’ve been struggling with figuring out planes or even painting certain parts of the face like the nose correctly because all I did was focus on the 2D shapes without actually considering them as 3D but thanks to this vid I now know what to do. I guess I just have to put in more work.
