How much Gold can I find by Gridding a Nugget Patch?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 лип 2024
- It is very easy to miss gold nuggets while metal detecting. A coil on a detector only covers a little area surrounded by a lot of more good looking ground. Is it worthwhile to invest more time and energy on a nugget patch, detect low and slow and even overlap the coil sweeps? Let’s find out by gridding this patch. Metal detector used in this video: Minelab GPX 6000.

Back to the Sunday coffees with my favourite prospector - Good morning Krissy!
...GOOD LUCK, STAY SAFE AND ENJOY...
Not sure how gold is distributed in that specific area, but I would take it one more step either way. After determining a general grid, or search pattern in your mind for any area, I would then plot the exact spots each nugget was found on some paper ( and may be shade areas gold was not found on the paper). This based on the search patterns/lines you have worked. I would then look to see if a pattern of placement develops. Could be you establish a pattern how these nuggets were deposited. From that you could stay on the most likely line of gold dispersion. Even with that it could look like a random disbursement depending on perspective. From a micro view ( standing on ground) it could still seem random, but from a macro view ( from above a 100 feet or whatever in your imagination of course) there could still be a pattern. Chasing the lines have historically always led to bigger and more abundant gold if not the source.
Nice work... Again 🤓
Take care and I look forward to seeing your next video 👍🤓✌️
You're a brave woman, the Ozzie outback is a harsh and challenging environment. Keep the adventure going.
Great day out fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out!!!
Krissy you might recall that I kind of hounded you for a couple of years about your zigzag willy-nilly searching Style, so I'm glad to see you finally realized that without gridding you've been leaving gold behind. Good for you. A way that I grid when I'm in a completely flat area without many landmarks, such a park is I use four soccer style orange cones. Say your swing path is usually about 5 ft wide . In that case you would place two cones 7 and 1/2 ft apart and then whatever distance away you want to search to you place two more cones seven and a half feet apart. Then you walk from one cone to its mate at the other end and then move that cone 7 and 1/2 ft to the other side of your second cone, then walk the second cone back to the other end to the second cone and move the first cone 7 and 1/2 ft Beyond the other one. You just continue in this way until you're pooped haha. That way you don't miss even one square inch if you are semi overlapping your Strokes. Good luck girl!
So happy to see you back, miss your video’s while you went home. Enjoy the wonderful November sun.

Interesting video Krissy, thanks! It must be heating up quite a bit over in WA now, keep your hat on!
Great to be able to follow your detecting in the outback, the grid method works. Like the way you say " Gold "when found
Great to see you again doing what you like those little ones add up be safe and take care of yourself

Fantastic prospecting video krissy 😃👌🙌🥰
Ah, if only I could find nuggets on flat level ground, another great video and still exciting to watch, I got my backhoe going finally and made a track across a creek then up the hill only to find a dozer had been there twenty odd years before, detected in a circle around my car about fifty metres out in three different areas on the hill and no luck, just waiting for Telstra to arrive to improve reception somehow, have a great day and keep up the good work.Leon
G'day Krissy! Ive done my share of gold detecting in the triangle and did ok, it didnt make me rich, but there was great value in the experience, but it was mostly to bushy for gridding, now I mostly do coin and relic hunting, again the value is in the hunt, and the patches of finds i come across is where i do my gridding, it is nowhere near as much fun as random wandering but a patch is something you dont leave to chance, and it plays on your mind if you dont grid it. and in your case it definitely paid off. well done Krissy, Like Steve Wayne below, i use a similar method with string lines, with out them i tend to wander off in the wrong direction and miss areas, leaving gaps in my hunts. Good to see you back out there Krissy, Cheers!
Thanks Krissy. Another successfull hunt. keep it up
Great work, I use pink brickies line for gridding. I do two runs at 50trs 4 feet apart and work each side then move the over and repeat. Works well
Great video. It seems that the bushes scare other detectors. I noticed in your older videos lots of gold under plants. Good luck and good hunting.♥️👍
I thought some time ago that you should try a little gridding in areas with lots of small nuggets. But you seem to have more fun just wandering so I did not comment on it. another lovely video thank you Krissy .
Another great episode Tku Krissy …and another few sub grammers for the bottle 👏👏👏
Not a bad day for the little guys. Looking forward to see what you get tomorrow
I enjoyed your video, great job finding all the nuggets.
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us ! They do you a favor by leaving chain marks as you know to avoid the spot and start your search a few meters outside the area already search. I frequently just drag one boot every other step. Knowing an area has been detected helps you hunt the better untouched ground.
I love finding gold in peoples chain marks🤠
There's a saying "little fish are sweet" it was definitely worth you gridding that patch Krissy!
I love ur videos mam❤️ always downloading ur vids and watch it when i got home.. we have no enternet connection here from the mountains😇 ,, keep safe always🙏
Dang you’re making me look bad again 😆
Good job on sticking to the grid.. it’s so hard for me to do that..
Have you ever considered auctioning off your gold buttons you make in the potatoes or the specimens you find? I think people would love seeing the gold you find and melted for sale. Especially if you put a couple cool stamps on the buttons.
PS. THANK YOU FOR THE HARD WORK. YOU DO A GREAT JOB.
What a Great Idea but would there be TAXes getting it into USA ect ?? ALOHA😁
Great to see you on the gold.
Great bunch of semis.
Interesting to know that cooler ground is better for signals. I've heard wet is better also.🇨🇦
I love your new Logo. :)))
I enjoy watching your videos
NICE VIDEO! IT DOES ADD UP WHER YOU END UP A DAY OF SMALL ONES! WISH I WERE THERE!
Thanks for a great video
Krissy another great video and information for others detecting. ❤️
Watching from British Columbia Canada
@@dennisjamieson3328 ... Central BC here. :>)
Once again love to see those videos on the shiny your out there swinging making the videos it's a lot of work to make those videos but you do it to entertain us and we here in America we love you for it you had a video where you found a white quartz underneath the soil and it was making a lot of noise I wonder what happened to that but as always another good video can't wait to see the next one you be safe out there stay cool🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🥵😨😰😁🤩🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😛😍🤪😝🐶🤠😎🤓😂
Lucky new hat again.Keep it up THANKS 😊
Very entertaining show. Thanks again.
21:51 you had a tiny gold appraiser examine your collection. So cute.
Cool very Cool, having fun is the Freedom of doing what ever we want!
Great work Krissy. Your the Queen of sub grammer's... 🤠👍
That GPS recordings reminds me of Bering Sea 🌊 Gold and Shawn Pomrenke THE ONE AND ONLY “MR GOLD”! Land and Sea is where fortunes ARE made! And cataloguing is the only way to fly! Good times in the OUTBACK BABY!
I use a software called onx to track where I've been and Mark locations I found something. Something I thought about doing is using what was called spider wire used on arrows to track game that's been shot. It does dissolve so no Trace you were there. As always enjoy your videos even though I'm not out looking for gold yet.
Hi Krissi, great show again.
Good score does nuggets.
PS my wife said you should grow your hair long and make German plaits that would look good on you.
I said than that if you shake your head sideways you can wack the flies away.
At least you can keep detecting.
Thumbs up for great video and sound recording.
Schone grusse, under toi toi toi.
those are some good finds
well done!
Hi Mate,
Thanks again for the vid
this really gets myself excited
to try and get back out there
before the body says no.
Thanks for keeping me excited
about WA gold.
2DFERS Dennis and Donna
My pleasure, makes me happy when people get inspired. And now: you two better start planning your next trip ⛏
Wish I could find some gold! Except for the flies, it looks like fun! Thanks for another excellent video Krissy
Yes, except for the flies going in and out of her nose and mouth, I love her episodes.
Good on you thanks for sharing , have you considered getting a Camel pack ? I always thought em a bit silly but ,turns out they are a very good bit of bush kit , sip n away is easy n you tend to drink more regular , try one for a few days be surprised if you don't like em , thanks again n good luck
I don't detect gold but always use a grid pattern when detecting as you find much more. It is time consuming but the returns are greater.
Hello Krissy - just as a backup to your GPS you might want to use brightly colored wooden golf tees at each of your digs points as a quick visual reference. FYI
Really enjoyed this video my family is learning so much from you . Thankyou for talking about your settings it’s a great help. I see there is a free upgrade to the 6000 at Minelab have you done that ? Thanks
Thanks for letting me know, I think my model is one of the newer ones and updated already 👍🏻
Yet another great vid Krissy!! When are your hoodies coming out? I’m keen to get one.
Hi Kim, I recently finalised the online shop, it's up and running. I'll announce it in the next video.

wow sorry about your dog im new to your channel i think its very good thanks xx
AWESOME day!!!! Now just got to find where the bigger ones are hiding... LOL... Of course we all wish for the bigger nuggets... They're out there just that there's more small ones...
Good Luck Chrissy finding Gold UK ENGLAND ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️👍
Good job sister.
Krissy well done back on the gold enjoying the 6000 more than your 7000 ?
Thanks. ✌🏻👊
Hi Krissy, Wanted to say thank you for all the valuable videos I've watched. Also, im wondering about a particular comment you made and am not sure how you concluded that the area you gridded only contains shallow small nuggets. Is it because out of the eight pieces you found they were all sub grammers? Wouldn't it be worthwhile taking a larger coil and more powerful mine lab back to just the area or line you found all your nuggets at and re-gridding that feature too?
That would definitely worthwhile, just because I heard that the gold in that particular spot is small doesn't mean that bigger pieces might be hidden there somewhere ⛏
Here in Western Washington USA we call them pickers.... Nice pickers!
A builder's chalk line might work for marking grids.
Really fascinating to watch your strategy and gridding technique. Approximately what monetary value can be attributed to say 1.5 gram please? Also what is the heaviest you’ve ever found? Do you have to smelt it down before getting it assayed? I’m morphing through all your videos as housebound today so quite exciting way to pass the time S your enthusiasm is infectious
Gold is, say, $2050 an ounce. There are 31.1 grams to the ounce. Additionally, gold in nature is never pure or 24 karat. Say Krissys gold is 90%. Therefore, $2050 ÷ 31.1 x 0.90 = $59 per gram gold value.
That was fun,... Except for the flies
I hope you have some luck today and i, love seeing you fine gold
Krissy başarılar vede çok altıncı günler dilerim.
Krissy, what’s the problem with leaving chaining marks that will fade away completely in just a few years? A few years is just a blip in the context of time, the planet and mankind, but a blip is all we have to live and thrive.
You clearly didn't watch the bit where she clearly explained that, among other reasons, it was to not direct other prospectors to a hot spot.
@@tomkalleske3475 I heard all her reasons for not doing so. The “leave no lasting mark” reason is the only one I have a problem with. Nothing we do is really that lasting. Without our contribution the Nazca lines will be eradicated in one or two thousand years. In another 10,000 years the great pyramid will probably be just a little bump in the Egyptian desert. The chaining marks don’t really hurt anything in Nature. Nature is in it for the long game. We are just a speck in the timeline.
@@tomkalleske3475 yes but she is only trying to find the close to surface gold and if she used her 7000 it would find any deeper gold if she doesn't think there is deep gold go chaining
Just a suggestion, try swing that detector alot slower while trying to keep the same speed and motion if that makes sense darlin ... Haha, Its good to see you gridding mate 😂
I'm sure I'll see you get a big one soon enough. You may find using little flags useful to mate. You can get thin skewer ones made from fibreglass. These are often used in surveying. Wont interfere with your detector and you could put one out every 10 metres or so ... Wish you all the best Mizz Krissy 😉👍
Heyyyy, good to hear from you!
This would be the first gridding advice ever from you I think 🤔
Can’t wait to catch up. When are you coming over?
love u and i love your hat to nice find you rock 👌👌👌
that is a great day love it
Krissy have you noticed gold prices have bounced back last few days to $ 1771 US.. I hope it keeps going up like a rocket 🚀..Fun video thumbs up
