This song is the exact definition of the relationship I had with my first love... And I remember it all too well! Feeling like the crazy one. Realizing later, as I grew up that I never was!
It's a horrible feeling. Been in that kind of relationship where I was the "crazy one", just because I saw the red flags (and possible felonies, ahem). It's outraging once you are out and over it
@@narbuka yeah the beginning was scripted but you can kinda barely tell that when she goes back to washing the dishes the second time is where it kinda starts being improv, not that it was obvious or bad it was really good but it's just a hunch
Sadie Sink is in Stranger Things, that’s probably where you recognize her from. It really helps illustrate their age difference because we think of the Stranger Things cast as little kids and so seeing her with an older guy kinda makes you uncomfortable lol
When I saw Sadie in Fear Street (netflix) I actually googled her age bc she seemed to have grown up so much since the last time I had seen her (Netflix seems to be quite comfortable in withholding stranger things from us, last season was summer 2019) & was shocked to realize she’s 19 now!
god I feel old I’ve never seen anyone call Dylan O’Brien an older man 💀 I remember everyone being obsessed with him on teen wolf when i was in high school. he was maybe 20 if that
Remember Taylor took poetry in school. I think that's part of why she has such a visual mind. Love and respect her professionally as well as a genius with her craft.
Three months in a relationship is just a blink in time. In reflection she realized what had occurred to her...the humiliation... the betrayal of trust - your entire being ...body & soul. Thought about it...wrote about it...sang about it ... Then served it to "him" on a silver platter in front of the whole world to see. Strength = Endurance!
Taylor is someone who loves so deeply, so passionately...and I find that so beautiful :) I think that's also why like you said her music is so honest and relatable, because of the depth she gives her writing and her music.
Dylan and Sadie are both literally top-tier actors, genuinely as talented as they come and it really shines thrpugh this whole video but ESPECIALLY the kitchen scene with the dialogue. You don't see this sort of acting in music videos often because actors of their caliber just don't typically act in music videos because they think its beneath them (and theres some truth to that). But the fact Taylor was able to get them just goes to show what a cultural force she is
One of my favorite pieces of imagery that nobody has ever commented on before is the fact that, for the years later part of the video, Taylor portrayed herself at her age now instead of having Sadie do it with makeup effects...but she had Dylan portray it the same as he looked before. Its really representative of how much she grew up after the relationship because she was only 20 years old...but he didnt because he was already a grown man when they dated. Shes aged so much physically (but also mentally of course) in the last decade like everyone in their 20s...but jake hasnt aged that much physically just like most people dont really age that much in their 30s.
Also along the lines of something I rarely see commented on… In the later on part, where Jake looks into the book store window, we never see his face for a reason. It was a different actor. What’s his name, you ask? JAKE LYON. Like… Jake Lying. I love it.
I used to have a friend who dated a girl under similar circumstances. He was 2 years out of grad school (27) and she was a college freshman (19) 😬. We had to sit him down after a while, and tell him he had no business dating her and he needed to let her start college (and life) without the albatross of a grown man hanging around her neck.
Dylan O'Brien was in Teen Wolf and the Maze Runner trilogy, one of my favorite actors. I was never really into Stranger things, but I am Sadie's age, so her being with Dylan O'Brien, who is like 11 years older than me gave me a lot of chills. Dylan is an amazing actor, I have always adored him.
You're such a good listener! Listening between the lines are hard because some people thinks explicitly that sometimes it takes so difficult to get into the core of the song.
I’ve been OBSESSED with this version since it came out. I still listen on repeat several times a week. I am 10+ years past *this* relationship for me but it still cuts to the bone. One of my favorite past times is watching people react to this song/video on YT (I have a very exciting life) and that scene with Sadie crying on the bed still brings me to tears every single time I watch it. I remember being there “all too well”. 💔😭
After watching this, I always feel she deserved a short film nomination for an Oscar and the actors needed a nod also. I predict we have not seen the last of her foray into film.
I am too old to be a "Swiftie", but I respect her intelligence and business savvy, and I believe she is a better singer/songwriter than her critics give her credit for being. (Suggestion: "Forever Winter.") RogerC
Forever Winter is such a beautiful piece. On the first round I heard it, but didn't actually listened to it...once I did, it has become a favorite. The desperation in her voice in certain lyrics is so raw...it hurst me, but I can listen to it on repeat.
I like the way you said that Cause it's like when you're going Through a break-up you have feelings but you don't know how to describe them and when you listen to her songs it's like she's been able to read your mind your emotions
I've seen so many videos disecting why All Too Well is one of her best songs and it wasn't until I recently went down that rabbit hole that I realised how small her vocal range is and why it adds that bigger impact at the "they you call me up again" verse - she doesn't hit that top of her range often. Also I'm general her finally releasing this must feel like some form of closure for her.
And the SWIFTIE of all SWIFTIES is back! Heres a few cool things for you to know… The car scene where he toss the car keys and freaks out on the phone, is based on something that really happened, there’s paparazzi photos from the moment! Also, if you notices, Sadie has golden light all over her for the most part of the film, even when they’re fighting, and Dylan has always blue light all over him, just like the dancing in the kitchen scene, when he breaks up with her, she turns blue, and only goes golden when she’s in front of a crown reading ALL TOO WELL the lyrics! Isn’t this genius? The dinner with his friends, her glass of wine is full, because she was underage for drinking alcool! And he didn’t even cared about that! He was always gaslighting her, and she keeps saying “I remember it all too well” because one thing gaslighters most doo is say “you’re not remembering things the way it happened” 🤡 Gosh,…. This woman. There’s so much stuff to notices, but these are my favorites ❤️ ALSO! Watch I Bet You Think About Me, there’s more of it! 🥲❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And did you see the nail polish on the African American in the brown jacket at the dinner table? 1 nail was yellow (golden) "Fearless"... 1 was red, "Red" and 1 was light blue... "1989"?
“Check the pulse and come back swearing it’s the same” that is too real. Something just about everyone I’m sure can probably relate to. How on earth did she write that and then cut it out.
She’s definitely incredible. Every bit of this film was insane. Both Sadie and Dylan as well. It’s just crazy how every bit of Taylor’s songwriting gives me chills. She’s just tremendously talented. Was really looking forward to your reaction to this. Hope that things are going well for you. Sending you much positive energy throughout. 🙏🏼
So the fight scene was improv! Amazing job! It was to depict the gaslighting and emotional manipulation Jake did to her throughout the relationship. The scarf is also strongly thought to be a metaphor for her virginity. He can’t give that back. He took her “innocence”. Also his current girlfriend is 24 I believe? Maybe younger? And he is in his 40s. That’s the punchline to the joke! If age was the reason he gave her for breaking up with her then he lied cause he hasn’t dated anyone over 25 since her.
I really don’t think we should be discussing Taylor’s virginity. We can talk about the themes and metaphors within the context of the song without directing applying it to Taylor who is a real life person and is very much deserving of privacy. I think there’s a difference between analyzing the song as a story, as a piece of writing and picking it apart to create some narrative about real life events that are frankly none of our business. If we’re going to be doing that, we’re just as bad as trashy tabloids.
The scarf is not a metaphor, and we have photo proof for the scarf, only difference the original scarf wasn't red. it was like a navy blue or black with white stripes. Tons of photos with Taylor in it and then after the breakup pics of him still with it wearing it.
It is so hard to find the person that will not change no matter what. Always feeling the love, care and support of your partner is such a blessing. I have been in a situation where I have avoided such small signs, so I do not look needy or look like I am overreacting. Than one day I ended up in hospital and his attitude hurt me more than my wounds.
This is my favorite reaction to this short film, and I've watched a lot! Your insight and openness is refreshing. The chemistry between Dylan and Sadie was tremendous and really set the song off! She is an amazing storyteller. Hits you in your feels, all the time.

I’ve just watched your video with comments about “All too well, Taylor’s version” and it was amazing how sensitive you were. You got a fan! And I wasn’t Taylor’s fan: until now!
It’s amazing. So the kitchen scene. Yes a 10 ur age difference but she didnt need him to pay attention to her. At that age and with 30 yr olds, she couldnt hold her own snd needed him to bring her into the conversation to make her feel comfortable with these strangers. He didn’t do that, instead ignored her and tossed her hand aside. She felt left out and uncomfortable as a 20 yr old would probably feel in that situation. Then he called her crazy, insane, weird, selfish. He gaslighted her. The age difference was cringe and let to a power imbalance in the relationship. The kitchen scene in particular where he invalidated the way she was feeling.

someone said that the scene where they are danicing in the kitchen and Taylor mentions the refrigerator light, it shows that the blue light of the fridge is a reference of how cold he was and the sunlight thorugh the window, shows the warmth of her.
She's that good because she writes and sings from the heart! She's also a Sagittarius...A Fire Sign & Fellow Jupiter Girl...Passionate about their causes and life.

Sadie Sink is from Stranger Things Dylan O'brien was in Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner...etc Fun Fact: The age gap between Dylan and Sadie was intentional (it mirrors the age gap between Jake and Taylor)
I feel like it also symbolised the generational gap in a way too. I feel like teen wolf was a millennial show and stranger things more genz so we associate these actors with different eras in a sense. It really helps see the age gap.
Yeah, I don’t think the problem was that she wasn’t mature but that the guy was gaslighting her, deflecting, love bombing, and in general was quite manipulative. Those were the most insincere sorrys I’ve ever heard. Yes she was young which meant she couldn’t recognize the behavior pattern and didn’t have the tools to handle the situation. But it’s said in the song he continues to date young women “I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age,” which indicates he is picking these women knowing they’ll be young and naive so they won’t be able to handle his tactics. We can’t blame the young for being emotional abused, blame the abuser.
I like this short film, but I like the original song better because she sings it with so much more emotion, as the hurt from this relationship was still fresh at that time. Still, Taylor is fabulous no matter what! You really need to see her ALL TOO WELL live performance on piano, at the 2014 GRAMMY AWARDS (if you haven't already). It's amazing!!!

someone said that the scene where they are danicing in the kitchen and Taylor mentions the refrigerator light, it shows that the blue light of the fridge is a reference of how cold he was and the sunlight thorugh the window, shows the warmth of her.
She captures emotions so well through her craft uwu
React all to well live in snl was epic for sure one of her best performance
i love every reaction made to this song / video the kitchen scene always makes you go speechless, it’s too good
First time listener and new subscriber. This was great, man!
She's that good because she writes and sings from the heart!
She's also a Sagittarius...A Fire Sign & Fellow Jupiter Girl...Passionate about their causes and life.
Sadie sink is an Aries Taylor is a sag and Dylan is a Leo all the fire signs r there 😂
Love this song! I thought I was to cool for pop music but this young women is the real deal✅ she’s so talented and smart and I love her music. This is the best song and do yourself a favor and watch the movie. We can all relate to this song! Thanks Taylor love you!🙏🏻
Love yourrr guitar lesson very much❤
Thanks!
Dylan and Sadie killed it you could feel the song even more and great directing by Taylor

Derrik liked! Well? YOU HEARD HIMMM
Oh my! You reacted to it!!!
welcome backkk we miss you!!!
You should definitely react to live version of this! "All too well" from SNL is insane!! She performed there 2 months ago with guitar and it's so emotional!!
Derrick! Thank you for doing such justice to the song, the lyrics, the acting, and the direction by Taylor in all she encompasses. You’ve absolutely gained a new subscriber, and I’m thrilled to see what’s next! Love your vibe, and honesty in the breakdown of each piece ~ headed over to check out your Patreon!
Very honest reaction from you too. Subscribed your channel and looking for more.. keep it up 👍🏽
Thank you!
Sadie Sink is from Stranger Things
Dylan O'brien was in Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner...etc
Fun Fact: The age gap between Dylan and Sadie was intentional (it mirrors the age gap between Jake and Taylor)
Wow makes sense now, when I saw them kissing I was like wtf Lol thought she was like 16 not 19
I feel like it also symbolised the generational gap in a way too. I feel like teen wolf was a millennial show and stranger things more genz so we associate these actors with different eras in a sense. It really helps see the age gap.
love you're videos and im happy you're back
Yup best songwriter in the world!!!that's taylor!!!!!!

Been waiting for your reaction since this was released last week! Missed your Taylor reaction vids, bud!
welcome back!
Sadie Sink plays Max Mayfield in "Stranger Things" and Dylan O'Brien played Stiles Stilinsk in "Teen Wolf", Derrik.
Thankyou for this reaction
Hey I missed you dude. Glad you're back. Anywho, yes, Taylor did direct her video of The Man. She is getting better at this. Thanks.
SO glad you’re back 🥰
You were so invested during that fight scene. lol
I've missed your reactions!
so glad you came back..
Please react to "I bet you think about me" music video too🌼
I really think you’ll enjoy Niall Horan. Songs like Dear Patience, Flicker, This Town. He has so many!
Hey King it's good have you back.
Haunting is a good descriptive word. Maybe you could word mash that and heavenly together for me.
I like the way you talk~ so soft and like you're FaceTiming a friend☺️
I love your reaction 💗
I like this short film, but I like the original song better because she sings it with so much more emotion, as the hurt from this relationship was still fresh at that time. Still, Taylor is fabulous no matter what! You really need to see her ALL TOO WELL live performance on piano, at the 2014 GRAMMY AWARDS (if you haven't already). It's amazing!!!
