If I could only own five handguns in .45 ACP, these would be it. There are a lot of good options out there that were not included in this list. Out of all of them, the 1911 is my favorite followed closely by the Glock 21. If you have any suggestions or comments please leave them below. Thanks for watching.

Iraqveteran8888 have you ever done a video on your time in service ?
ur a glock boy
How long have you been hiding your website lol
Do a video shirtless
mega star 45acp
a must have
a must shoot
a must own...
Do a damn video on it sir....
"A slow moving ugly hunk of lead that'll really just put big holes in things" I love it. Resonates with accuracy.
"No gun collection is complete without a 1911"
I would rather say "No gun collection is complete, period"
Awesome videos as always!! I own 3-5 of said .45cp guns you reviewed.. What's your thought on a 40s&w review sometime soon?.. maybe just splitting hairs 8888, ..but I'm also a 10mm gun nerd as well.. Can't help it :) I hand load 40 s&w +P with cut down modified 10mm cases (load specs from Hornady)
Shiz!! Maybe we are never done :)
Real men don't have gun collections IMO... They have arsenals
I concur no gun collection is ever complete
He said no .45 handgun collection not gun collection
The perfect number of guns to own is... just one more
That's a first. A UA-cam gun review without mentioning "I have large hands"
Lol
I have large hands. Glock 21 gen 3 feels great man.
Lololol
You know what they say about large hands? Large pistols.
😂😂 everyone says it, few ACTUALLY understand the struggle. I’ll never trust a UA-cam reviewer with “big hands” because I’ll grip the gun they said was “nice and big” for their “big” hands, and the damn thing feels like a .380.
Good comments. I was issued a 1911 in my career. I was permitted
to carry a Glock 21. After my retirement I was required to
carry a M&P. The 1911 is capable
of the best trigger jobs. All 3 firearms, mentioned above
are very reliable. But my heart goes to the 1911!👍🇺🇸😊
The 1911 and the 45 are like butter and toast!
I would have said Coffee and Doughnuts. ps . the . 38 super is also a true 1911 chambering
Meh, I would compare it to Guns and Ammo for now.
Lol
Although I agree, I do love my Coonan 357, but I guess that's not really a 1911.
Don’t forget the JAM!
A 1911 that's not in .45 is like Corn flakes without milk.
I was raised shooting my dad's West German P220. It's hands-down the best single-stack .45 pistol in existence.
I really like my Springfield XDM .45 ACP, double stack magazine, and super easy and fun to shoot.
Heck yeah! I have a xds 45 mod 2 loooove it
I have the Springfield Armory 1911 A1 .45 Mil spec!!! Love it
so accurate got my CHL with it
I have the .40 & GREAT package. Ergonomics, accuracy, reliability, less recoil than Glock 23 I had before the XD.
I realize they can be a little scarce but the 45 everyone should own is a SigP220. I have one from the early 2000s before the 320 got Sigs absolute attention. By far the most accurate 45 out of the box ever. A true piece of machinery.
One of the best handguns ever made.
I agree regarding the accuracy, not only from comparison articles I read from magazines in the 90s, but my best friend had one. It was an absolute beast to shoot with the 230gr fmj we had. The Hogue grips he bought later helped a little, but I was done after half a box. I was around 190lbs back then. I later shot both a Bersa metal frame .45 & a Glock 21, both had much less recoil than the P220. The Rangemaster at the time asked for 5 rounds & showed us what that P220 could do. This was when .40s first came out & he shot tight groups with my shiny new Taurus PT100 too.
Was expecting to see a USP45. One of the most legendary and reliable .45s ever made. If you do some research on the testing it was involved in it would make a glock look unreliable.
Dude you are absolutely right! I own the USP in 9mm and .45, as well as the 45 C, and the Glock ain’t even in the same league……in my humble opinion! I do own the Glock too, and it’s great, but an Hk it is not!
I agree! I was surprised that the Heckler and Koch's U.S.P. .45 auto either the Tactical model or the Expert model was not on the list.
Same here! Although I only have the USP40 and a PSK2000SK (9mm). H&K and Sig are at the top of my list for manufactures. Of course it may just be I have a thing for the Germans as I also drive a couple of Audi Avants (aka wagon, estate, etc).
For two days I've been trying to make mine malfunction. I never thought I could trust another gun besides My Makarov.
I won’t be shy about it: it was a joke of a list without H&K USP 45. And the HK45, for that matter.
I love my CZ97B, what a nice fit and finish and a real tack driver!
All this talk of "Double Stack" gives me the urge to go to In-N-Out for a burger!
Whataburger
Griffis
You like waiting in line for 30 minutes for a burger that tastes like cardboard?
@@jonathanrichwine1996 Super size mine!!!
LOL!!
Shocked the P220 and USP 45 weren't on there.
Drewism why does everyone say the USP.45 is so great? I’ve shot a buddies and I just don’t see that big a deal about it
Amen
Amen to the USP and p220
The p220 is smooth, shoots nicely... It's like butter
@@nikik5567 besides the mag release tab easy way to drop your magazine
Great review, I have 3 of 5 of those and agree with your selections.
1: Glock 21
2: CZ97B
3: Sig P220
4: HK45
5: Girasan 1911
Agree, how can he forget a HK
That glock 21 shoots so smooth for a .45 acp
What about Glock30??
Walther PPQ?
M&P's and Shields are amazing handguns. Just a tip, if you plan on ever upgrading it just buy the performance center model from the beginning. Night and Day difference in triggers, great sites, with less recoil from factory.
Just got a .45 Ruger American model and I'm really digging it. Small, rugged, easy to take down and clean, affordable and sweet shooter. Definitely recommended.
H&K USP .45
I don't own one but I've shot them and they are amazing
The HK USP Tactical was the best pistol I've ever owned.
@@Curveball I have to agree, although I do not own the tactical model. I clicked on this video and was actually shocked that the H&K USP 45 was not on this list, and even more shocked that it's little sister the H&K 45 was also void from the list.
@@adamchewy2284 Yeah, some people dislike HK because they say it's a 'snob brand' so they ignore it out of spite. I'm not a snob. I like a lot of Manufacturers. But the USP Tactical was the best so far. I've owned a Glock 23, M&P Spec-Ops, Beretta 92SF Stainless, and a standard USP that I sold to my brother so I could get the USP Tactical. A military friend talked me into it.
@@adamchewy2284 Same. When most people think .45 they think 1911 (for good reason), but I think of HK pistols because I grew up in the 90s.
Can't beat HK USP 45's. 1 full size black slide and the same with stainless. Same deal with the compact variant. Now foe the topper.....HK USP Elite, no shiny match for that one.
Sig 1911...5 in 45acp and a 10 mm Tacops. Throw in an FN FNX Tac and a Big Rock in 10mm and I got rhe 45's covered. Love them 45's!!
You should do an update to this video. There have been a lot of changes and new guns put out on the market since 2013.
I carry a Sig P220 SAO Legion. That’s my favorite .45 handgun.
Para USA has been producing high capacity .45 ACP 1911 pistols, with the full size P14.45 13+1 capacity pistol down to a compact P11.45.
Para expert ,and colt for me .
Hk USP 45 has a 12 round mag and is as reliable and durable as it gets... worth every penny imo
*cries in California
Amen
Ya sure you say Para let me go to my bank to get a 2nd mortgage on my house to buy it.
I am a 25 year Army vet, I have carried them in combat and have privately owned M1911s. Please stay to the Military standard. Why?, they takedown and clean like a soldier needs; simply, no problems. Some find the .45 Mil Std as hard to assemble or disassemble, just be aware it takes a few times to be proficient. It is easy to use, has a look that means business (deterrent factor), most battles in a home happen 15 feet or less, so you just point and pull. If you miss, fire again, fire again, fire again, the felon left two shots ago. Even if you don't hit the target the thug will not be back. If you hit the person, in the ear or pinky they will go down. They are designed by the US Army with a "knockdown" effect to fell drugged up Morowai Tribesman on the island of Mindanao over a hundred years ago. My wife speaks the Morowai dialect, she is a Filipina. Funny never realized i would marry the family of the tribe which caused the US Army so much trouble post 1898. The .45 acp mil std is a winner all the way around. Peace, hope you don't have to pull in self defense... if you do, it will serve you well. Why the US Army had this in inventory from 1917 til now.
street75 lafayettestreetcars Is talking to the mirror. Total projection. He sees his own failings everywhere he looks. Of course, he never thinks he is talking about himself, but he is. I'd put money down that everything is someone else's fault and none of it his. Probably lies all day long and blames everybody around him when his lies go south.
I have a daughter just like that so I know the type too. The other two turned out pretty well. It's a crap shoot so I guess two out of three is a decent average... The only good thing about my oldest daughter is that she drove the whole family together in order to defend ourselves against her when we could have all just slowly drifted apart. Now we're all tighter than ever and she's standing outside looking in. Screwed herself again. It's genetic though and written in stone. There ain't no cure except for God himself. I'm not holding my breath.
I've seen a M1911 before, Its really lightweight for a handgun and can be concealed easily if you're meeting in a dangerous place with a shady contact. Street75lafayettestreet cars needs to calm down. If he gets mad easily then he is not fit to handle a gun.
Indeed!!!
street75 lafayettestreetcars You're a disturbed piece of shit. No-one is going to bother reading your bullshit rant. You don't deserve the freedom that soldiers fight to give you. I feel sorry for your stupid, lonely, loser ass. Get some help. You're blocked and reported.
You do need help dude. Pathetic and delusional.
Springfield Armory Loaded Micro Compact .45ACP (1911 A1) my favorite hands down (no longer made...replaced by EMP but in .40 and 9mm only)...for full sized FNP-45 is mighty fine, especially with its tactical suppressor option!
Eric I love the videos you do by yourself much better!
very informative, thank you for posting
being that I live in California, I have a Springfield MC loaded operator and it is well-made, has a great trigger and very accurate.
I really like my Springfield XD45 Tactical, it's an accurate striker fire, and holds 13 + 1. Have no problem drilling consistent head shots at 50yrds. Never had a failure after 2000k rounds.
Gotta holler bullshit on the 2 million rounds
@@dilligafhellno2828. No doubt. 2k rounds & absolutely not one issue. bS
This guy does a good video easy to listen to.. Good job bro
Always learn good stuff from u Chanel... thanks
I'll stick with my HK USP45.
Never misses a beat.
AkTejas _ And I too shall join ya. Never had a failure of any kind with it.
I was surprised he didn't choose that, once I figured he didn't have that all I heard was "glock, glock, glock"
Haha I know. Not a single HK pistol. :(
+AkTejas _ If you are a yuppie or CIA operative, by all means, USP45 is indefensible. Otherwise, >$1K gun with $60+ per mag... no thank you. What does it do that my Glock 21 doesn't?
have better quality materials? The metal and finish used on the barrel is of greater quality. Both are good, one's a bimmer, the other a civic. Both are fantastic, yet I'd sooner have the BMW.
Just bought my first handgun. One I can call my own. Purchased a glock 21. Can’t wait to shoot it this week. Good to know you like it as well!
Usually I tend to be skeptical about people who say they know alot about guns, bc so many people don't. But I like this guy, seen a few of his videos already and he's actually very knowledgeable. Keep it up!
Love the 1911 treated myself to a gold cup trophy last year, sweet perfection!
Great that you had that revolver! Well presented my friend! Air Assault!!!!!
I'm surprised you didn't have the Sig P220 in that line-up...
Yes with any 1911
I've always been a fan of the 1911 but the Sig Sauer p320 45 is a darn nice gun too
Looking at the wall of liberty behind you reminds me of how hard it was to find modern sporting rifles for some time. It's full of shotguns during this. I remember jumping into a .17HMR during that time simply because you could NOT find 22lr anywhere without paying through the nose.
I'm surprised no mention of the Walther PPQ. One of my favorite 45's. What a trigger. They're only slightly more expensive than glocks, so the with the consideration of the fine trigger, I'd say it's about the same price.
i dont believe that the walther PPQ in .45 was out yet when this video was made
The video is 3 years old....
H&K 45 Tactical is my pick, and the Glock 21 SF if you're on a budget or want more capacity.
***** As a long term wrap up, I got a Glock 21 SF. The HK45 is on my list, but it's the Glock for now. I couldn't pass up a mint used piece I found.
Joe Gillilan No he don't, and neither do you! Bet neither of you have ever competed in ANY kind of combat pistol matches. Probably no experience in ANY type of pistol competition! I have around 40 years experience in ALL types of pistol competition, using both revolvers and semi-autos! In fact doubt either of you even belong to a gun club!
I'm in the middle of building a glock 21 45acp it's a beast 💪
I think in general the .45 is an excellent full size duty round. The 9mm is great for the civilian concealed market, using a 3 inch barrel (Taurus G2c) for example. Every caliber has its place I believe.
Just got the m&p full size 45 and i love it
The 1911 is always on top of the list. Every other gun is a son, step son or grandson of the 1911. The most idea would be a custom made 2011. Its on a 1911 platform, .45 acp, with 14 rounds. Other than that, I think the FN is next up.
While I see your point, I would say that the Glock is more like a distant cousin as it is striker fired. And not a cousin I would care to know ;) Also I would say the Colt Double Eagle is more like a "brother" to the Colt 1911, with a few subtle (or not so subtle) differences that make it a better gun than the 1911 (at least IMO).
No H&k?
No Sig Sauer?
No Springfield?
1911 not from Colt?
What an odd list......
+Geraldo Neto He's not really into the collectors set lol. the springfield and sig got me, but the colt is way over priced..
+Dennis Rogers - Actually the price of Brand new Colt 1911 pistols can be purchased for less than people are selling used Colt 1911 pistols for. Prices have come down on Colts.
i figure it's mostly about the type of guns that shoot .45. besides, only about a dozen dudes that watch this channel own usp .45s, and why would anyone want a pistol that goes off whenever?
willie don't care It only goes off "whenever " by people carrying it who don't know what the hell their doing, and shouldn't be handling it in the first place!!!
the sig 320 is what he was referring to, which would fire when dropped
Have one this is a great video!!! Very knowledgeable guy. This person knows his guns!!!!
yass-umm another great review, keep-em coming !
All gun owners ,need to show Wal mart how much clout gun owners have
Amen I already have
How do ya mean i know they have been nothing but a pain and aggravation to the max when try to buy a f,in gun and good at drawing the process out for hours if you want to stay and put up with the ignorant of the facts type of person that you seem to have won that day.oh and no other day being different.but i would like to know how we could do that.thank ya sir
How much is that
How
Congrats on a direct review the two tone one seems to have a nice vibe .
Love the Glock and the 22-4..... Great informative video Thx
I have all 5 but please add the Sar K 2 and the Sig P320 to your gun collection. But still a great collection you showed.
cz should focus on making a cz97 that can hold 14 rounds
Or the Sig p220
Sig 220 or the series 70 Colt. My two cents worth.
***** Agreed! Sigs are great guns and beat glocks all day long. BUT...for a short range combat scenario, a glock is still adequate! I mean, give me a break! At 7', how much accuracy do you need to pump two shots to the heart and two to the head in 4 seconds? Only problem with glocks? Stovepipes! Which could get you killed in a serious exchange of gunfire! Which is why I don't own a glock. Only experienced one stovepipe with a glock in over 1000 rounds, but that is too many!
David Pelton And SERIOUSLY people, I you experience even ONE malfunction, failure to feed, stove pipe, or what ever that renders your gun unable to fire and is NOT related to junk ammo, you need to either get the gun fixed, or junk it!! And I don't care if that is in 1000 or 25000 rounds. If you keep your gun clean, properly lubricated and feed it good ammo, there is NO acceptable reason for it not to function 100%!
But some guns are notorious for not being able to do so, such as Kahr!!
***** The Sig 220 is one of my three main carries.
j stark I know those are my two favorites although I do like the M&P 45 too definitely on my to buy list in the future
+Lee Harvey Oswald Ed Brown pistols are an example of the issue with new 1911 pistols. In order to get a high quality one, you will pay. Ed Brown makes a great 1911.
Good video! I'd be interested to see an updated version.
I have a mp 45 and I have about 5 mags
And I always loved the 45 cal
It would be really helpful if you guys also talked about the prices of the firearms.
GreenGiant622 If you are worried about the price of a firearm, you can't afford it!!
+David Pelton
That's shitty reasoning.
Google.com has all the answers lol
+David Pelton amen, if you ask the price of a sig or a H&K you cant afford it
+Dalton Duckett
What if I don't want to?
This channel has made a video before about guns for the budget-minded, why not incorporate that into every top five video or something?
+TheNuketrooper
That's a pretty stupid way of thinking. "If you want to know the price of something, you're too poor for it!"
The Ruger Sr1911 is a great .45 to have as well!!
Great video. Thank you.
Awesome video!
1) Mark 23
2) Custom/Semi-Custom 1911
3) FN FNX45 tactical
4) USP 45 in whatever variation tickles your pickle
5) Sig P220
Nancy Gribble tickles my pickle
This is a more realistic list to me
Mk 23 ok snake
This is awkward
Fnx45tactical is number 1
Does this list still hold true or have any been knocked off this list and replaced with something better? The CZ 97B is still a favorite of mine I know that much.
Everything on this list is not as good as the HK USP45, I haven't seen the whole video yet, I'm only to the FN, but I'm sure everything on this list is a good choice, 1911 is definitely cool and still relevant but it's outdated, they're heavy, only hold 7+1 or 8+1, and compared to a lot of other pistols they aren't the most reliable (although I've only personally seen a 1911 jam twice and that was with steel case), either way you still can't go wrong with a 1911, they are a proven design.
Good video. Nice choices.
Always enjoy your videos. I have several .45 acp. My go to would be my H&K USP Expert. A full sized duty gun. Best shooting. Most controllable .45 I have shot. I see where H&K is selling 20 round mags for these now.
You gotta love a guy who says, "if I could only own 5 .45acp's..."
Not sure how the HK45 Tactical in FDE didn't make this list, though. I think any "collector" would be sorry to not own it, an HK Mk23 with KAC and LAM, FNP Tactical .45 in FDE with Docter, and the Sig 1911 Carry Scorpion in addition to your standard 1911's...
I have the sig scorpion 45 acp. and I just friggin love it , it is my all time favorite
x2 on the HK45 fde tactical. Mmmmm baby.
Photo314159 Seriously sexy. What would you think about the HK45CT in FDE? About 8 years ago there was a picture of both the full-size and compact on the cover of Gun List or Shotgun News- I can't remember which, and the compact in FDE has never been made available to my knowledge. I think I got a line on one now, and I'm pretty excited. I'd have never imagined 10 or 15 years ago that a damn color would be selling me on so many new handguns... :)
I have to say my HK45CT ver2 is my favorite 45.
Fits my hand like a glove!
Hard to own only 5
I own a Springfield xd 45 luv it
Same, I have the 5" barrel model. I was surprised there was an M&P on this list and not an XD. Mine runs flawlessly and I'd very confidently trust my life to my XD
I own the XDS Mod 2 in 45ACP. It is the biggest piece of garbage in my safe.
@@thebusterdog6358 why would say that? Do you have problems with the gun?
So do i, thought for sure itd make the list 😔
But my 1911 and glock made it 🤓
@@thebusterdog6358 why do you own it then?
Excellent presentation.
Got a 21C, a Colt Government model 1911,& a DA 45 Smith and Wesson. All thanks to you, still love all the videos and hope to see you shoot your .45 ACP revolver someday.
Everyday carry is a Colt commander in 38 super or a series 80 Gold cup in .45 2 very reliable and accurate pistols
You got single action and double action backwards.
Single action needs the hammer cocked manually
Double action cocks the hammer with the pull of the trigger
I was just about to say that
When did he get it wrong?
Nice lineup Eric, thanks for sharing. I've had some experience with the 1911, used to have a Colts Government model. I really favor the 1911 over the rest. I own a Ruger P90 at present (👎), no comparison to the Colts I owned. Maybe one day I'll get another one.
Thank you for sharing.
Stan
Been lookin
been looking at a 45 ACP Glad I watched this.!
How about the HK USP .45?
A good gun. But seriously underrated.
*****
thats why you buy the HK45, a modernized and improved USP descendant with 10+1 capacity and the best manufacturing process on the market.
I own one and its awesome. I have the tactical model with the threaded barrel for a suppressor. I can drive tacks with it. I love it and highly recommend it. it was a bit pricey though
Feels bulkier than the M1911 to me.
Arcralf
I have a Springfield 1911 and an HK45. The HK is bigger, especially up top, but I feel less recoil than the 1911 and is definitely much lighter, even with the extra bullets. Also, I live in Alaska, so shooting with an all steel gun tends to be painful to the hands; another reason why I prefer polymer frames over steel.
Not sure how there isn't an HK in that top 5. I've owned a bunch of 45s, and HK USP or HK45 is at the top of my list.
HKs have always been good guns with so-so triggers
I have a M&P 2.0, not in .45 but in a .40 and love it. Before that I EDC my M&P full-size before getting my 2.0 as well as a M&P shield all in .40 and they all are amazing guns. Love them for those range days when I send 500+ rounds through them. Amazing amazing guns. They are solid shooters and never get a jam.
Great video my guy😎
Happy to hear somebody finally say something good about Glocks! I just my new gen 17 & it felt perfect! Lots of control, and feels great in the hand! Also was pretty accurate from 10 feet away for me still learning. Also have a Glock 43, that’s been a pretty fun sub compact. My buddy let me shoot his Walther 45 and now I want a 45🤣
How could you leave out the H&K USP .45? It's a legend.
Some folks are biased towards HK anything, until you get an MP5 iin their hands and they change their tune!
They are great guns but not everyone can afford them...
H&K USP 45 is a wonderful pistol.
What about HK 45
No H&K USP .45, then it's not a serious list. It's not about price, it's about reliability and shootability. Nothing better than the H&K USP .45, period!!
Awesome... thanks for posting
love the videos.... id like to see one just like this with your top 5 .40 cal. guns... I carry a Taurus Millennium G2, PT140 G2 .40
Enjoyed the video. FNX tactical field strips in seconds.
HK USP45, one of the best ever made!
Very well done video. You should definitely do more.
So glad you included my favorite: 1911!
The Remington R1 now comes in 15 + 1 double stack! :)
Still think i'm staying with my Sig Sauer 1911 FastBack Nightmare.
I would love to see a 5 guns vid on the best 1,000yard rifles
That Sig 1911 shoots with much less recoil than I would have expected.
I assume it's because the gun is heavy and solid. My son got the fastback 1911 w/ rosewood grips. We shot that thing over and over and never got tired of it. Machining is tight and perfect. Tri con night sights are cool too.
Your videos are fantastic and very educational great to watch! Thank you. Can you do some videos on checking and correcting headspace especially on SKS and Mozart and other p*** popular rifles. Thanks!
That is a great video. Lots if good, un biased information.
Hey brother I wish you would have included the prices for those five guns. I enjoy your channel and appreciate you and your knowledge of all types of firearms.
You can very easily look the prices up. There's no point in listing prices when they change. This video is made and 2013 so the prices then wouldn't be applicable now anyways.
I carry a G 30 .Good vid.
My first gun purchase was a G21G4. No regrets for this man stopper.
awesome video
great info
I purchased the CZ97B about two months ago, and it's one of my favorite guns! You can't go wrong with a CZ firearm!
Love my CZ
I also bought one about that same time. Beforehand, I researched current .45s so I knew I was buying a very good gun. That is, until I went shooting with it. Then I realized I bought one of the absolute best.
@@k.s.2362 easy to find parts and accessories?
I like my USP .45 and my Sig P220 .45
That 220 is solid and after thousands of rounds I can say it is the most reliable weapon I have owned in over half a century.
Carry a 220 and stay alive. Not even once have I had a failure to fire with it in my hands. It's the best in my hop.
My absolute FAVORITE .45 handguns are the HK45 Tactical, HK45C, and the S&W 625.
Damn i wanna fnp. I live in fredericksburg va lol. Never knew they were here
Love my Glock 21, but I also like my original Detonics Combat Master...
Should try the new SIG Sauer P227R. 10+1 rounds of .45 ACP in the best Sig to date.
Well done sir. Great video
1:43 nice job safely handling that firearm😂
theres nothing more refreshing than a glock fanboy willing to admit he had been wrong about their main rival and can recognize it's merit. im a glock fanboy myself but why limit yourself to one platform there are so many awesome guns out there
I have an odd mindset because I want one lower than can convert to many calibers I want just one lower and swap slides/barrels and bam new gun. minimizes luggage out to the range. unfortunately not many pistols can do this which sucks but best are glock and 1911 one day ill have my cz75 in 45 one day
They all kill and maim...and as long as it's not made in China your ok
Thank you for your service and welcome home.
Great information damn dude
My Springfield 1911 and cz97 are my top .45 handguns.
I own a Springfield XD 45 acp 4" barrel. I would like to know your opinion of this pistol.
I have one ,it's great, wish they made a 46
