    this is a good example what bad rust protection and clogged water drains do to a car body. Nice work!

      Always remove leaves, and take care of your cars!
      Unfortunately the metal on older cars aren't treated like the cars these days!

    Just a tip. If you can get your hands on a tig welder you will get a much more easy going solid weld with the thin stuff. It does take some practice but the results will speak for themselves.

    Hi 32 Builds. I am also in the process of having my Datsun "Debe" (our fond nickname for the B120 here in Nairobi Kenya), refurbished. I am impressed by your technique at rescuing that flange that was holly with rust! Keep them coming!

    Great work loving this build. But I am glad my Datto didn’t have that much rust. Also loved the footwear when grinding that metal. I thought I was the only one who did that crazy stuff!

    Hey this was very inspiring but also so daunting to see that much material taken away. Was wondering what tools you were using to shape the metal. Like creating the folds and such? Truly impressive and what a place to be doing the work. A parking garage lol

  • @michaelnavarro1938
    @michaelnavarro1938 4 роки тому +2

      Shhhh, dont tell my neighbors hahaha
      I'm using 1mm thick mild steel, I think its also coated in zinc or something so it doesn't rust before using it.

    what wheel do you attach to the drill to clean the metal so nicely? Is it just a plain brass wire wheel? Great work so far mate, keep it up. Followed you on IG too.

    • @32Builds
      @32Builds  4 роки тому

      Cheers for the follow! What I'm using is a stripper wheel, it kinda looks like a sponge - used for paint and rust. On flatter areas I prefer to use a stripper wheel on a drill rather than a twisted wire wheel on an angle grinder, keeps the noise down in the shared space as well.

    Are you using gassless welding wire or standard ?

    • @32Builds
      @32Builds  4 роки тому

      Standard wire, gassless did not work out well with me 😂

    • @martinpik1
      @martinpik1 4 роки тому +1

      32Builds are you using gas because those welds look like your not getting any gas too it
      Also try and bring the torch closer you’ve got a good welder so the welds shouldn’t look like that

    • @martinpik1
      @martinpik1 4 роки тому +1

      32Builds also make sure you have the welder set to gas wire you may need to swap over grounding lead to positive or negative not 100% on which one you use for gas welding

    • @32Builds
      @32Builds  4 роки тому

      Yeah my rubber hoses might be a bit old, cause I've got the gas turned up at the moment. I always double check to see if the gas flows by seeing if it moves grind dust around on the floor 😂 I checked the polarity when I was welding with gas and gassless wire as well.
      What should my welds be looking like? Is it the fact they're protruding a bit much, or maybe a bit hollow?

    • @martinpik1
      @martinpik1 4 роки тому

      @@32Builds they definitely shouldn't look hollow or pointy like they do it should look like a puddle
