Looks like a great option to try and fix something that otherwise would just go in the bin. Thanks very much for making & sharing this video! cheers JB
Hey I just want to say thank you for the very detailed explanation and demonstration Video was perfect and has everything I needed to know I very much appreciate your work my friend I will be donating to you soon
Good Job! Took your time, showed all that is necessary including tools and info to contact you for further help. I'll be contacting you though Facebook for several repairs I'm attempting myself. Thank You! C. Wagner
Wow 😮 awesome video so smart and simple. I will definitely use this fix. I can get those extension cords from the dollar store. Thanks so much. 👍 I just wish I saw your video 2 years ago lmao. I won’t miss anymore. Bell 🛎 on cheers 🍻
Also you can get a continuity tester. Sometimes the manufacturer makes other points that are easy to solder. If there is continuity with the +/- then you can use the alternative.
Thank you! I was looking for a similar way to solder a cord directly to the leads where the micro USB port used to be in some headphones. If I'm only using it for charging, not data transfer, I can just solder the positive and ground?
Please balance your audio levels between your music and spoken portions. Thanks for the great repair, I just hope that all your viewers understand that they mustn't bridge the soldered points with each other or other nearby terminals.
Looks sweet and to be honest, the extender makes this easier with the flexibility. I do have a question though. I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A10 70F and the the board is a little different so I am not sure where the ground is. Is there a place to find this so I know where to solder the new wires to? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Ok. Last question. Here is the circuit board with the 4 spots labeled. Do they look correct? Again, appreciate all your time and patience. i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee408/wowjasonius/Inked20171005_160337_LI_zpsjhrgy5zv.jpg and i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee408/wowjasonius/Inked20171005_160233_LI_zpsxomumsml.jpg
Good job! But I'd rather extend the cable and stick the connector to the tablet body or made longer cable. Such a short cable is very prone to breakage
There is a risk of tearing the solder joints off the board if the hot glue gets loose and the USB female is pulled. I would do all the same ( actually did ) but my USB had a coaxial cover inside which I used as security line attached to the frame, and I used 10cm thin long wires inside as a buffer against pulling off .
I feel like my son tablet charging port has been pushed back. Does it have to be replaced? I wish I knew how to improvise like this 😔. Thanks for sharing.
Does it matter if it is an USB extender but for a USB-C on the one end an regular USB contact on the other? Or do it HAVE to be specifically mini usb ?
Will it work if you use the four pins on the back of the motherboard? If I am not mistaken, two pins are D- and D+ and the fourth pin is 5V, so you don't need to dissasemble the whole motherboard. Am i wrong? Thanks for your help
Can u help me my tablet charging port is damaged and I want some one to do it for me ,because I can't do all this things , can any devices shop do it for me ? or ???
It´s OK. D- D+ are only for data transfer between computer, flashing rom, etc.. Battery is probably totally discharged. Let it charge for a longer time. It should be fine again.
Just do the same procedure .... using a USB A female with bare wires ...... Just plug that directly to the charging/wall adapter ... of course leave more wire to dangle /dongle !
Try test for continuity with a multimeter. Check the USB micro pinout bit.ly/2xWUipi and find it on the circuit board, near the DC jack or on the other side of the PCB.
Well the cable used here is an info cable but was cut making it loose it's information capability. Same with every other info cable try cutting a VGA and glue it back it won't work because
and then there is me. one wire not attached to anything, the other three loosely attached to their place and me going *doooooo doobe doop doop doooooooo* the whole time.
Tablet will never work as a host again because the OTG fuction is lost.Where is the problem to replace with another smd usb female instead of this extender.
Good point. It is actually two same tablets. For the first time I am only fix charging by soldering +5V ang GND. In the second case I did better, soldering all four wires including data transfer. I finally used more video shots for the final video.
You probably need a female end so that it still has the same type of port(?) To plug into for charging it. I'm guessing if you used a male end, then you'd most likely still need a female end in a power source of some type to charge it, and I'm not a.... Uh..electronicologist, or whatever, but maybe it'd change which wires get soldered to which squares. I'm just guessing cause nobody answered your question. You might get friend when you plugged it in if you're about to even, or it could nuke your shit. I like this video because, even the people bitching about fucking up your shit possibly, this video to fix already fucked up and unusable shit.
Hey there! I'm trying to repair the charging port for my LG V20 cell phone. Would I use the same process for it? Here's a link to the motherboards if this helps. Thank you! ebay.to/2yPZddR
The V20 is USB C. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. USB C is extremely complicated compared to the one in this vid. You would probably have to replace the motherboard on the phone if the port is broken. That is what would happen if you sent it in for repair.
Does it matter what it looks like if it doesn't work it doesn't work. With the pigtail at least there won't be much if any stress put on the circuit board which is where the failure usually occurs because people are not careful and use their phone / tablet while plugged in
Where did you get a $1 micro usb extender?

From your mom mainly.

just go to the 99 cent store simple
Очень хорошо
Looks like a great option to try and fix something that otherwise would just go in the bin.
Thanks very much for making & sharing this video!
cheers
JB
i did it with microscope and soldering. and it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thankx alot!!!!!!
My pleasure.
Hey I just want to say thank you for the very detailed explanation and demonstration

Can I connect the red and black wire only for charging only not for file transfer? It will charge my tablet?
Wow 😮 awesome video so smart and simple. I will definitely use this fix. I can get those extension cords from the dollar store. Thanks so much. 👍 I just wish I saw your video 2 years ago lmao. I won’t miss anymore. Bell 🛎 on cheers 🍻
I love it !! thanks !! - even my 70 yr old hands could do it & of course the price was right too !
I'm so glad you did it.
RCompHacks yes
@@RCompHacks
I don't think I can do it.
My hands are 27.
I'm scared
Thank you for sharing this info, you helped me fix my daughter's broken tablet.
Also you can get a continuity tester. Sometimes the manufacturer makes other points that are easy to solder. If there is continuity with the +/- then you can use the alternative.
That's some precision soldering!😉👍
lol, not pretty, but its good so average joe can do it too (which doesn't have micro soldering station)
Is that possible to make one data port and one charging port if tablet has an OTG option? To add accesories and charge simul
and the otg?
Hi, thanks for your video, I want to know if I can do this direct to the battery as I cannot find the data pin point. Track badly dsmaged
I DID THIS AGES AGO.THE FLEXIBLE CONNECTOR IS ACTUALLY MUCH BETTER AND
REDUCES STRESS ON THE TABLET PCB AND ALSO LASTS LONGER DUE TO THE
FLEXIBILITY.
Thanks for your awesome Job .
Thanks, it works, also transfer data to the laptop
Excellent idea!
Thank you! I was looking for a similar way to solder a cord directly to the leads where the micro USB port used to be in some headphones. If I'm only using it for charging, not data transfer, I can just solder the positive and ground?
Es hat super funktioniert, obwohl ich skeptisch war.
Dickes Dankeschön
That´s all right!
So I’m curious what kind of solder you are using? It looks like it’s self adding on the solder and I need one of those.
You are rare bro thx now i can do it at my asus tab good job keep it up
Please balance your audio levels between your music and spoken portions. Thanks for the great repair, I just hope that all your viewers understand that they mustn't bridge the soldered points with each other or other nearby terminals.
Does OTG function work?
Will otg function work?
I am not sure but data transfer between computer and tablet via USB cable worked.
Looks sweet and to be honest, the extender makes this easier with the flexibility. I do have a question though. I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A10 70F and the the board is a little different so I am not sure where the ground is. Is there a place to find this so I know where to solder the new wires to? Check my Instagram. Look at the USB pinout. bit.ly/2xWUipi
Awesome. Thanks! Really appreciate the time. I will see if I can figure it out! Thanks again!
Ok. Last question. Here is the circuit board with the 4 spots labeled. Do they look correct? GND is correct.
Thanks again!
Thanks for Information
we like that big technique thankyou bigist enginier
Good job! But I'd rather extend the cable and stick the connector to the tablet body or made longer cable. Such a short cable is very prone to breakage

Good idea..thx
thanks for the video, I tried doing this but my USB cable kept getting warm and the tablet wouldn´t charge anyway, what could be the issue?
Does it matter if it is an USB extender but for a USB-C on the one end an regular USB contact on the other? Or do it HAVE to be specifically mini usb ?
You can use various cable but it is necessary solder +5V and GND for charging. Other wires are for data transfer. Check pinout scheme.
cant you just use male usb as well if im going really cheap
Yeah it would just be a long cord coming off the tab though. If u made it too short, it wont reach the wall wort outlet or other usb
Will it work if you use the four pins on the back of the motherboard? If I am not mistaken, two pins are D- and D+ and the fourth pin is 5V, so you don't need to dissasemble the whole motherboard. Am i wrong? Thanks for your help
Sure, if connector not damaged and can cause short-circuit. Better to remove the board and check it from the other side.
THank you! In my case the conector is very damaged, in fact is gone! But I prefer to avoid unsolding and solding the speakers
AWESOME!
If you only want to charge... Only connect the power?
Yes.
X-Cellent! I can do this......Thanks for the post,,,
Brilliant!!!!
Mwah. you are a very astute and practical man.
Спасибо за идею у нас такой планшет отличный способ попробую сделать собствеными силами. 👍заходи в гости
Super friend
how about a nextbook model NX785QC8G
I love you so much Mann ❤️😂😂
Where did I got this micro usb extended cable I am from Pakistan
I have the same problem with asus zenpad 10. Do you have idée how can I find GND and 5v connection? 🤔
Check micro USB pinout: bit.ly/2xWUipi
RCompHacks thank you for your answer.
Can u help me my tablet charging port is damaged and I want some one to do it for me ,because I can't do all this things , can any devices shop do it for me ? or ???
ask on craigs list (small ad sites) but my guess is its will be more than 20 dollars
I have got same problem in my bosse speaker an the data cable are CLK and CDM please help should I connect
I don´t know how your device looks like. Test for continuity with a multimeter and try to find +V and GND.
I need help with ACER A1-830 board. I cant find D- D+ and GND.
Take a detail photo where micro USB connector is and send me photos via facebook message. I will try mark it.
How i find d - and d + thanks to ur video
My lenovo tablet 2 830L turns on when I put charger and charges but shows that charge is zero and i can watch videos on it I can use it
I need to do something similar to this on my 10.1 onn tablet 😭
Those some hardcore lookin 👀 tools there chief.
I have Lenovo ideapad s6000-h, how can i fix usb port, please help me
I solding ony +5V and GND. Tablet charge, but show 0%. Did I must solding D+, D-? plus help me if You can:-)
It´s OK. D- D+ are only for data transfer between computer, flashing rom, etc.. Battery is probably totally discharged. Let it charge for a longer time. It should be fine again.
I work on a lot of things I just hope I can do this lol.
Can u send video of how to fix the charging port of lenovo tablet A1500
The principle is the same. Universal instructions. I don´t have tablet A1500.
Can you make this way abit easier
How do you mean, easier?
Like abit easier way like not using any thing
Sir my tablet name Ubisurfer
To my tablet is same problem to please solve this problem
reply me
Just do the same procedure .... using a USB A female with bare wires ...... Just plug that directly to the charging/wall adapter ... of course leave more wire to dangle /dongle !
IS IT POSSIBLE FOR LENOVO S6000F IF SO HOW
Try test for continuity with a multimeter. Check the USB micro pinout bit.ly/2xWUipi and find it on the circuit board, near the DC jack or on the other side of the PCB.
thanks for the speedy reply will have a look , and if I find that would I need to scrape the board or just solder to the points described thanks
hi found them but could you show me where to solder the wires please
Take a detail photo where micro USB connector is and send me photos via facebook message. I will try mark it.
thankyou will do
Why didn't he put a regular USB 2.0 ports?
Instead of another regular easy to break micro usb?
I wanna remove batery and use direct power
Yeah...go for it! Plug it straight to a wall socket!
i did everything like on the video and it's finaly charging but won't connect with computer via uSB :( help
Well the cable used here is an info cable but was cut making it loose it's information capability.
Same with every other info cable try cutting a VGA and glue it back it won't work because
sound track title pls

and then there is me. one wire not attached to anything, the other three loosely attached to their place and me going *doooooo doobe doop doop doooooooo* the whole time.
What about mobile phone Nokia lumia 630?
It's very similar to all devices. Instead of the connector solder the wires.
My 635 is broken 2
Hey man after applying your idea
My tablet just charge but I can't transfer data
Anyone have idea what should I do
its simple you have problem with data connection resolder the data pin line
Tablet will never work as a host again because the OTG fuction is lost.Where is the problem to replace with another smd usb female instead of this extender.
Because the original PCB connector pins are destroyed.
This is solution for damaged circuit board when connector replacement not possible.
well yu had to make it two times, the first charging port you placed didn't work :(
Good point. It is actually two same tablets. For the first time I am only fix charging by soldering +5V ang GND. In the second case I did better, soldering all four wires including data transfer. I finally used more video shots for the final video.

Question dose it have to be female? can I use male ? Dose that matter?

on my samsung there are 10 pins coming from the micro usb port. How can I hardwire to this? imgur.com/a/MCubl
It´s Micro USB 11pin MHL dc jack. I don´t have any Samsung device with this connector. I will try to find pinout.
Check Micro USB 11 pinout. bit.ly/2AvRPpL It should be helpful for you.
What if the phone is a Nokia 7.1 that can't open?
I need help
How can I help you?
If it works...
I really don't know come to my country 😀
1 dollar. . . Neeeds soldering iron which costs significantly more. .
Connectors are cheap. Why not do it right instead of hack like this? You need a soldering pencil not a gun with waaay too much heat.
why didn´t you solder usb type c for the future? micro usb is something ancient of 2015..
USB type C is not necessary. The most important is charging the tablet via origin charger.
amazon
dont scratch on a pcb board like this OMG

Hey there! I'm trying to repair the charging port for my LG V20 cell phone.
Would I use the same process for it? Here's a link to the motherboards if this helps. Thank you!
ebay.to/2yPZddR
I´m not sure how your power jack looks like but it should be almost the same process.
The V20 is USB C. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. USB C is extremely complicated compared to the one in this vid. You would probably have to replace the motherboard on the phone if the port is broken. That is what would happen if you sent it in for repair.
Connector has more pins but principle is the same. You have to find +5V and GND. For data transfer add D+ D-. Check USB-C pinout schema.
