He poured himself into the social space in the office which made it better for everyone. For a long time, Jim wanted to water the garden he was in, instead of seek another. They cast an actor who auditioned for the Jim role to play Asian Jim, just as they cast an actor who auditioned for the Michael Scott role as the “another Michael Scott” boss of the company in Philadelphia where Pam interviewed. Those were inspired casting!
